Similar to the book thread, I want to enlist your help in finding a movie.

It must have played on cable or basic cable(?) some time in the late 80's or early 90's. All I remember is a scene where a giant monster was chasing a car across a desert. The monster looked like a Kaiju, in that it was a man in a suit scaled to a hundred feet tall or more. The budget looked sub-Godzilla. Any ideas?

I don't think that's it, but thanks for giving me another movie to check out.

I think the monster was more bipedal and gribbly-looking.

All I can think of are the Tremors movies, but those are worms, or little runner things, not Kaijus.

I don't know? I'm familiar with most of those films, but none of the others seems to have the monster I'm thinking of. It looked kind of like a Triffid, but it was huge and walking behind a car that was driving through the desert...or dry plains.

It certainly wasn't Tremors. In fact, I think I saw this before Tremors ever existed.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The monster may not have been the main theme/antagonist/point of the film.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The film had the feeling of a super-low budget American film, kind of like that movie where frog people take over texas, or the film where the actor who plays Bill S. Preston ends up in a circus freak show. I just can't bring up any other memories than a giant, messy-looking monster following a car.

I think it was black or dark brown and looked like a triffid mixed with Titanosaurus... It's been decades.
