I don't know how old you are but you're sure as the Warp acting like 15 year old right now. You do know that Castiel might have been struck with sudden urgent emergency that means he has had no time to update everyone on his status right now? What if he had a major power outage and won't get power back for weeks? How is he suppose to tell us he won't be online then hmmm?

Do yourself a favor and think before you spew obscenities cursing someone for being born, might make you look less like a colossal Emperor Titan size anus.

Yes, sorry guys, I'm afraid the game is probably over for now. We lost a lot of players and momentum with the breaks I had out, so sadly this is the end. I'll post up a conclusion on Sunday or Monday.

And Trondheim, you are a user that I have a lot of respect for. However, I find it frankly rather hypocritical and insulting of you to call me lazy when you have the cheek to badger me about wanting something to write up, yet when I bust a gut to get something out for you that you could write a decent post on this is all I get back:

Your character killed 3 genestealers in this combat and yet there is nothing to show for it except 4 measly sentences. EDIT: In fact, looking back, your posts never even exceeded 5 lines of text. Some of the other users probably wrote more in 1 post than you did in the whole RP, and unlike you they resolved their combat results. You're a good writer, Trondheim, I know because I've read a fair bit of your stuff. You could easily have matched the stuff they were writing, but you didn't. You didn't put any effort into this RP at all. Asking me to put effort in and insulting me for not progressing the game when you do nothing with what I do put up is insulting and disrespectful.

I certainly enjoyed it while it lasted and long wait is not an issue for me.

If you obtain enough time to lead another roleplay thread, I am up for it.

Anyway, sorry for the way this ended. We should have our internet back for good now. Sadly due to my mobile contract I had to limit my data usage to important stuff like checking emails for uni and work, so wasn't able to pop in and explain my absence. I might run a sequel to this sometime in the future, and I'm planning a fantasy game sometime soon over on Darkstorm if anyone is interested in that kind of thing.

I would be greatly interested in a sequel to this if that would be possible, I'm sure others will join in, you have quite the following as a DM (a well earned following no less ) and Ashiraya has already thrown her hat in, so I can't imagine it would take that long to get a few more people interested.

I would be more keen on a reboot than a sequel, allow a sequel implies an ambiguous ending and thus my character surviving.

I plan to roll dice and finish the combat and the mission by putting you forwards into the cavern of the Norn Queen in the next fight and writing up the results. I might do a sequel after that. If you would prefer that I post the combat results up here so you can post your actions as an IC post before I cap it all off with a final post then I can do that instead?

Personally I feel the shortlived nature of this game warrants a reboot more than a sequel game. It'd be different if there were 10+ pages of work but with only 2 pages I think a reboot would be more appropriate.

Yep, especially if we can guarantee commitment from the players. We had a lot that just dropped - but metaphorically and literally in the case of that one guy.

83 posts over 3 pages isn't an insignificant amount, mind you.

Simply due to the fact I quite like my character I'd enjoy perhaps writing this one off and taking the "survivors" forward into a sequel.

I think the group we had at the end works well. Even Trondheim but he won't be back.

Renzo, Arthilos and Kereon all shoot the Lictor. They all wound it once as it leaps into combat, killing it before it can be effective, a round from Renzo scoring a kill-shot through the eye.
Ilin, Ignis and Solem shoot the surviving Pyrovores. Solem wounds one, killing it. Return fire is ineffective. Combat: Solem wounds the surviving pyrovore, before Ignis finishes it with a knife thrust.

Both squads burst into the Norn Queen’s chamber, racing for the objective. 2 Hive Tyrants move to intercept them. Each quad tackles one each, while Nirn races for the Norn Queen (hive tyrant, WS 6 S and T 6, 3 wounds and 3+ sv).

Squad Solem engage their Tyrant witha barrage of fire. Kereon scores 2 wounding hits and Ilin scores 1, Kereon’s shots are saved but the Tyrant squeals in anger as the hissing acid from Ilin’s shot finds its mark. Ignis and Solem fail to wound. Asiraya hits and wounds the beast. The Tyrant charges into combat, hitting 2 marines, and almost wounding Ilin. Fortunately the marine’s plate holds up to the onslaught. The marines hit back, Solem scores a solid hit but fails to wound. None of the other marines are able to penetrate the creature’s guard.

Squad Nirn fire on the creature approaching them. Morr’s power swells their prowess. Raphael wounds the creature, the rest are unable to harm the creature. The Tyrant wounds Raphael in combat, its other hit glancing off Haraldson’s armour. Morr wounds it once, but is unable to kill the creature’s mind. Haraldson scores another wound on the creature. Raphael hits the monster, but fails to breach it’s armour. Willie fails to hit.

Nirn fires on the move, scoring a hit but failing to wound. He strikes it in combat 5 times, but only wounds 1 time. It hits back, scoring a deep cut in Nirn’s armour, but failing to wound him.

The first Tyrant strikes squad Solem again, wounding Ilin and Solem badly. The marines rally and fight back, Arthilos calling for them to duck as his weapon flashes, burning another wound from the tyrant. Solem stuggles on despite his wound, his mace crushing the skull of the Tyrant with a contemptuous swing. His squad is badly beaten but rally to face a new threat as genestealers and multitudes of gaunts start pouring into the cavern.

Tyrant 2 strikes at the marines swarming it. 1 slashing talon comes within a hair of ending brother Willie a deep gouge in his gorget a testament to his luck and the skill of the Mechanicum in producing and maintaining his armour. Another claw throws Haraldson back, a deep wound in his side. Morr tries to wound the creature, but is batted aside. Haraldson charges, but fails to do any damage. Raphael scores 2 hits, but cannot wound the creature. Willie’s power fist powers forwards 2 times, felling the creature.

Nirn wounds the Norn Queen again, but is held away from wounding the creature by its slashing talons.

“Sergeant Nirn, duck!” calls Arthilos as the tide of lesser Tyranids boils closer in defence of their queen. Nirn hurls himself backwards and the multi-melta fires, vaporising the head of the Norn Queen. The tide of lesser creatures revert to instinctive behaviour, the genestealers and gaunts tearing into whatever is nearest them, while the hormagaunts fall slack and motionless.

Nirn reaches to his waist, the battered and bleeding marines gathering round and easily despatching any creature foolish enough to attack them, and presses a button at his waist, while opening an encoded vox channel. “This is Nirn, mission completed.”

“Affirmitave, Sergeant Nirn, your position is locked in. Prepare for transport.”

“Roger that,” Nirn replied, and the squad vanishes in a teleport flare, ready for their next mission.

Quite the ending, bravo. So can sign-ups begin for the equal?

Just wanted to say i am sorry i kind of disappeared. When everything stopped for a good week or two, i did continue to check up on this forum quite a lot to make sure i didn't miss anything when it started back up again. But alas, all was quite and i eventually stopped checking and forgot in all the ''excitement'' of all those lovely exams i had to do before the end of the school year.

Really sorry guys, but if we do a reboot (which i would LOVE to see) i would promise that i would stick to it no matter what kind of pace it went at. It's now the middle of the Summer Holidays and i have nothing to do, oh please won't you let me image myself righteously smashing Xenos heads together? Pretty please.

Well, you guys can stick up some IC posts of the finale results if you want, to whet your appetites for round 2. I'll get planning what we can take on in the next round.

So how do I determine what my WS, BS ect. ect are? Are they based on the unit I choose to be from the tabletop? Or are those made by you/us?

Check the OP and determine your class. The position of Sergeant is filled so you'll either be a (Close) Combat Marine or a Kill (shooty) marine. The stats are fixed.

Does anyone have an issue with me writing actions for their character? If you have wish to write it up yourself let me know, otherwise I have a full paragraph done that covers everyone in the Pyrovore/Lictor combat.
