I think I saw a thread pretty damn similar to this one a while ago, but I may be wrong(Link the thread if I am right)

Mine is definitely anything with a good chunk of Termies so mainly GK or DW

I cannot stand that 2+ as a IG player, especially when you do get that 2+ out the way for there to be the SS taking a big dump all over your small victory, oh and dont forget feel no pain. Urgh.

Terminators are actually pretty easy to deal with for any list, because they are so horribly overcosted.

For my BA, its any list other than BA. For the counts-as marines list I run, it's better, but I don't have a grav star, so I count on Iron Hands with Smash$%%^^er, whom I feel is somewhat overrated. Basically, any list that puts out 50+ wounds a turn against meqs is a nightmare for my lists.

Tyranids. Not only have I never won a game against them, I've never SEEN them lose a game. I know I'm supposed to feel bad that Tyranid players got 'screwed' with their new codex, but I just can't bring myself to have any empathy at all.

Tyranids are pretty terrible now. I can't imagine a meta where this is true. Do you have zero competitive players?

Meh. They're still just terminator losers. AP 2 is so cheap for so many lists, I just don't think that this is that strong.

Eldar.

You start the game, and by the end of turn 1 you're thinking "why am I even here?"

My army looks like molasses while the Eldar bikes are like flies buzzing everywhere. And skilled riders is a joke, we're going to fly through these trees into a building at 150 MPH and land in a swamp. No difficult terrain test. Then assault a unit, hit and run on a roll of 1-5, and turbo boost to the opposite side of the board.

"Ah, I finally got a wound on your shining spears" "Yea but I have a 3+ re-rollable save."

"I hit your unit with a leman russ blast, no armor saves for you!" "Oh that unit has a 2+ cover save for some reason."

Their tanks have cover saves and jink saves for some reason. And their psykers just autokill my warlord.

I don't mind losing games, but it's nice to feel like I have a fighting chance.

We have a winner! "Why am I here?" is my go-to quote for describing playing against Eldar.

I never said that Terminators were unbeatable, or that I hated playing them because they were really OP. Just that I hated playing against them.

Its not strong a list is that makes me hate playing against it, just how much I dislike certain units because of their bore factor.

Yeah, terminators are bad AND boring. I never thought of it that way, actually. At least Eldar are shiny and kill me quick.

I ignore the fluff as well. *Guilty*. If they would put the fluff into the rule system, it wouldn't be a problem. But they don't, so the fluff literally doesn't matter in the tabletop game.

Actually, this doesn't bother me nearly as much as 2/3 of my army disintegrating after two turns of Tau/Eldar shooting. The Necrons at least give me a chance to play.

There are much better armies out there, but I really hate playing against my friend's Nurgle Chaos. Nurgle Spawn, Nurgle Oblits, and Plague Marines everywhere.
Without tailoring, it feels like everything is unkillable. What's the point of even bringing bolters?

Eldar jetbikes and reapers with swooping hawks...just too many important targets which can ruin my day...Wave Serpent? OK. Eldrad? OK. But dice hate me when shooting at bikes, reapers dimantle my artillery and swooping hawks must be dealt completely, or those gakkers jump out and in and throw pieplates

And screamerstar, because its just boring.

this. And just when i was starting to do a little better against my mate who plays nids, now he plays tau. And i thought nids were bad, at least they stand still and dont do that horrible move, shoot then move back in the assault phase thing.

Necrons. Those darned res orbs.....

But in terms of "why am I even here?"
Eldar. They make Necrons look like peace loving, fair playing hippies.

Eldar - "Ha! We have no weakness and everything we have is super awesome!! LOL!"

Seriously, they need some nerf faqs for these guys. Its plain bad game design right there.

On moon miranda.

Just as a general rule, I've never had a fun game against Blood Angels. In almost all cases it was because my opponents were outright cheating, tailoring their lists during my deployment, or spent the whole time (from initial matchup to game finish) whining. The one game that wasn't my opponents fault was because I couldn't get anything to roll right the whole game and wasn't my opponents fault.

That said, I usually dislike facing IG armies. Not because of how they play, but because it's inevitable when I'm also playing my IG and I hate IG mirror matches.

Any army that relies on what I consider "gimmicks" however, I dislike. Stuff like 2+ rerollable cover save jetbike HQ's or daemon deathstars, Imotek, etc. Stuff where an opponent basically gets to do stuff and there's no (or no practical) interaction.

I've never had a fun game against Sisters. Though to be fair, I've never had a game against Sisters to begin with.

IMO, it's not the army, it's the player. I've had fun playing against almost every army. I've had non-fun games against most armies.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Codex - gunline in the corner behind a wall.

Doesn't matter which codex it's being. It is still boring as hell.

Other than that i have no issue with fighting any specific codex, just some of the broken-as-gak combos that some folk come up with from certain units.

I actually kinda like playing against Necrons, because them getting back up is their thing. That's what makes them strong, is that they're hard to kill. On the other hand though, they don't have the firepower of other armies, with such expensive units their firing lines aren't as terrifying. Rather the Necron player moves on the objective steadily, and your goal against them is to stop their inexorable advance.

Contrast that with Eldar, who were always fast and deadly, but are now super hard to kill. Fortune is ridiculous, a psyker test at ld 10, and re-roll all armor saves. Tanks with 3+ cover saves (IG have to pay 30 points for a 6+ cover that only works when stationary).

The bikes really get me, because they're a unit with no downside. They're tough, they hit hard, are so fast that speed has basically become an irrelevant measure for them (60" in a turn, seriously?), and they aren't even expensive. It's like playing a video game where the opponent has the auto-headshot and see-through-walls hack turned on. And hit-and-run is so broken.

Any shooty army parked behind an Aegis Defense Line, especially Tau/IG. Not only does it make every single daemon of Slaanesh in my army borderline useless simply by making the few that survive to CC attack last, but it just makes for an incredibly unfun game. Oh, you're going to park behind a wall, shoot at me and never move? I guess I can either 1) use assault units anyway and get slaughtered or 2) take my own gunline, park behind my own Aegis Defense Line, and play a game of tennis, minus the skill and exercise. Wee! Are we having fun yet?

Any combo that gives your uber unit a 2++ re-rollable save. No. Just no. I will not play you. End of story.

Imperial Knights. They need to cost AT LEAST 100 pts more for what they do. Your opponent doesn't even have to TRY to protect them in any way, these things will soak up ALL of your army's highest strength attacks for at least half the game. But you can't ignore them because they're going to be dropping battle cannon templates on multiple units and stomping/D weaponing to death anything they encounter in CC. An all Knights army has to be the most skill free way to win the game. Just point at something and it dies. BS, and I don't mean ballistic skill.

I imagine that other superheavies are just as bad or worse, but our gaming group only breaks em out for Apocalypse.

40k is 111% science.
