How is Kislev no more? Did (something who destroyed it) actually put every single Stanitsa to the torch? Which would be quite odd, as you can actually ride for days and not see a single izba. And Praag with Tzarina =/= Kislev. Land is Kislev. Kislev is Land.

The army, government, and people are almost entirely dead. There's a few survivors, and the land is taken by the forces of Chaos.

Meh. I could write down A4 argument why this is bs, but it's just GW, finally getting rid of stuff so there are no "pls, bring Kislev/Estalia back" sayings. How kislevites would say: "is of no matter".

I'm all for advancing the fluff. The new lord allotments however, are bs. 3 Bloodthirsters at 2400? I own those models. And a wall of nurgle heralds with regen. A big block of plaguebearers, and 2 solo beasts.

Advancing - yes. Advancing by getting rid of two (or three) factions completely - not really. Especially, when Kislev was just fine, during times when Archaon marched to overtake Empire.

The Army Books, especially the Chaos and Empire ones, not only don't mention Storm of Chaos, they specifically write the fluff to points leading directly up to the fluff from the Storm of Chaos book and then stop. GW has, for all intents and purposes, written out the Storm of Chaos(and the disaster of a campaign) ever having happened yet.

They'll never say outright that it's gone because that would be admitting to the mistake of it happening.

Compare to the 40K books which DO mention 40K's equivalent campaign as something that's happened but not finished. GW's purposely reset the clock for Fantasy and now have replaced it with the End Times. That's how retcons work, they're never explicit that something didn't happen, they're written so that something else happened.

Any mention of the lizardmen? I hope Kroak comes back in full form to out magic the ever loving hell out of Nagash.

There is a short piece saying that the Great Plan has failed adn they must implement "Exodus"

I wondered if that was evacuate the planet?

Surely Lizardmen would still exist? I really hope they dont just leave. What about they use portals to transport huge armies to each corner of the world and just lay waste to every living thing which has damaged the great plan? That would so friggin sweet. Imagine you see a portal open thinking demons are going to pop out of them and instead you see hundreds of pissed off dinos spill out of them decimating everything in their path.

One of the ealiest page in the Nagash fluff book has a full page with those who attend Mazdamundi discussing the rising crisis and dire visions by Tekto, speaker of Kexoatl's Council.

the last bit is this:

The priest fell silent as Mazamundi's corpulent bulk shifted on the dias. "The Great Plan has failed. " the slann intoned heavily. "The Exodus must begin."

It would be quite Slann like to just do the unexpected and depart............and/or push the reset button and wipe the planet clean of life as they go so they can start again.

Maybe the great exodus is like a huge marshaling of Lustria, where the entire jungle empties and marches out to kill EVERYONE and start over.

Surely if the Slann were just throw their hands up and say 'cant be assed' and just leave the planet, surely it would be better saying it there and then. Would be pretty saddening to read 'The Exodus has begun' and then wait a while, then read, 'oh yeah they just left.' Its gotta be something epic, its just gotta!

True - it reminds me of the end of Stargate TV series when the Asgard just gave up - I wanted them to go - right then lets go out in a blaze of glory and have a proper go at the Ori fleet -

"Your powerful, but we are the Asgard and we do this for a living"

proper Ragnarok stuff...............

I'd say its an absolute must to anyone that is a fan of the Warhammer lore. If you're not a fan of the ruleset, E-bay it, as I'm sure there are some WHFB players not at all interested in the lore part.

I don't get why a fan of the lore would enjoy a book which is throwing most of that lore out the window and a series that seems set to finish the job completely and turn the universe into something completely unrecognisable. And not because the setting was the problem and needed fixing(demands for more story could easily have been handled with Heresy-style historical campaign books), but because GW's pricing and rules development has been driving away players and the company wants to make it profitable again without actually having to change their behaviour, as well as increase their ability to sue people by removing as much of the stuff that resembles actual history as possible.

Aside from the tome of legends for nagash are there any other pre-works that lead up to the end times that have nagash in it?

Aside from Tome of Legends I think the only novel dealing with the End Times is the Gotrek and Felix novel Kinslayer.
