What? Have you never destroyed a whole world with just a power sword?

That would smell horribly like bragging if I said I had...

I like the name on the sword. Sure, it might be over the top, but this is 40k. And while it might not be world-clensing exterminatus, if you are close enough to read what’s on the blade, it’s enough to cleanse you from the face of the planet.

No relicblades on terminatorcaptains this codex? well that's just silly, how did they figure that one out? I mean you can buy the guy one while wearing power/artificier armor... so it's not like the 2+ save is some kind of a disqualifier.

I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

It'll be another "spend mondobucks on our webstore rather than those 'orrible indie retailers with their vile discountery, and you too can own this Incredibly Special Unique Space Marine(tm) Captain(tm) in Terminator(tm) Armour!(model is not unique, we may not actually own any of the trademarks we have just claimed, GW PLC will not be held legally liable for any heart attacks, falling-related injuries, or other accidental or health effects caused by the realisation that you've just wasted a load of cash to get a model that is only limited because we are artificially imposing scarcity despite making the model in a material and using a process designed for mass-production)" affair no doubt.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Nice. Old 2nd edition Termie captain needed to be put out to pastures. Better pose than Belial.
I only worry about the price - if monopose Power armour characters are 25 euros apiece, hope this one is not €30...

Why name your sword Excalibur when you can name it Exterminatus instead?

Looks more like an Iron Halo to me.

The Chaos Undivided symbols is a full circle with eight points, not a semicircle with 7.

True, it's just that the spidery arrows aesthetic is sort of a Chaos thing. If I was an Inquisitor I would be investigating this captain on two accounts of heresy:
1) that suspicious Chaos-esque aesthetic
2) that atrocious haircut

It's just fancy trim/a painter showing off.

If you look at the Company Master and Librarian in Dark Vengeance they have similar going on.

Except when it isn't.

Seriously, compare the design on his loincloth to the iron halo on the power-armour captain.

I seriously hope he's a multi part kit like the Chaos one.

At the same time though, I hope not. I'm making a killing on commissions for Belial and generic SM Terminator Captains.

Psychic power that lets you control enemy unit/s for 'x' amount of turns?

Maybe nids get allies?

As HBMC said, he was from Rogue Trader.

May have been still available for a while during 2nd ed, although I don't recall ever seeing him in the shops down here. Most people just converted Terminator Sergeants to use as Captains during 2nd.

Oh he certainly was. He was one of the first separate models I bought after getting Tyranid Attack. Him, the original Assault Cannon Termy and the original Cyclone Termy (with the tiny shoulder launchers!).

I hope he's just a regular stock item like his Chaos equivalent.

Slightly OT, but I wonder if we'll see some more new miniatures specifically for this new release. I was browsing the range and remembered the new Space Wolf on Thunderwolf model has a TS Marine styled like the old 2nd ed(?) Version, but brought up to today's standards. It seems strange they've not followed up on that.

Maybe the Captain will be another Web Store Exclusive that you can only get by pre-ordering the new ruelbooks. Of course if that's true then GW will have taken everything that is bad about the modern video game industry and made it their own.

Hm... does GW gets some sort of blue-balls-syndrome or something if they don't release something for space marines at least once per month? Honestly, You'd think there are no other factions.
As for the Iron halo and the spikes on the cape: I think those are freehand paint and not modelled on, unlike the laurels and ornate scrolls on every surface, so definitely not a chaos-combikit. Also, there is a chaos warlord in terminator armor, isn't there?

I dig him. He looks awesome. I'm really glad that they aren't making the skull-scabbard a thing that's going to persist on the Space Marine models.

And they had a very good reason to use the skull scabbard on this guy. The RT terminator captain was also packing one. So if they wanted to do another retro throwback mini, they should include it.

I think it's because terminators (like infants) can't actually touch their hands together, making them incapable of using a two-handed weapon like a relic blade.
