Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

I want to hope it is good, I really do, but it seems Hollywood is intent on again destroying the Sword and Sandals genre, so I'm not holding my breath.
He can't be worse than the one in the BBC's Atlantis series. I know they tried to play on the story of Hercules and how it morphed in the "Legend" but pleeeese, at least have something to work with in the beginning. This Hercules is a joke.

I think Dwayne Johnson is actually pretty good, given a decent director that doesn't have him to The Rock. I've enjoyed most films he's been in. Suprisingly so actually. I'm medium interested.

I'm a big fan.
I think it's cool to watch his old flixs and "watch him progress" as an actor throughout the years. His acting acumen was great in SNITCH and PAIN&GAIN imo.
1. Needs more Kevin Sorbo
2. Needs more Lucy Lawless
3. Definitely going for the "300" effect here ("I AM HERCULES!" versus "THIS IS SPARTA!")
4. It gives me a bit of a Conan feel for some reason

As someone who didn't care for the 90's TV Hercules (or really Xena either) I'm fine with it not having Kevin Sorbo in it or not being like that show. I don't mind if Lucy Lawless shows up. She was great in Parks and Rec, Battlestar Galactica, and Spartacus.

As for the 90's Hercules - It was awesome when I was a kid, but I tried watching it on Netflix a couple months ago, and it's mega corny.
But it happened when you were younger! Surely it's the pinnacle of all artistic creativity, cause it happened ages ago and this new remake won't hold a candle to it and grumble grumble grumble.

Uh...okay? I was simply saying the new looked cool, and the 90's TV series wasn't as good as I remember it being...watchable, but pretty silly sometimes.
Yeah, I remember nabbing season 1 and all the TV movies of the 90's Hercules and trying to watch them a decade later....it didn't go well. Though it was only $5 so I can't complain I guess

The best Hercules is in the old Italian Peplum films with Steve Reeves. There is nothing quite as invigorating as watching sweaty, groaning, muscular Italians wrestle each other in loinclothes!

He's got a really dodgy smile in that final shot... I'm not impressed really, maybe I'm getting old and grumpy or something, but so many of his scenes just look, well, ridiculous.
I actually quite enjoy him when he plays the 'straight man' in a few of the comedy films.

Sorry, it was intended as a light-hearted dig at the guy who said the way to improve it was to add all the actors from the old series You were the first person I saw who mentioned the old one and wasn't overly nostalgic

I remember watching this movie as kid with my brother, well part of it at any rate. We did not know who Arnold was at the time and as a result we stopped watching the movie about 15 minutes in because we could not stop yelling," no your not Hercules, Hercules was Greek not German!" And then my parents said change the channel, we are tired of hearing you yelling so we did. To be a kid again, those where the days!
