Wow that's painful to watch. Some interesting discussion but it takes them so long to stumble through a conversion to get to the good points that I started to zone out after a few minutes, lol.

hey Panic, is that the actual model for a mega dred? or custo

It is, he hasn't put the engine on the back or the jaw plate on the front.

I too bought two sets of grot tanks and the mega dread when Kastra came out! Such fantastic models. I love those little burger tanks! Fairly good in the game too.

Unless they add something, those meganobz aren't all that tempting.

Then again, they didn't "fix" ogryn or regular terminators either, so expecting something to shift for Meganobz is unlikely anyway.

So in light of the new Flash Gitz rules, are the Kustom Jobs (More Dakka, Shootier, Blasta) a thing of the past? Seems like the variable AP rule encompasses Blasta, the Snazzgun stat line grants More Dakka, but we lose Shootier.

Would be cool to have those benefits.

Doesn't list any upgrade options in the WD, so hopefully, this is just a summary and not the entire rule set.

All I know is... the Flash Gits are the first models i've seen in ages that I urgently want to paint... so we're buying a bunch regardless of rules.

Worst case scenario, they'll become proxy Lootas as we need to buy a bunch of those too.

The new flashgitz are much more expensive than the Nobz because they are new and the Nobz are an old kit.

GW did what everybody wanted and stopped doing their annual price increase on everything which kept all similar kits (based on sprue number/complexity amongst other) a couple of years ago (or was it 3?),

so older kits will carry on looking cheaper and cheaper compared to the new ones which while annoying is far better than annual price rises and finding the Nobz were $35-ish compared to flash git at $53

I have tried to say this elsewhere to little effect. Honestly i like this mew direction. It is ,much better than the alternative which would have made nobz around $45 if they kept doing the annual price hikes.

I'm not a fan of the current prices or GW's pricing strategies. I had a serious case of sticker shock after sitting out for a couple of editions and returning in time for 6e. Had to come to terms with prices for the love of Orks and 40K.

Actually i think the Mega nobs got an upgrade, did no one notice they come with boss poles? Before you absolutely had to baby sit them with an HQ no matter what. Hey you still might but at the very least you saved points by them automatically having a boss pole.

It does confirm the rumors that some orks would have these saw type weapons but what it does is still up for grabs. With some of the rules splashed onto white dwarf does anyone have an old issue of WD of a previous release for another army where did they not preview all of the rules for a model before release? if we can figure out how much WD info actually releases we will have a bigger picture to look at.

I totally agree
The biggest issue was leadership checks with them before, now with a re-roll it is very manageable (unless the bosspole is changed to a different roll)
I dont know about the buzzsaws, whatever they may be, they pump up the points cost by 25%, and meganobs were already an expensive unit without that (even as good as they are, 40p a pop is alot in Orky terms)

I've been wondering the same thing. Are these rules written strictly for 7e and the new codex and what we see is what we get? Or are they written to be backward compatible with 6e and the current codex with more changes to come once the new codex drops?

The "Militarum Tempestus"(read: Scions) Platoon rules didn't give you the updated orders that were in the Astra Militarum book.

So there's a good chance we'll see further changes to the WD rules ... hopefully for the better.

Not so much "changes", but rather you don't get the whole picture.

Think of this as being something that you can test out right now without needing to know anything significant from the new rules.

I think these rules have been given to us so we can play the models while waiting for the codex. So maybe the rules aren't that great in WDW, but they'll be better in the 'dex.

Those are the 'Eavy Metal models from the latest WDW, so it has something to do with them being fancy painted.

That's what I'm hoping for. I'd like to see the Flash Gitz get the equivalent of Shootier for their Snazzguns.

Alright so we now know for a fact that there is a precedent for only showing us some of the rules/stats and there may be things that will be revealed once we get the codex.

Side note isn't the second picture of the painted flash git the special edition one they put out years ago? It looks really familiar. Regardless that one i thought was pretty cool also but quite expensive. Fingers crossed if we hear about the preorder once the weekend is done for the codex.

Were there any stat line changes or was it more along the lines of rules implementation?

More along the lines of rules implementation.

The Scions might not have been the best example though, as they used the Astra Militarum listing rather than the Militarum Tempestus(the supplement book that was advertised for preorder in the issue with the rules) listing.
