Sounds good looking forward to seeing the next lot of figures. On average how long does it take you to paint a figure?

I only get around 4 hours a night to paint due to my full time job so it can take a while for me to finish a unit/model.

A character takes me around 14 hours, a 5 man squad around 20 hours, a rhino sized tank about 20 too. A large display model can be closer to a month.

I wish i had 4hrs a night ^^ .. It takes me about the same time tbh, still working on my Khorne army

slow and steady wins the race If there's no need to rush....don't.

This is becoming a beautiful army

Im new and started a Blood Angel Army. Seeing your Death Company inspired me to do mine similar to yours. Do you mind if I ask the color and how you painted the ropes on your DC? I love the color.

Sure thing!

I basecoat them warlock purple (old paint) over the black primer > nuln oil wash over the purple > warlock purple layer (leaving the wash in the recesses) > mix 50/50 skull white and warlock purple and highlight the top of each twist.

Paint is nice, and the one on the far left doesn't seem to bad, but the others with their "poses" are just so bad! I don't know how people got into it back then.

Mate, nice paint job. I'd just got some picks done of my BA Army and was going to post but you've put me to shame. Not a contest but you beat me hands down. Oddly we're both building a simalar Army in composition. I'll post soon so you can see. Keep painting those Angels.

Hi! Just wrapped up this razorback. Quite a quick, fun build and my first time using subtle oil paint weathering. Enjoy.

And following the tank theme...just wrapped up this RT era predator

the edge of the robe on the first guy, the blue dude with the tabard. did you freehand that skull and border on the bottom edge? what did you use as a brush for that?!?

Those are all really, really lovely to look at. Such a nice crisp and clean paintjob, very well done, bloody good job there.

Looking forward to seeing a full army picture of them all together. Certainly gives me inspiration to finally get my own Blood Angel army finished.

I just used a fine detail brush with a good point. No special trick, just a steady hand and good brush.

For me the best bit is when you play a game with a fully painted army, standing back and just looking at them on the table in their full glory.

Ok just snapped a few photos of how i have my army displayed. Keeping things as neat as I can.

Army is coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing this being built up to a large force! Do you have a point total in mind or are you just collecting whatever models looks good?

On a side note, the display case in green doesn't look so good with the models given it's "retro" look. You'll probably outgrow it soon - should look into getting one of the commercial display cases.

Badass. I hope to one day be able to paint even half as good as you dude!

Thanks! The tank weathering was achieved using skavenblight dinge and leadbelcher mix sponged on, then highlights of just leadbelcher. Over that I used oil paints to add streaks and dirt etc.

Oh a storm(raven) is coming
