Subject: The Others - 7 Sins - CMON, Studio McVey and Guillotine Games - Kickstarter now live!
I don't get all the negativity in the comments or here. The game has 16k likes on FB. Minis people have been salivating over for more than a year. Eric Lang just shipped Blood Rage which got awesome reviews and a lot of buzz at GenCon. Yet peopel bitch and moan that not all Sins are unlocked. Yes, that has NO negative effect on potential backers. Blood Rage was the same, but that beat everyone's expectations (Thiago commented that the pessimistic estimate in the office was 200k and nobody went as high as it did).
The tiles are ugly and some sculpts look below par for Jason Hendricks and Remy Tremblay (done by someone else?), the tiles lool weird with their cleanliness and the perspective, but what else is stopping people from pledging right now? Sins WILL be unlocked or I'll paint ALL of my cjaos cultists pink and thy don't eveb worship Slaanesh!

Your new here right??? The complaints aren't bitching and moaning as you said but just people talking about the news and rumors. It is what a forum is for. It got heated for a little bit, but we're all better now. The complaints about the figures are mainly about the lackluster hero figures in comparison to the awesome sin models. CMON need the feedback wether they like it or not, and need to realize they should set a vonsistent standard for the models. Especially with over a year since we first saw them until now. Most people are verbalising their dislike of what they see as problems, which is better than tucking it away and angsting over their disapproval. This helps the industry improve their game quality and reach a broader audience...IF they listen and take the criticism with the praise. CMON may not have the best communications out there, but they did just listen to the backers of ZBP, and change the bases back to the original style after they saw the complaints, so maybe they would listen here as well. It is what a forum is for.

Unfortunately I had it shipped to my parents house due to uncertainty over where I would be living, which means that they will have to send the parcel to my address before I get my hands on it.

You don't get the "negativity", and then you call out things that don't wow you?
In my case, I'm not huge on the "hero" sculpts or hyper-3D tiles - stuff that I'd kinda be locked into using every time I played. But I like the monsters, so I have to decide if I like enough parts that this becomes something I'm going to drop $120 on, versus saving it or dropping it on more SDE stuff.
Aeneades wrote: Yep. You will get a link to the pledge manager in a couple of months time.
(most campaigns CMON also let you join the pledge manager without pledging the $1 but it's worth pledging just for the ongoing updates)
Not to mention the Bolity to leave comments and ask questions.

The Others is about a week to go, and it is likely that they unlock Wrath in the final push.
Nevertheless, I think I'm going to drop the EB that I had grabbed in the first few seconds of the KS opening.
While it'd be nice to have save $10, that assumed I was certain to want this game, and I'd need to lock in and pay the full $100+ right after close.
However, it appears that CMoN is more than willing to let me back at a later date and get the full set of KS exclusive rewards without any financial risk or commitment.
Indeed from looking at Blood Rage, it appears that CMoN let people pledge late right until they sealed the container at the Chinese factory.
Dropping my pledge means I can take a "wait and see" approach to the entire thing, pretty much right until they are ready to ship. All, in exchange for the $10 that I would have saved if I had kept my EB. That's a pretty small price to pay for taking the risk out.
Now if only I could have had done that with Sedition Wars...
While you can late pledge from what I've heard Blood Rage was more of an exception in allowing it to go on so long as they ordered way more of the KS exclusives than they needed in part due to a good number dropping out and asking for refunds over the shipping costs which increased a lot from project to PM this may not happen again

In that case, I guess I'd have until the end of the "regular" Pledge Manager period to Late Pledge or upgrade from $1, which is still pretty good from a risk management standpoint.
I wonder if they are going to throw out the remaining sins as add-on boxes. We're 35k from Envy, and this has been averaging significantly less than 10k a day for a while now. I don't see them getting the roughly 300k needed to finish out the 7 sins in the week left without pulling something out of their hats.

Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast, For it is a human number, Its number is Six hundred and sixty six. And we have just reached it, unlocking for all backers the 6 Envy Abominations, as well as the Kickstarter Exclusive 7 Sins Dice Bag!
And to celebrate this day of darkness, nothing more appropriate than to welcome the Apocalypse itself!
Art by Adrian Smith.
This is a very special Optional Buy we are making available now due to sheer backer excitement. This is something we had initially planned as a later release, but since every day there seemed to be about a dozen people demanding to see the four heralds of the apocalypse, we decided to push this forward and offer it to you guys!
The Apocalypse expansion offers players a whole new play mode, only for the very brave (or very crazy), including the huge and frighteningly detailed figures of War, Pestilence, Famine, Death, and Apocalypse itself! Here's all the Apocalypse Box contains:
5 Big Figures
4 New Tiles
1 New Story Board
1 New Apocalypse Track Board
5 Monster Reference Cards
12 new Upgrade Cards
1 Rules and Maps Leaflet
Backers can get this Optional Buy for $40, and it will available at retail later on for an estimated MSRP of $50. But those who get this item during the Kickstarter campaign, will also get 2 Kickstarter Exclusive Heroes: Kwanita, the Bruiser, and Benoit, the Sniper!
The Avatars of Death, Famine, War, and Pestilence, by Adrian Smith.
Apocalypse represents the next stage in the Hell Club's scheme. They have opened the final gate, unleashing Apocalypse and its four Avatars onto our world. Haven will no longer be taken, it will be razed to the ground! Even the Hell Club is not foolish enough to stand where these entities roam, and have abandoned the city. It's FAITH's mission to stand against Apocalypse itself!
Apocalypse, by Adrian Smith.
Apocalypse introduces its own Story Board, which revolves around the Sins Player attempt to obliterate Haven, employing the Avatars of Apocalypse. This Story Board is not part of any of the 3 story modes (Terror, Corruption, or Redemption), and is played, as usual, with any combination of Sin and Acolytes. There will be 6 different maps for this Story, mixing the 4 new tiles with the tiles from other sets: 2 basic maps using the core box tiles, 2 maps using the tiles from the Gamma and Delta boxes, and 2 maps using the tiles backers have unlocked as KS stretch goals.
This expansion introduces a brand new Apocalypse Track to the game. On this track, instead of drawing new Apocalypse cards as the track advances, new Avatars of the Apocalypse are brought onto the board, eventually culminating with the appearance of Apocalypse itself!
Each of these huge monsters affect the game in a different way:
MONSTERS
DEATH
Master sculpt of the Avatar of Death.
Death is not only a fearsome opponent in direct combat, but it also sows death wherever it roams. Any Hero caught next to it finds his life slowly draining away. Stay away from this reaper of lives, or you won't last long.
FAMINE
Master sculpt of the Avatar of Famine.
Famine drains the city of its resources, leaving heroes starving for aid. A District visited by Famine loses its ability to lend help to the heroes, who will have to look elsewhere for the resources they need.
WAR
Master sculpt of the Avatar of War.
War is not only a great warrior itself, but its a great commander for the forces of the apocalypse. Each monster joining it in a fight becomes fiercer and more dangerous. Don't let War amass an army, or you won't stand a chance.
PESTILENCE
Master sculpt of the Avatar of Pestilence.
Pestilence turns the city into a veritable pool of decay. Corruption tokens around it become more powerful, leading heroes quickly to their doom.
APOCALYPSE
Master sculpt of Apocalypse.
When Apocalypse shows up, the heroes will be hard pressed to hold their ground. This behemoth is surely a beast in combat, but even more insidiously, it is able to take temporary control of heroes, using them as monsters to attack their teammates!
Here's a scale comparison to give you an idea of how big the figures in this box are. Apocalypse is almost 50% taller than the Avatar of Pride! These amazing sculpts are by Jacques-Alexandre Gillois and Jason Hendricks.
Scale comparison of the figures.
The Apocalypse box contains 4 new City Tiles to set the stage for the final confrontation. These tiles connect the New City with the Old Town, featuring brand new locations. These include an opulent Opera House, a decaying Vehicle Graveyard, a bustling Chinatown market, and a creepy Amusement Park. We should be able to show you the artwork for all these tiles in the coming days.
The Amusement Park tile (unfinished)
With all these new terrors around, the heroes will need some extra aid. The Apocalypse box brings 12 more Upgrade cards to shuffle into your inventory deck, adding more firepower and different strategies for the heroes. There are 6 different cards, with 2 copies each, featuring things like a magic blade that becomes more powerful as the Apocalypse Track advances, armor that heals you when you wade into spaces full of fire or corruption, and holy books that reduce the power of Avatars.
As a special treat for those that get the Apocalypse box during the Kickstarter, we are adding two Kickstarter Exclusive heroes. These characters will not be part of the retail version of the Apocalypse box.
Benoit - Sniper
A brilliant mind, paired with a strong body, and amazing marksmanship. Benoit fires his rifle with mathematical accuracy. When he attacks, he may be able to heal wounds or corruption depending on his prediction of the shot's results.
Master sculpt of Benoit.
Kwanita - Bruiser
A fierce and proud warrior, Kwanita can hold her own against any opponent. Never one to shy away from a fight, the taste of her own blood only gives her more rage in battle. The more wounds she takes, the more powerful her attacks become!
Master sculpt of Kwanita.
If you're interested in purchasing this optional buy, please just click the "Manage Your Pledge" button on the The Others: 7 Sins Kickstarter page and in the pledge manager add the amount of the items you'd like to get. We'll sort out what your extra money is going towards after the campaign has closed and we've sent out our Pledge Manager.
I still wish they'd sell these miniatures in resin too - maybe McVey will some day?

Subject: The Others 7 Sins CMON Studio McVey + Guillotine Games KS @ $685K - APOCALYPSE UPDATE on Pg.27
And now we see how they're going to raise the extra cash to unlock the remaining stuff. Those minis are awesome enough that any backer should pay the extra $40 without any hesitation. Well played.
Necros wrote: Wait.. I thought it already was the apocalypse...? Should they have called this Apocalyser? Apocalypest? Assistant to the Apocalypse?
I think I'm liking these avatar sculpts better than the regular ones. Digging that reaper fella the most.
Yeah, the Apoc box has everything I like about the core game in the monsters. Famine's weird deflated buttcheek/colostomy bag thing is freaking me out a little though. Otherwise, that's just crazy.
I noticed someone mentioned that you had to buy them while the KS was active but that doesn't make sense to me since the funds aren't allocated until the PM. I think they're probably just KS exclusive in the same sense as any other CMoN.. if you get it during the PM it's in.
I'm not overly fond of the melee characters (minus the lycanthropes) but I do understand the need for them where the game's mechanics are concerned.

Looks like if you add for it in the pledge manager you get the 2 bonus heroes that arent part of the retail box.
