The other thread seemed a little negative, but I liked the idea so I sto- err, borrowed the idea, and made it more positive. : D

What are the BEST things about playing your army? The things that you like most; that might even bring a smile to your face when you remember them?

I'll start.

For my Sisters of Battle:

-The whole Holy Warrior thing they've got going on. Love the Holy Warrior thing, be it Paladins in World of Warcraft, Sisters of Battle in WH40k, and... such.

-The minis that are still great almost two decades later. Only reason I want plastic ones is for heretical conversions and ease of painting. Heck, they could keep them monopose, exactly the same poses as they have now, maybe give them less built-in weapons so they can be swapped out for different ones - so a separate piece for the hands and weapon - and I would replace my entire army with plastic ones as quickly as I can afford to buy the models. Wouldn't even ask for extra detailing or anything like that.

-Feeling secure when I describe how pitiful the whole "Horde Favoritism" thing is on the WoW forums, compared to GW's treatment of the army. And I LOVE topping off those posts with, "And Sisters players don't even complain as much as you guys do." Makes me feel good in a vengeful sort of way for all the times they've clogged up the forums.

My Black Templars hate everything. Your Mary Sue fanmade faction that you say everyone loves? Nope, Black Templars hate them for being heretics. They hate Xenos, they hate everyone not Imperial, they hate the mutant and they definitely hate you. Their tanks are also piss easy to paint.

I love my Tau, They are for me the best faction. I love their models, I love their fluff, I love their characters, And I'm finaly getting my friends to like facing them and making them more fun to play as i'm learning how to move them and still fight! Muahaha! ^_^

My Space Marines. The iconic elite goons on steroids of the grimdark universe.
I've noticed that I happen to possess a colour scheme and name that are't so usual, making playing with them even more satisfying. I've yet to see a marine army with similar colours.

And of course: WE ARE THE SPEHSS MEHREENS! WE ARE THE EMPRAH'S FUREH! (yes - in-jokes, in-jokes everywhere)

Imperial Guard: Tanks. Tanks. Tanks.

Space Wolves. I like burying people in a wave of 60+ ceramite clad, demented barbarian killers.

Blood Angels. The army is too goofy not to love. Telepathic dreadnoughts, forlorn hopes full of the magically insane, close air support platforms, fast tanks with AP3 heavy flamers, and the ability to pretend to be normal Space Marines make for a hilarious combination.

Sisters: Being underestimated. Nothing gives me greater pleasure than patiently hearing out how unfortunate my army is, only to defeat my opponent. My meta does not have a lot of trash talking, or anything nasty, but I've heard things like "oh I didn't realize you were playing Sisters, I wouldn't have brought such a powerful list." Best feeling ever is to beat those.

OH, it happened to me. I had a laspistol lieutenant take the last wound off a charging hellbrute in Overwatch. It was wonderful.

And yes, IG... killed that squad? Here's another two!

What?

I mean, I've once had a Chaos Rhino ground and indirectly kill an already wounded Flying Dakka Tyrant with it's Combi-Bolter, but that at least is theoretically possible...

Blood Angels: For the same reason you like the paladinesk feeling of SoB.
My favourite paladin-set in WoW is season 11 and I think the Blood Angels give the same feeling.
We have Sanguinary Guard and Death Company in the same army, it's marvellous! Soo many characters, great lore and their entire cult.
Every time I think about changing my army I take one look at the Sanguinor and I remember why I will never stop playing them.

Necrons: Because you cannot beat a possessed dynasty of robots.

I haven't gotten to play yet, but I love the idea of Overwatch shenanigans with my MT Scions.

Tyranids: Because every time I go to a GT or play someone I haven't met before, they always ask me:

"How do you feel about the nerfs from the new codex/edition/FAQ?"

Plus, I love playing an army that just works differently from everyone elses. If you play Marines, you understand how Chaos Marines work. Tyranids are just unique.

Chaos Marines. All the epicness of Marines, plus awesome evil.

Gamewise, that pretty much my entire army is at least decent in melee. I have had Zagstruk's Stormboyz assault my Havocs only to get absolutely crushed in the ensuing melee. (Lost the Champion to Zagstruk's claws, unfortunately, but it was still a result to behold.)

The imagery (and how it looks on the table top) of Valkyries streaking through the atmosphere dodging incoming enemy flak before unloading a payload of Rockets to clear the landing zone. My Elysians then embark from their Valkyries and begin to secure the area while the second wave of fighters made up of Vendettas, Vultures and Avenger Strike Fighters come in to support as my infantry begin to push up the field.

Tau Farsight Enclaves:

An army entirely composed of Crisis Suits and Riptides who despite being continuously outnumbered meet their foes head on. The army looks amazing on the table top (especially when x24+ Crisis Suits are standing up against a massive Ork WAAAAAAGH or a splinter of a Tyranid Hive Fleet.

How does Strength 3 even scratch AV12?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

As per my main armies though...
CSM- So many story ideas! Besides that, I can't help but cackle as I tend to get ridiculous rolls at the most convenient of times. Plasma pistol when a beginner, some how explodes a vehicle changing the fates of the game. Oh how fitting for a Tzeentch Chaos Lord.
IG- There is nothing as satisfying as holding the line, heroic and sacrificial charges whilst tanks blast your foes (or just going full vehicle and cruising around)
Chaos Daemons- BEHOLD MY MAGIC! Suffer glorious close combat!

I play Ulthwe Eldar (have since the new codex dropped). All of a sudden all my Warlocks and Farseers became just a wee bit better.

Now I just need to invest in some Daemonettes of Slaanesh so Eldrad can complete his corruption...
