Put Shadowsun in squad, take her special shield drones, ???, enjoy your "mini deathstar".

I usually did run them with Shadowsun lol

Unfortunately, when I got into 40k I lost track of my Dwarfs in fantasy. It kinda became the same when I began my Guard army.

It really sucks that I have the attention span of a dog.

What have you bought, lovingly assembled, painted, used once or twice and has never left the shelf since?

Under the two last codexes, I've never fielded Celestians even once, since a squad of ten has the same cost as the same squad of Marines, with -1 in T, S, I, Cd, no ATSKNF, no squad tactics, no chapter tactics, and reduced weaponry (no plasmas, no missiles...)
But since Sisters only have one kind of minis for the Celestians, Battle Sisters, Dominions and Retributors, I suppose Celestians don't really count.

Welcome Repentias and Penitent Engines.

Scary close combat units that are both slow and fragile. T3 footslogging infantry in bikini on one side, AV11 open topped walkers on the other.

You can make your repentias borrow the Rhino of another squad, but unfortunately, I tend to play against talented players who seem to have some kind of 6th sense: when they see crazy girls with giant two-handed chainswords steal a Rhino and rush toward their lines, they want to destroy that vehicle.

Well, they look does it for some people

To dude above me-feel free. 7th actually made them far more fair. even harder to kill, but they don't just brutalize silly number of 3+ dudes without any need for strategy or tactics. (baleflamer neck fix and VS change combined had this effect)

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Mine would be the Baneblade I bought, assembled, and painted over the course of a week. Got it all detailed and looking spiffy for the Apoc game taking place at the end of the week, I've used it maybe once since then (and this is after about 2 or so years now). After its performance was decidedly lackluster with shots going nowhere near where I placed them, having literally every shot scatter over the course of the game, and it managing to barely kill 200 points' worth of models, I shelved it. Though, in fairness, I also don't really play Apocalypse (or Escalation) so it's not like I have much cause to use it anyway.

In my defense, it was half-off.

Except that the Knights are still not as good as normal TH/SS terminators because their weapons are only AP4. What they gain doesn't make up for losing that S8 AP2 hammer.

I'd say Knights are better than TH/SS. The ability to hit at initiative makes them better against anything not in PA/TDA (ie. most units in the game), the God-mode activation makes them better MC/Vehicle killers, and the Shieldwall makes them easier to get into combat

I don't have "units" that never leave the shelf, I have ARMIES!

As of now, everything. I have not played a game in way too long. Before now, back when I played, it was/is my IG. I have had IG pretty much since I started playing 40k, and I've played maybe once with my Cadains, and never played my Steel Legion.

Assault Marines, I have always liked them but have never had the points to take them out. Now I have a 10 man squad of regular assault marines and a 10 man squad of Vanguard that have never seen battle.

Never played my Necrons, then again, I've never had a big enough force to play with.

My Nids. Almost 3000 points and none of them have touched a board.

About 4 editions ago Fantasy was the last time my Skaven came out to play. The poor things don't even have a shelf to leave, just a box covered in dust.

About 2 to 3 editions ago Lizardmen that have not left their dark box somewhere in my basement.

Too much... Ruberu has a sad face now...

I feel so sorry reading this for the 'nids players. Hell of alot of poor nids shelved... They just want to be loved!

*ahem*
Anyway for me I have perma-shelved:
2 Predators
10 Terminators
Chaplain
Standard Dreadnought

I do like my dread, but I rarely find a use for him. The rest are just rubbish imo.
