Edit: While I'm here, too much to ask for army specific ones? "Green Tide - A battle forged Ork army respawns all its troops" sorta stuff. Thats what I thought it was at first and was pretty excited, but everyone seems to think its some boring generic bonus

That would be kinda nice. In an ideal situation, they'd have a list of the codices with say...3 selections per codex so you could pick the one that helps your list the most.

Examples for BA

1. The Sanguinor arrives from reserve on turn 2. If your army already includes the Sanguinor, he may instead re enter play from reserves after dying once. At 2000 points game size, and again for every 1000 points after, an additional captain, armed with a jump pack, infernus pistol, and power weapon of your choice, OR a vanguard veteran unit of 5 veterans with jump packs, with a power weapon sergeant, will also arrive from reserve on turn 2. The captains may join any unit in reserve, or board any transport in reserve, including free vanguard veterans. If they do so, the unit they join, or transport they ride in, automatically arrives on turn 2.

2. You gain 1 free Death Company model armed with jump pack, bolt pistol, and chainsword per 200 points in your battleforged army. Units made up completely of these models may choose to remove their jump packs and instead come with a free rhino or drop pod, as long as at least 5 jump packs were removed. Should 16 jump packs be removed from one unit, they may instead come with a free land raider crusader. These models may be added into units of already-purchased Death Company, even exceeding normal unit size, or may be broken into any combination of units, as long as each unit meets the minimum 3 Death Company models. For every 5 Death Company models, one may be armed with a power fist or power weapon of any type, instead of a chainsword, at no cost. For every 15 Death Company models awarded to the battleforged Blood Angels army, They may also receive 1 free chaplain, armed with crozius arcanum, bolt pistol, and jump pack. The jump pack may be removed similar to the Death Company, and counts towards the amount required in obtaining a dedicated transport.

3. All units that pass the test for The Red Thirst at the start of the game instead fail. Any units that already failed, or already have the black rage special rule, gain rampage and +1 Toughness.

I'm guessing it'll be a table you roll on, because random = fluffy and balanced apparently.

Before the battle roll 1D6

1: The army can reroll leadership tests due to fear
2: The army adds +1 to its reserve rolls
3: The army gains an additional victory point if the opposing warlord is killed by their own warlord
4: All infantry models have move through cover (ruins)
5: Any fortifications have the cover save they offer increased by 1
6: Your warlord has It Will Not Die

Gonna be a random table where the results vary from somewhat useful to downright useless depending on your army. You thought you were gonna get something useful without rolling?

One thing I do know is that the bonus is going to be lame. Something like

Your warlord may reroll his warlord trait

you may reroll the claim initiative before the game

you may curse your opponent without being called a cry-baby (once)

They will not do anything to try to balance it, its even doubtful there will be a bonus because that suggests that they know that it is going to be unbalance between battle forged and unbound. I dont think they have thought that far actually

I would like to see a list of bonuses that can give your army character, help to fill up some holes in your list, or simply better adapt to the situation. Eg. if one army is unbound and the other is battle forged, for every 500 points the battle forged army may choose one of the following

1) One unit can have its WS, BS, S, I, A, or Ld increased by one. While this can be taken by an army multiple times and you can give the same unit stat upgrades multiple times, no unit may have the same stat increased by more than one (eg. you can't make a Strength 6 chapter master). This can also be applied to an independent character or special character.
2) The player can add +1 to their reserve rolls (this cannot be taken multiple times)
3) The player can subtract 1 from their opponent's reserve rolls (this cannot be taken multiple times)
4) One unit can take one of the following special rules, Tank Hunters, Monster hunters, Stealth, Move Through Cover, or Fleet (can be taken mutliple times but not by the same unit)
5) The player's warlord has Preferred Enemy (Enemy Warlord)
6) The player may select a single enemy unit (cannot be a dedicated transport) if that unit is destroyed or removed from play as a casualty the battle forged player gains an additional victory point. This unit may be the enemy warlord and if slain can still offer victory points for slay the warlord and firstblood. (this cannot be taken multiple times)

None of this stuff is outright broken alone, sure some devastators with tank hunters or monster hunters is nice, or a blob of guardsmen with stealth can be pretty scary, and BS 4 Battlesuits is something Tau wanted for a while, but none of it will outright win you the battle. It might allow you to be more flexible (see that your opponent has lots of reserves and give them -1 to their reserve rolls, realize that you are playing a Guard player who brought a lone scout sentinel and kill it for an extra ), see that your opponent has lots of tanks and give some units tank hunters or your tank killing units +1 BS, see that you are playing Tau and maybe give some units move through cover, stealth, or fleet so you can close into melee combat with them.

I'm going to guess that Battle Forged armies will likely get Apoc style strategic asset cards to use in game.

Battle Forged is the only option I DO take seriously. I just don't expect GW to Battle Forged armies any meaningful bonuses against unbound

All attacks made by a battle-forged army will always wound on a roll of a 6 at AP2, and will cause a glancing hit on a 6 against armour.

This solves the issue of most weapons being useless against MC or vehicle-only forces...

I suspect it's more that most people aren't expecting GW to have taken it seriously.

I like this idea. If we must have unforged army lists there should be a bonus to sticking to the FOC. A good one.

When a Battle Forged army is facing an unbound army, it may gain one of the following bonuse. The bonus is chosen by the battleforged player, after terrain has been placed, but before missions are chosen.

Monster Hunters: Choose a number of units equal to the number of Monstrous Creatures in the enemy army. Chosen units gain Fleshbane when attacking Monstrous Creatures.

Tank Hunters: Choose a number of units equal to the number of tanks in the opposing army. Chosen units gain Tank Hunters.

Witch Hunters: For each two psychic charges an opponent gains during his Psychic phase, add an extra dice to your pool to Deny the Witch.

Sky Hunters: Choose a number of units equal to the number of Flyers in the enemy army. Chosen units gain Skyfire on non-blast, non-template weapons when shooting at Flyers, and also ignore skimmer Jink saves.

Elite Hunters: All units in your army gain Split Fire.

Hold the Line: All units in the army are Scoring.

Titan Hunters: The army may reroll all hits and penetration rolls when targeting super-heavies.

Re-roll warlord and getting the Objective Secured rule.

I'm interested in how they handle warlord traits. A lot of them rely on USRs that may very well be changed. The majority of useless ones I've seen are in the BRB, which we all know will be getting changed.

So maybe there will be more viable options and a risk/reward to the whole re-roll thing.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

If your army is battle forged, it gains the FORGED NARRATIVE usr.

FORGED NARRATIVE: Your narrative has been forged like a weaboos katana that has been folded over 1 million times at a forge on Mt. Fuji (for clarification, ask your local Tau player). All units in your army are immune to the effects of D weapons, riptides, heldrakes, FMCs, wave serpents, or anything your opponent spends more than 600 points on.
