This is his normal stat line
WS:7, BS:5, S: 6, T:6, W:5, I:7, A:4, LD:10, Sv: 2+
he has a 60% chance of getting iron arm which for one warp charge brings him to
WS:7, BS:5, S: 9, T:9, W:5, I:7, A:4, LD:10, Sv: 2+
and makes his force weapon AP2
Can't hit him with 2+ Armor guys any more,
Toughness is too high to make shooting viable (S4 guns cant even hurt him) (even a S8 shot needs 5+ to wound)
I can only think of getting lucky with an Instant Death Weapon
but "being lucky" isnt exactly a solid strategy
HOW CAN U STOP HIM?

but rolling iron arms is now just half the battle, the other half is actually casting it.
Further he no longer can fly, so he is stuck running at 6" a turn, so it is possible to just ignore him.

Also playing against super psyker lists will be an issue. good luck getting passed 30-40+ warp charges against dedicated daemons lists.
he still doesn't have EW right? (i dont recall)
and just incase, DE crazy anti psyker box thing would work well too (with a grizzly tropy forcing rerolls of LD checks)

Purge soul Psychic Shriek and other leadship value based witchfires can still hurt him just as easily no matter his toughness.
He's high toughness, that's great. That can be really great. But WH40K is not such a poorly made game that someone with a 2+ armor save and T9 will win every game he plays, sorry bud.

To answer a few questions, No he has no invul, but can get easily be paired with a Sanguinary Priest to give him Feel No Pain.
And thanks to people who are giving tangible advice (Psychic Shriek!)
Saying generic statements like "Dark Eldar laugh at him" doesn't really help me understand anything.
I should also add that I'm an Ork player, so I dont really have access to pretty much any of the solutions mentioned.

Well thats fair enough.
Simply put DE has pretty much nothing but poison and high strength low ap shooting attacks and can pump out A LOT of it.
As well they have the "Crucible of Malidiction" That forces a LD Test (on3d6?) if within range that if failed just removes the model.

Another easy way to nullify him is to simply big Mephiston down. A swarm of gaunts, guardsmen w/ a priest and other such things can easily just make your super death guy flail around for most of the game doing nothing much.

Also SW lost their codex-specific powers along with BA, and GK now generate from Sanctic and thus don't have Warp Rift.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

With his 2+ armor you truly can't assume this. Fine, shoot with poisoned shots and you wound a lot, but unless those are also AP1/2 (which poisoned weapons rarely are), you will need 30 wounds, which propably means at least twice as much shots to kill him.

60 shots to effectively take him down isnt that bad 60 kroot with sniper ammo and a few squads of marker support is about 500 points (also a great amount of troops to hold things) can output about that many with markerlight boosts + on wounds they are ap2 on 6s so you would need less.
On top of that Dark eldar can pump out like 12 poison splinter shots out of 1 venom alone without the guys inside and most DE iv seen run 6 of them as troop carriers anyway.

If he ends up with Endurance on top of Iron Arm that removes Instant Death weapons too, of course he's still only one very slow marine.
Has anyone figured in if the BA player actually built a Mephstar and what it would take to kill it? I only ask because Mephiston running around by himself is pretty rare, you'd probably see Corbs and a couple of other guys running with them.

Id love to see the mega mephist of the north star
Usually they will have Loth or Tiggy as the T4 for hopefully Gates (though tiggy perilings on doubles is possible OR to be safe telekinesis and the 12" shunt would probably be better)
The whole thing will still have issues with mass poison for sure, any demolisher cannons will make em sad unless they invisibility (which is the greatest psychic crutch this edition as was prescience last edition)
Also heavy psykic daemons could completely out warp that star while return firing all sorts of crazy tzeench magic.
The final coffen would be that that star is increadabily expensive (if you go full ham on characters) so you would just avoid it and go for objectives and win.

Mephiston + Corbulo in a Stormraven was a popular idea at the beginning of 7th.
Note that as you wound on majority, the higher T value applies when there are equal amounts of different values.
So just for the sake of argument, think what would happen if Mephiston got Iron Arm there.
Corbulo would have T9 with 3+ armor and 2+ FnP. If failed, just Look Out Sir them to Mephiston on a 2+ and you have 2+ armor with 5+ FnP.
Phist-star it was called, I think... Automatically Appended Next Post: krodarklorr wrote:Uhh, this guy I know just puts Mephiston in a Stormraven. IS that not a viable strategy anymore or something>?
Overall this is basically the best plan to field him. Costs you a lot but it's worth it.

You can join a IC to a character so long as it is not a vehicle or a MC.

In 7th edition the only thing ICs cant join is vehicles and monstrous creatures. Mephiston is neither of those, so Corbulo, for example, can join him to creat a majority toughness 6 unit with fnp.

The only important thing to keep in mind is to LoS the S8+ shots to Mephiston as he can survive them.
Even with Majority Toughness 9 he would still die with Instant Death which can't be FNP'd.

He can't buff himself while in the Raven. If he doesn't get out as soon as it comes in, then you get a turn to try and shoot it down, and deal with the normal unbuffed meph.
