That is amazing for just 6 days of working on this bad boy. At this rate you'll have it done within another week!

Is the carapace meant to look salvaged from different Titans? If so that is a tits idea, I never thought much about it. But Chaos doesn't have the manufacturing resources the Imperium does. as of such their repairs are often more haphazard.

Thats not really the idea I had in mind. Although I may have to steal it. Lol.
Mymain army is iron warriors, so the titan will be in their colour scheme. I think it looks a little out of place atthe moment because the rest of the model is just basecoated. Eventually it'll match up with everything.

Thanks dude. I've been lucky enough to have some days off work, so I've managed to get a fair bit done. Dont be fooled though, theres still a massive amount left to do.

Seriously, i think I've wrecked my eyes painting stripes. Getting the damn things to line up was an absolute pain, and I spent so long staring at them they wouldn't stay still. Lol.

Anyway, ive still got the warpflesh on the vmb to do, and some (a lot of) final detailing. Then im calling it a day on this particular piece so I can get the legs to this stage.

You might've wrecked your eyes trying to keep the stripes straight but I bet when you finish it all and look at it you'll think it was worth it. Though maybe you need to get some new augmetic eyes from the Warsmith/Dark Mechanicus, they could match up with Honsou's.

Lol. I may just do that. I'm sure it'll all be worth it when I'm done. Although I'll have to go eve bigger for my next project.

I found my warhound went together fairly easily. I will say though that thanks to the amount of detail on these models, they take really, REALLY well to basecoat + wash. I decided not to highlight mine (because I'm lazy), but I think someday I might.

My interior still needs work. I did a rush job to get the exterior ready for a tournament. I still need to paint that fleshy tentacle and that central door/divider that goes in the middle.

Wait till the pistons, my friend. Oh the pistons...the PISTONS!!! GYAAAHAAHAHAHAHA

After a full day of washing and drybrushing, its time to start adding colour to the legs and feet, and I'm nearly done on the vmb. Just a little minor detail to finish there. I've also done the inside of the carapace grille and the detail on the interior of the carapace. That just leaves the head, leg armour, groin armour, plasma blast gun and pistons to do. :(.

Looking absolutely brilliant so far. I know you are a way off finishing it but have you thought of any names for it?

Awesome work! The strips look beautiful and well done for hand painted. Inspiring!

That interior, I feel like I could catch a disease just looking at it. Very well done!

Masking tape works wonders. Low tac tape for painting cars can help with making stuff like this.

Im not sure if the pic shows it properly but theres only one stripe that doesnt line up, and yes I will be fixing the issue.

Yeah, im well aware of low tac masking tape. I just don't use it. Ive found that masked stripes don't look quitd right on curved surfaces.

Yeah I have experienced this problem too, especially on shoulderpads and very curved surfaces, it always looks wonky even when it is perfectly straight, must be a visual illusion or something.

Thanks guys, for the positive feedback and encouragement. I know im a pretty average painter and ypur kind words make a huge difference to me.

Anyway, time for todays update. Another 6 hour stint has yielded some progress, I have started adding colour to the legs, basecoated and washed the head, made progress on the Interior of the head and got a fair way into the plasma blast gun.

Anyway. Time for some pics.

Second update of the day and im starting to get excited. After nine days work, a grand total of 81 hours. Its finally starting to look the part. Admittedly theres a long way to go, but I'm happy with the progress made. The blu tac holding the arms and head will soon be replaced with pins glue and screws, and the remaining pistons and armour added.

You gotta love people who check this thread out and see the amount of quality work you've done in a ridiculously short amount of time and their only input is, "Are you gonna fix that one hazard stripe?" or "Hey, you know there is such thing as masking tape, right?"

You're doing an amazing job, doubly so considering you've done all this in nine days!

Keep it up, I can't wait to see the end result!

You know I wasn't saying his stuff was bad by any means. I was simply a suggestion to a different type of masking tape but, thanks for coming off like a jerk as always. It's called constructive criticism.

That's why I tried to tell you about the car tape it helps a lot with curves and such. IT is by no mean bad. I was simply replying about your complaint about them being hard to paint. Yeah there is an illusion.

Wow. Today kind of sucked. Lol. I've spent most of it painting those cursed pistons. A quick word of warning to anyone thinking ofbuilding one of these things. DO NOT GLUE THE PISTONS IN PLACE BEFORE PAINTING.
Anyway as a little light relief from the pistons, I got most of the remaining work done on the weapons and started some of the remaining armour pieces.

Couple of suggestions from when I built mine:

1. Drill out the central barrels of the vulcan megabolter (maybe you have done this already)
2. Fit something over the eyes, I used grill from B&Q but I have seen people recommend disposable 3d glasses lenses
3. Add a burnt barrel effect to the megabolter (I followed this tutorial http://fromthewarp.blogspot.co.uk/2011/09/how-to-paint-heat-stained-gun-barrels.html )

Mine looked like:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/core/gallery-viewimage.jsp?i=624412&m=2&w=800 (barrel)
http://www.dakkadakka.com/core/gallery-viewimage.jsp?i=634699&m=2&w=800 (see bottom of pic for the eyes)
