Mr Burnings avatar identification is amusing me no end, I had thought they were pictures of his current GF

I am still upset with someones switch from attractive asian girl in a blue rash vest , I don't think I have ever payed as much attention to a mod as when he had that avatar ( lol I still cannot remember who it was). hmmm that's an idea, in order to get people to actually pay attention to mods all mods should feature an avatar of some attractive woman (or man) .

I changed mine frequently in my very early Dakka days, but once I settled on the cat pic it's mostly stayed put, with just a couple of minor variations. I think she was sporting horns for a while, and of course the santa hat at Christmas time.

Who is the current lady? I've recognized most of the previous ones, but not her.

Also, I miss LordofHat's raptor. I'm changing mine back on Friday after I see Godzilla. You guys are right, it's kind of jarring when you associate people with their avatars and then they change them.

Several times late at night I could have sworn the cat was a .gif that either winked or the eye twinkled red. In either case it gives me the heebie-jeebies.

Ok, I'm not going crazy then. Sometimes I've sat there and stared at it, but always missed the blink when I was looking directly at it...

I've changed mine a few times (don't know how often though) but I am probably sticking to this one forever as I find it amusing (probably everyone else thinks it just stupid though).

I'm not one for changing avatars often. I mean I do, but that's just because I'm rather flippant. This thread's made me change to a new one, so that's an example of that. Previously I've gone for arty things, then I changed over to one from the novel A Roadside Picnic, before settling for a Fallout poster. Now I'm enjoying a nice cyberpunk lady, even if personally I don't usually use female avatars (though in this case, and with the red one I had around Christmas, the arty fartiness has pushed out that conception of mine).

Yes, it does boggle me when people change their avatars, especially when they've had them for a while. Not so much the regular users, but some of the DCMs and Mods kind of have iconic ones, so I'm wondering who the hell is talking for a bit till I click the username. I'd be screwed one day if everyone changed over to the same picture of Michael J Fox.

That'd be funny. If everyone changed to the same avatar. One of the few other forums I frequent only allows avatars to be chosen from a pre-set list (appropriate to the forum). A couple of users double up on avatars and it can occasionally get confusing. (Especially since there is no ignore function, so occasionally you're scrolling past someone's post only to realize later it wasn't the dill hole you thought it was...)

This is my third avatar so far, and I plan to keep it.
However, as I tend to get distracted a lot, that may change rather suddenly.
And I too miss the raptor.

I've changed mine a few times... I think I had Nick Cave taken from the cover of The Boatman's Call for a while until I changed it to Adam "Baby Bear" DeMamp from the Workaholics episode "The Lord's Force" just because I thought it was funny.

A couple weeks ago I decided to make my avatar match my username so I found a picture of Fry riding the Scooty Puff, Jr. from the episode "The Why of Fry." I'll probably keep this one for the foreseeable future.

I went ages without an avatar, and then I've had a few random ones. I quite like my current one, because I'm such a Tre Manor fanboy and everyone should know it when I'm talking about his miniatures. I might change it when they arrive though!

In fairness to you, one could only make creepy characters in DA:O.

I change my avatar every once in a while but I have been through a fair few. The one I had the longest was Karl Urban as Judge Dredd standing in front of the American flag but I think that was too intimidating. I now how have the Defender of the Universe, which I hope sends the message "I'm Voltron and I'm here to help."

I had 4 so far.

First I wanted wanted something funny concerning the army I started with, hence a loli-cron.

After some time when I figured out Necrons weren't really for me, I used the same dude you see on the banner down below so it looked a bit more "TheDraconicLord".

Then I started with a Satsuki avatar some time after KLK started and switched for this one more or less when KLK ended. And I honestly plan on keeping with the Satsuki avatar/rs for a damn long time.

I've had a fair few. A mexican skeleton was the first IIRC. Then it was the Trollexus, a delightful combination of Trollface and Culexus Assassin. Then the Soul Reaver one and just a bunch of random ones after that. The most recent being the Blade Runner origami unicorn before I switched out to my soul grinder conversion.
