200 Pounds for the warboss edition? what? Surely not...
Edit: Thats $363AUD. That HAS to be a mistake. They cant charge $200AUD more for the collectors edition compared to previous collectors editions.
The price is higher than earlier rumours in this thread put it,
but it does have an extra book, the art book/prints, markers etc rather than just having a different cover and a bit of ribbon so it was always going to be a lot more than previous limited codexes
More than double the price though? I doubt that.

I didn't realize how annoying the codex not being out yet is until today. I have a trukk I am painting, but I can't give it any discerning colors as far as a clan goes because I want to see what they add and the color scheme.

Maybe orks will get a bonus to the new mob rule table based on their numbers?
eg: a 1 is bad a 6 is good, but you get +1 to the result for every 5 boys in a mob. Meaning larger mobs will be more likely to benefit from the good results...

17 point warbikes in units of 15. I can also see them being popular in MSU of 4 or so if Wazdakka or some other HQ makes them troops. They have nice dakka for sitting at 18" and shooting.
The extra 2" to disembark from a boarding plank is a surprise and it makes me wonder if they are doing away with red paint job or if the waaagh rumors are off. A 7" move + 8" disembark + D6 run with Waaaagh +2D6 charge comes to an average threat range of 25.5" on a charge coming out of a vehicle without the reroll from ere we go. Maximum charge range would be 33". This is making me think if it's too good to be true...

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

As for the price of the warboss edition. $80AUD for the normal codex, and $360 for the warboss edition. $300 more for a limited edition.
That is definatly wrong information.

I think it is more likely that what the leaker said is true, and the mek makes the dakka jet counts as a troop, which would make that 2 combined arms detachments.

The Codex: Astra Militarum Limited Edition was only $100, though it was a 1 book thing
$200 for 2 books + markers sounds definitely ok, not $300
Looking at Grot Orderly's post in Polish, it's possible to figure out that the price should actually be more around 100 pounds that 200 pounds:
- 150 zloty for the regular codex (or 30 pounds)
- 500 zloty for the limited codex (or about 100 pounds)

I can confirm that. Exchange between PLN and GBP is roughly 1:5. So it should be 100 GBP if mentioned 500 PLN is true.

The wagon isn't in the codex.
It is white dwarf exclusive, and will be available as digital download for $1-2.
It's not a cash grab by selling "incomplete" books.
Truth is that the book finished without the codex entry, because it did not have a model. Due to public opinion, it was brought back in a last minute decision about a month ago. You'll even note that there is a typo in the unit entry in this week's White Dwarf, where the unit entry was copy/pasted over the Gorkonaut entry.
There is no intention of making a looted-wagon conversion kit at this time, though it would be cool if it could then combo with Lemon Russ or Rhinos, etc, it simply is not intended.
People should be happy that they're heard, and the rules are going to be in white dwarf allowing for a more organic game with solutions to issues outside of 2+ years between codicies.
The reality is that not everyone in the internet-community will ever be happy.

Yup, though i think we'd run out of points long before that.
Unless boyz get a point cut in a 2000pt game its only ~8 units of 30 boyz including a nob with pklaw and minimal warboss with his own klaw (and a mek with kff obviously). Not exact points there mind you, probably have a few to spare, but thats just 2-second math lol.
Unless the new FoC increases Heavy/Elite/ FA slots too, probably wont ever see orks run multiple detachments lol. Might be prudent to split the boyz down to ~20man units though if the fear on Green Mob is true and were no longer fearless, which would definitely boost the number of units lol

Hmm didnt notice he said that last bit, even though i quoted it lol. Oops. I feel silly now.
And theres several uses to the unique FoC. Especially if orks keep their current routine where theyre constantly shifting things into the Troops catagory, it can get filled up quick.
Also what pretre said, single foc games. Its bound to happen where tournaments below 2k points houserule "only 1 detachment allowed" allowing only a single allied detachment outside the main one.
Even in the current dex i find myself wanting a 3rd HQ quite often. In double-foc games i almost never used 4 HQs but i damn near always had 3.

Pain Boss HQ from IA8 lets you give cybork to any unit, so it'll probably just be a price you pay per model. Though you can (probably) get that 5++ save more cheaply by bringing along a few KFF Meks, with the KFF upgrade for a Big Mek being 30pts.

i can vouch that giving a unit of 30 boyz Cybork bodies and FNP makes them ridiculously durable. Ive ran Grotsnik in them a few times, but his insanity makes me not like it since theyre forced to run to the nearest target even if its the end of the game and moving that far makes them leave an objective. Probably be running that list again with a normal Painboy/boss/whatever they call him if i can attach him to boyz and give them cyborks lol. Grotsnik really isnt that awesome since his Poisoned rule is on a different weapon from his PK, so hes not that different from a painboy outside T5 and +1 wound lol. EDIT: Hell, i might even try running 2-3 boy squads with that tactic lol. Expensive as gak, think it was 370pts for a 30man boyz squad with nob/klaw and no gun upgrades before factoring in Grotsnik himself. But that one unit survived a LOT of firepower, in the end i only lost about half of them - imagine 3 of them rofl.

Yeah, but the command benefits are said to be different as well.
Standard (rulebook) FoC gets the re-roll warlord trait and "super-scoring"
Ork "Horde" FoC gets the re-roll warlord trait and hammer-of-wrath-for-units-larger-than-10

Making Painboys be HQ and giving KFF a 5++ save seems like GW is basically making the way I like to play official. Really, the only thing I'm waiting on seeing is if stock boyz/nobz get a point reduction. I'd love to see Nobz be reduced to 16pts across the board, not just in boy mobz.
