As was pointed out on page one, each grey hunter model is only shooting one or the other.

From what I can gather, it seems that Assault has gotten precisely zero buffs while shooting is again heavily favoured. And in fact melee has been further nerfed in many places.
I expect 9e to completely drop the assault phase of the game at this rate.

Hmmm, shoot a bolt pistol and the rest of the squad gets to shoot it that has one, and Then shoot a single bolter and the rest of the squad gets to shoot it maybe? It's a stretch but I could see people trying that. That text on the right that's cut out really needs to be included so we can get the full rules and not a summary.
I don't think we can shoot a bolter and bolt pistol either at the same time.

I am actually staring at the book right now (picked up my copy last night). The book actually specifically mentions that rapid fire weapons can kill in their max range, even if firing at half-range. To quote:
"Not that, when determining if a model is out of range, always use the firing weapon's maximum range, even if it was a Rapid Fire or Salvo weapon that was shooting at half range (it can be imagined that whilst these weapons sacrificed accuracy or mobility to gain extra shots, their shots still travel their full range and have luckily hit another enemy)."

Wait... So if I have a 36" range weapon and I miss one of the shots and there is another unit lined up directly behind that one and my laser still has some range I can roll to if the missed laser shots hit the unit behind the primary unit? I see alot of lining up shots in my future if this is how it works now.

No, the stuff in parentheses is just an example of why, in terms of realism (what little there is), you would be able to fire a rapid fire weapon at half-range, but still be able to hit an enemy that's in its full range. There's nothing about being able to hit enemies behind other enemies that your shots miss.

I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that Centurions can fire both their arm mounted weapons and their chest mounted weapons in the same shooting phase? (in reference to 6th ed)
(edit - centurions have decimator protocols that allow this)
Wouldn't obliterators be able to do the same already?
I can't seem to find the rule that states a model can only fire one weapon in the 6th ed rule book.
Sorry im a noob.

Never mind, found it on pg 51.

As now proven by evidence, this entire discussion is precipitated by people who are only reading what they want the rules to be, not what they actually mean.
Trying to figure out why there is an entire thread dedicated to a rules summary callout box being interpreted as the entire section of that rules.

The reason the box was posted is cause i got it from a buddy on facebook and thought others would be interested to see it as well. I myself have said a couple times to apply common sense and go with that ther rules should be. My intention wasnt to open the can of what-if worms.

Yeah, I think the OP plus the first page of comments confuse new people entering the thread and replying before they get to the part that actually explains the context.
So it is probably best if I lock this thread until everyone gets the rules in their hands and understands what is actually going on.
