I just think it's funny she thinks these say anything we don't already know, or is revealing some kind of fabrication conspiracy (and /v/ is laughing at how they knew she was there the whole time. They literally trolled her in public, talked about it in public, and she apparently hasn't noticed).
Yeah. I've seen that happen before.
Its what I used to do, I would talk about really complicated things and make large allegations and the people would think I planning something. Or I am just reiterating what is going on. I mean just from what they have written I sort of laugh at. Considering the time stamps. I mean.... Its a conspiracy can't you see?
Its the man man!
Anyway....
I do find it funny. Its the internet mate. ITs bloody 4chan. They make fun of things!

I'm more confused how a bunch of hack talk is suppose to blow anything open. We already knew there were attacks being launched. If anything, this probably lends more credibility to the claim she faked her own hacking, cause if 4Chan (or any other chan rally) really did it, surely someone would have brought it up in the IRC channel (the one where they're talking about getting passwords maybe), and she would have a shot of it. If this is the best she can produce, it's a rather marvelous failure at spin. Fox news must be shaking its head right now.
I'm not really sure what this is supposed to do except maybe throw herself back into the spotlight now that the debate has finally started shifting away from her.
This is really the only one I find questionable. Why would they post that image on a public board instead of simply telling everyone to leave the IRC in the IRC? This post seems purpose built to get attention, which lends me to suspect it was someone else who posted it after Quinn started posting the images on her twitter.

It could have been any number of people but they were probably trolling someone. 4chan, Quinn, the whole situation idk. That one just stands out as a bit of an oddity. The others just don't support her ravings.

Oh I'm sure most of those are real. I just don't see the conspiracy. It looks like she sat in some chat rooms for awhile and just took some screen shots. There's nothing there supporting any sort of fabrication. What it supports is that there's a hacking campaign going on, which anyone paying attention to this should already know. Many of those conversations actually seem to support the opposite of what she says they do.

Who has stayed pretty far from the issue.. I mean the whole extra credits team has literally stepped back away from it and occassionaly saying. "Yeah corruption is pretty rampant." And then they condemn threats of all types.
I think people who identify under the ideals of gamersgate are following the wrong direction. I stand out away from it and just support the notion of corruption running rampant in the industry. Which is very possible.

I read this and my first thought is "more evidence that Twitter and Hashtags make the world a worse place."
I think people who identify under the ideals of gamersgate are following the wrong direction.
They're the mob. I'm not sure anyone objective ever expected anything to be achieved but a whole lot a noise (and maybe some new news sites). I sure as well wasn't expecting much. Not now anyway. Give it a year or two, maybe some serious consequences (for all sides involved) from this incident might start becoming apparent.

More like rabid dogs.
But its on both sides really.
Zoey quinn is quite rabid herself considering what she has been saying and doing.

I would say it's an issue of the campaign being the only game in town. Let's face it, even for people who care about video game journalism corruption, it's such a remarkably low priority that any kind of organized campaign coalescing around it is kind of a laughable idea. It's something that annoys me, but I don't think about it more than maybe twice a year when I get tricked into taking Kotaku click bait or something.
I bet a lot of people see GamerGate as their only shot at achieving critical mass and getting something done, because without it, nothing would ever have materialized. The stakes are so small in this debate that a Twitter campaign started 'cleanly' would wind up with the same twenty people telling each other to fight the good fight or something, but this already has broad subculture recognition, so why not hop on the bandwagon?
That's what this really all comes down to: even the people who care don't really care, not the way they care about serious issues. Games journalists are basically writing free ad copy at the behest of publishers in exchange for perks and free stuff or else putting out social commentary pieces they have left over from graduate school, and while that's all wrong, nobody really cares because they're doing it for McDonald's assistant manager salaries and we all know not to trust them, anyway, and the games we like are still getting made and there are just way more important things to care about. It's like if the ladies who run bingo down at the VFW every Wednesday night were scamming an extra five dollars a week off the top or something. It's wrong and unethical, but who has the time to get up in arms over it? But if some big campaign against it were to start, people would say, yeah, sure, they should stop doing that.

That's a horrible article. "Dear gamers, a miniscule minority of your group is acting in a reprehensible way so you lose." Let's try that with some other groups and see how palatable it would be. "Dear feminists, some members of your group espouse the killing of men so feminism as a whole is reprehensible." "Dear Muslims, some members of your faith act on their belief that killing infidels is ok so clearly the term 'religion of peace' is a bald faced lie." "Dear Christians, the WBC is a horrible little group that gets a lot of press so time to throw out all of you."

One need only look at half the threads this forum has ever had on Muslims to see that he's completely right. That minority can ruin your image whether you want it to or not. 'Winning' a PR war has virtually nothing to do with being right. Just watch US politics.

So by that logic, gamersgate should drag out the insults and hatred for their side and show it off far more publicly?

She has absolutely no credibility whatsoever.
Plus there wasn't a single time mark on any of that. If any of you had to deal with drug addicts or compulsive liars in your life you know the lengths of what desperate people will go to. The SJWs and the journalists have mountains of evidence and logic against them, they will get more desperate to discredit anything against them.
That and she admitted to rape, and hacking TFYC site, so her words are wind.

Quite right.

I've only worked on one.
But its more of I am also in the process of making games. I am in the industry. But currently I have not spearheaded a project yet. I am still a student learning animation. But that doesn't stop me from making games. I have made quite a few, but only ever released one. As to what it is I can't disclose. As some of the items I used weren't licensed to me. And I dumped the whole project.
And my thoughts exactly on the whole situation with Quinn's 'evidence'

Now the journalists are calling gamers and supporters of gamergate pedophiles.
And Anita keeps posting threats contrary to normal police and federal procedure.
Why are they escalating this to the point where its about to explode?

A known hacker who has admitted to hacking who knows tons of hackers and has friends in a PR company that helped her hack posts stuff with no time codes. This is getting nuts.

Let us be honest though: religion of peace? Who are you kidding?

Actually, the Islam is a religion that teaches peace and tolerance for other religions. Its image is just skewed by extremists and medias jumping at it.
There are issues with it I personally can nowhere agree with, such as the internalized oppression of women just because, but the religion itself has a far worse reputation than it deserves.
Sigvatr wrote: Actually, the Islam is a religion that teaches peace and tolerance for other religions.
No. Except if you do limit “other religions” to Judaism and Christianity (and in Iran Zoroastrism, but really I suspect this is more because of Iranian nationalism than anything else), and even then, barely. If the official biography of the founder of your religion actually show him as a warlord who wages numerous and bloody wars, you do not qualify for “religion of peace”. You can pretend to the title of “religion of self-defense war” (and even then, a pretty dubious claim imo), but it certainly does not have the same ring to it, does it? I mean, religion of peace is a very, very weird expression anyway, but if some religions deserve it, it is those that preach the most extreme forms of non-violence, not those that were created by a warlord. But those religions find no need for that expression, because their principles of non-violence are applied rather than told. And those are a really tiny portion of religions.
Sigvatr wrote: Its image is just skewed by extremists and medias jumping at it.
The image is skewed, indeed, but the reality, from what I am able to tell, is quite far from what you think it is. We should take that to MP, because it is very off-topic.

Religion of peace is no weirder than a religion of love.
But Mohammad did say this towards christians
The Promise to St. Catherine:
"This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them.
Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by God! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries. No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims' houses.
Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God's covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.
No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray. Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants.
No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world)."

Bit disappointed to see an article in the Independent saying that Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkeesian are entirely do-gooders that are victims of the misogynistic hoards. Zoe Quinn's only crime is infidelity, and so what if it's with a reviewer? Hand wave everything else. Then bashing the Vivian James character for one thing and another.
Frankly it's a rather lazy piece that just labels gamers and 4chan as misogynists and doesn't really try to represent the real issues at all. Sure, there is an issue with women being subjected to abuse in some male-dominated hobbies but I don't think the upset here is because they are women. It's because of the dishonesty that's everywhere.
The bashing of the Vivian James seems cheap. Clearly there's an agenda, that 4chan is an evil thing, so anything they do that doesn't seem bad must be framed as such. Continually describing 4chan and gamers and all those angry on twitter as 'they' shows this. The media just can't understand that 4chan is a diverse place, they're all on ehomogenous blob that share the same values and behaviour.
