that's the week deal offer at my surf shop...
when someone rents a board for a week, they receive a free bar of wax, and an 8-pack of Pacifico...
the customers love it!!!
as a longtime fan of Space Wolves, i can't say there is anything here that gets me excited, model-wise...
Logan had better be even more awesome than his current version...
if the wolf-sled is cool looking, even better, but i was not sold on the High Elf eagle-boat, so we'll see...
Bjorn is not bad, but i already own the old metal one...
i might paint up the storm shield and axe version of this plastic kit, but right now nothing is making me reach for my money...
the transport looks alright, but not enough to collect it for it's own sake...
oh well, at least i still have the awesome Termie kit to mess with...
i am looking forward to the Great Companies book, though...
cheers

It would fit the fluff of Space Wolves and let's be honest, if they started marketing 40k brand beer like Fenrisian Ale or Lion El'Lager, who among us wouldn't buy that?

The Long Fang edition is one of those items that can only be described as a true collector's piece.
I don't know, I'm fairly sure I could have a crack at describing it in a number of different ways...
Also, for those considering "investing" note that the Companies Of Fenris is "as yet unreleased" not exclusive to the box.

I don’t think Close Combat Dreadnaughts NEVER get into combat. I think it is difficult not impossible. Both of the examples above given to not taking a few things, like bad rolls, sucky rolls on Armor Penetration, Rolling a 1 on the Damage Table. I know this is not 5th Edition, but it is not 6th either, you still need to roll a 7+ to cause and explosion [And with Venerable Status that becomes harder] or you have to Glance them to death.
MurderFang has some advantages than most Close Combat Dreads, “It Will Not Die”. So you don’t kill him, he could be regaining Hull Points every turn.
As I stated earlier if you do thing right only a few units will get the shot at the 3 units that just came in Drop Pods.
Most of us who field them also are not fielding them for their combat ability. We are fielding them because they look fun and the “Cool Factor”. If we can get MurderFang into combat and kill off 5-7models once every 3 or 4 games we are happy little Wolf-Campers.
I just checked sold listings for the warboss coins. $46. Daaamn. I was going to say I'd grab the SW ones, but not at that price.

No i think you are wrong on that, i have the new white dwarf in front of me and it reads like this:
"Add in his high Weapon Skill, the fact that the Murderclaws are Master-crafted and they have Shred, and you'll be hitting and wounding with around seven Strength 8 AP2 Attacks a turn against most foes."

Yeah, because White Dwarf ALWAYS gets rules right when they are writing about new models and/or codices.
"As a celebrated warrior of the Chapter, the Venerable Dreadnought can choose his wargear from the Chapter's extensive armory. This multi-part plastic kit includes many of those weapons, from the apocalyptically cold helfrost cannon to the great wolf claw - a larger, more powerful version of the lightning claws carried into battle by Wolf Guard Terminators. Other Dreadnought pilots eschew the use of ranged weaponry entirely, preferring to carry a Fenrisian great axe and Blizzard Shield, two of the Chapter's most revered artefacts and deadly weapons in the gauntlets of such esteemed warriors."

"This is a different way of fielding your Space Wolves - you must have 2 HQ choices (but you can have up to 6) and 2 troops. This homes in on the heroic nature of the Space Wolves - almost every unit in the army could have a character leading it. Not only that, troops led by Independent Characters hunt as a pack, and gain the Outflank ability on a 4+."

Depending on how the psychic works out, 6 rune priests would be hilarious.
Also, I'm not surprised that a Zord is a week late.

And they all start mastery level 2 right? You'd need a bucket for your warp charge dice.
Yeah, problem being that's probably 600-900 points of your army, but still funny.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Another question is whether all the extra HQ's and Outflank will be worth Obsec.

Not sure if compliment or to be insulted! I meant the Ginyu Dreadknights. I think I'll only buy GW models to make silly things out them. GrimDark™ Serious.
It was meant as a compliment. That model qulaifies as the most disturbing 40K I have ever seen.
Wow the writijg m just keeps getting worse..blizard shield? Apocalypticly cold helfrost cannon? Imperium doesn't invent new tech except they do all the time now. Such a fluff killer that each chapter of space marines uses unique wargear..who the hell makes it or designed it? Variations...sure but new stuff? Thats just blatantly against imperium fluff.

Except that they always did. They just do so slowly.
And most of the 'new' tech that has been introduced over the years isn't actually 'new', but is instead retconned 'old' tech. Once it's introduced into the fluff, it's always been there.

Space Wolf player must replace half of his words with murder or some other Beowulfesque fantasy era vocabulary while Murderfang is in play.
Opposing player gains d6VP for murdering Murderfang, thus beating him at his own game. However, the Space wolf player also gains the d6VPs rolled since a murder happened regardless."

Dreadnought Axe and Shield:
Fenrisian Greataxe S=userx2 AP2 - Mastercrafted
Blizzard Shield S=user AP2 - Grants a 3+ Invulnerable save against all attacks originating from the Dreadnought's front side
Wolf Scouts Special Rules (the significant ones):
Infiltrate
Move Through Cover
Scout
So no 'Behind Enemy Lines' anymore
Wolf Guard upgrades for Blood Claws and Grey Hunters can indeed have TDA
Wolf Guard Terminator Heavy Weapons are 1 per 5 full models as before (clarification)
Wolf Guard Terminators have also overcome their distrust of teleporters, they can now Deep Strike.
Power Armor Wolf Guard Ranged Weapon options:
Stormbolter 5 points
Combi-bolter 10 points
Plasma Pistol 15 points
Not much, but I bring what I can.[\quote]

That wolfguard in terminator armor squad leaders actually sounds pretty cool, sure I could come up with some interesting stuff with that(I know they could before, but now I can do it with an allied detachment easily)
People who stopped buying GW but wont stop bitching about it are the vegans of warhammer

Dreadnought Axe and Shield:
Fenrisian Greataxe S=userx2 AP2 - Mastercrafted
Blizzard Shield S=user AP2 - Grants a 3+ Invulnerable save against all attacks originating from the Dreadnought's front side
That's really awesome, will definitely field one of them
a dread with a shield + hellfrost cannon could probably be really powerful too

Unless the axe and shield are a combo...
I like how the shield has a weapon profile, so can be destroyed... (And is ap2)
Be prepared for fist fights over side arcs.

The 3++ is as much as we could hope for with the Dread.
And, indeed, if you can somehow manage to slap a helfrost cannon and the shield onto it, well... that'll be one hell of a rifle-nought.
My eternal cynicism says that you'll have to exchange a Dread's ranged weapons to take the axe and shield as a pair though, like the Wraithknight's option to swap both Wraithcannons for the sword and shield.
