There doesn't seem to be even a single ammo runt in the flash gitz box. That's pretty disappointing... and a potential gap in the market for canny third party sculptors.

That was one of the first things I noticed too.

I too am worried re Looted Wagons. The simple and lazy approach for GW is to not have any Looted Wagon rules, and instead just include a bit of waffle re using Allies and Unbound rules to represent absolutely any looted vehicle.
And that's absolutely fine for the gamer who desperately wants to field something bizarre like a Necron Tesseract or an Eldar Wrathknight, which would never get specific rules in the ork codex.
But it's not so great for the gamer who wants to include e.g. a shooty tank in a codex-only army and so is restricted to trukk/battlwagon options.

So what are people's opinions on the Flash Gitz? I am wondering whether to pre-order and make the most of Gifts for Geeks additional discount for pre-orders, but I'm not convinced.
I think the Range is perhaps a bit limited, considering you want them to remain stationary to make use of the Gitfindas. Otherwise you'd have them running around in a trukk/BW.

The Nobz box set also comes with an Ammo Runt, so perhaps that's why it's a bit of a let down there isn't at least one with the Flash Gitz. That's probably the only thing you could say as a con to the kit, it looks great!

It's hard to say if the new Gitz are good or not because we don't have the new rules. No idea what the army wide rules are or what those boss poles each one does. The rules for ammo runts could be different and we don't know if they other upgrades not listed in the WD. Gitz could be decent but outclassed by kanz (double grotzookas look promising if it's possible). Too many unknowns to judge right now. That being said they don't look like auto include OP material but could be fun.

Its hard to be awesome, when your playing with little plastic men.
Welcome to Fantasy 40k
If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.
Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.

Since we still have no word on a codex release date, I plan to pre-order a box of Flash Gitz and then assemble/paint those while waiting on the codex. The models are too cool not to own, and I look forward to creating my own flash-looking guns.

I think they're fantastic. The strength is high enough to wound a wraithknight, and with the AP randomness there's a 50% shot at ap3 or better. Heck, a mob of 10 could take down a Wraithknight in 1 turn with a little luck. Stick them in a battlewagon with a big mek and let them shoot outta there. I can see them fitting into lots of ork lists. Plus the models are fantastic.

Really don't think they will be in many lists far to pricey and a very bad save rather take lootas any day it all depends where flashgitz get moved to elite or stay in hvy support just don't see a worth while use for them and pricey cash wise as well.
So far not impressed with orks release big guns next let's hope they save the day but buying F all till I have a codex gw needs a kicking for ballsing up a release like this. One unit a week and no codex I better get new buggies or they can shove the whole release
But so far left with these questions :
Why pay £65 for that gorkanaught when you can have a stompa for £70
Don't see why you would have a gorkanaught in your army very pricey pts wise for orks (other than just to try it)
Flashgitz no need I can see far to pricey pts wise when a cheaper unit does it far better (so far)
Any one else thought the same?

Stompa is super-heavy, not 'Orkanaut ... as was mentioned by others here, you may find some players not really into playing against a super-heavy
but I see your point, especially since I discovered the FW rules for custom Stompa that allow you to have it as transport!
Flash-gitz can get better AP (but not all the time), can get BS3 (but not all the time), and look really cool
Haven't done the math yet regarding how efficient they are, just because we don't have the rules

Ammo runts would be great, hope the rumor about getting them in a boxed set, seeing as how Orks should have a small horde of them running about their feet at all times.

Yeah Ten gitz will run you what, 220?
They toss 30 dice, hit on 5s, so you will get about 12 in, all at s5, and 50% at ap3 or even lower is awesome.
Maybe they aren't totally amazing, but at least they are decent, perfect for all but the most WAAC player, and not a total leave at home unit like before.
Plus, the models are awesome, I love all that brass flying around

Exactly. And if they dont move theyre even better. Hopefully there will be some points drops or something in the rest of the codex so we can justify taking some shootiness that these guys bring

And the models are absolutely delectable. I eagerly await next week.

maybe why most players are still curious about the "gw hobby" beaten wife syndrome.
i haven't played a game since 5th ed. Not too sure if ill even play a game of 7th.. BUT that doesn't mean i don't want the codex in my collection. I may even build a force (out of models i already own or will convert).
Can't argue about the price one way or another, most ork players will just chop up the flash gits for more bits. Or convert their own..

The Flash Git models look great! I almost preordered the 10 flash git + battlewagon combo. but realized I'm saving about $1 ordering from GW..
I have such a love hate relationship with those guys. I'll wait till the online folks sell the stuff at %20 less.
On a serious note. I haven't seen a single ork model kit coming out that I didn't think was AWESOME!

220pts for 10 or 225 for 15 lootas with str7 guns at 48 inch range ap 4 I think d3 shots hmm as I said only reason I could see taking them is if they moved to elites or lootas become bad in the new codex
They should have kept there 4 up save
But there models are not bad just not top of my list

Flash Gitz also have nob stats, have bosspoles, stikkbombs, have a character, and can take ammo runts and dedicated transports. Also they are always 1 BS better than lootas. Lootas have been the best units in our codex and honestly our only AA, but flash gitz have a place in our army. And since they are two different slots, you can bloody well take both in the same detachment

You forgot the top two rules for complaining about 40k. If you quit, you can no longer complain about it because you're not playing, so your points are meaningless. If you are playing, you can't complain about it because you bought the stuff, and there's no complaining about things you've already bought!
