Admech, it may be shell hole but it's a safe hell hole and you may get some cool servo limbs if lucky.

Least your far less likely to be eaten by a tyranoid or a bolter shell to brain.

Said the Mordian Guardsmen on their home planet just before a chaos invasion nearly destroyed the whole thing.

But yeah, I'd still go PDF route.

Probably apprentice at the Munitions factory. Just because making ammunition sounds fun. Plus the pay seems decent. Not too worried about dying. It's the Imperium, you won't get anything done by being scared of dying. And dying is my only option, I'm not letting myself live if I'm missing an arm or leg.....or if my member doesn't work anymore. Munitions factory sounds very much like a reasonable choice. If thats not whats expected, I doubt the Guard will turn down volunteers any time soon. PDF sounds extremely boring. Arbites is paying too little. the Ecclesiarchy. Crew serf also sounds boring, and there's no way I'm listening to the Mechanicus, they might get someone to replace my body parts for better efficiency.

The local regiment. Keep fit, probably get fed, if things go to hell im more able to defend myself and Im also prolonging the lives of the people around me, possible saving them etc etc.

If im sent off planet, then its an experience many people will never have. Plus there is room for career advancement if I manage to live.

Assuming I get fed and have to stay at the barracks I should be rolling in the cash.

Join the guard. Cross my fingers I end up in a regiment where the commanders aren't too dim or bloodthristy. If I do then I cross my fingers I outlive either of those traits.

Pray you end up in an Armoured regiment. Might not be too comfy in a Russ, but at least you're not running out there in a T-shirt.

You probably would have to live in the hive. Admittedly PDF barracks are probably better than regular digs.
Though you'd also have to go around the gakky parts of the hive when there are riots and stuff.

Probably Cadet in the Adeptus Arbites. Low pay to start, potential for promotion (Judge, Repressor Driver, etc), least likely place where you'd get yourself in trouble. Don't have to do much apart from join the occasional snatch squad, go on parade, lecture the occasional noble or quell a riot. Pension will probably be quite nice, and there's probably a load of benefits to being the Emperors local police. There's also enough scope for getting sequestered into an Inquisitors Retinue if you fancy travel as well...

Don't forget all the grimdark paperwork that the administratum layers upon everything, and that you must appease the mechanicus every time you use your equipment to kill someone.

At least in the IG you're considered too unimportant to do paperwork
