Is there anyone who makes the grass mats like the Citadel cloth backed grass mats that Games Workshop was selling but discontinued?

I think GW just rebadged a product (as they had done several times over the course of their life) for that mat.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Not sure about who distributes in the US, but you should get a Mat'O'War - they are far superior to the GW mat

The only problem with the Citadel mat is that is creases appallingly whenever it gets folded away which means having to iron the damn thing every time I want to use it. Do the Mat of War mats have the same problem? If not I may well pick one up.

Don't know about who makes them, but just about any hobby shop that deals with model trains would probably have something similar (and probably better quality).

That's a big claim. For all of GW's problems, the mat was actually super good value. Cheap and super sturdy fabric backing, and the flock was really durable. The only real difference I see with the grassy mat'o'war is its got slightly fuzzier grass.

I'm tempted by the desert mat'o'war though. It's hard finding a good desert mat.

It's the closest thing I have seen to a dedicated flocked table - not sure how they do it, but yes it is better than the GW mat. Although, it is actually more expensive than the GW one I think as well (which should tell you something!)

My one came folded but after unfolding, rolling it instead and an iron you get rid of the folds. They are so durable, the guy from Antenociti said that they were in such demand before (they generally sell out every time fresh stock comes in) that they sold the display copies that had been out and in use for some time, and they were pretty much as new. Read about people putting them in a washing machine and all sorts, although I haven't tried that yet

Most mats in Model Railways shops are made of paper and will tear and fade. The Citadel ones where fabric based and very durable.

Welcome to Fantasy 40k

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.
