A pair of Lieutenants. One with a bit more experience under his belt then the other...

RT: How many drops for you is this, lieutenant?
Prime: Thirty-eight. Simulated.
RT: How many combat drops?
Prime: Uh, two. Including this one.

Going by the Space Marine Painting Guide, that older guy is wearing a Captain's insignia on his shoulder. (I don't think Lieutenants ever had particular shoulder insignia, just the helmet and forearm flash.)

You are 100% correct. The mini and his helmet insignia are for a RT-era LT. But when painting him, I wanted to push my free hand skills, so put the Captains’s heraldry on his shoulder. Call it a brevet battlefield promotion, swapping shoulder pad’s with his former, now deceased, superior.

Found these miscreants in a box. I think I'll strip em and redo them for my Wolves/Orks

I forgot about this thread! Great models, such nostalgia!

I picked these up second hand a few weeks ago, still on sprue!

I've got a box of those. They were fun things when they first came out.

Kinda good timing with the new Death Guard plastics about to come out.

I kind of like monopose models like these with bland poses. Much better than 'action' monoposes; there are only so many ways you can just stand there, right!?

What I did with mine was remove and reposition their left hands at the wrist. This allowed me to mix up the silhouette of the models a little bit. I believe another popular conversion is to reverse the plague knife so it is being held upside down.

I was thinking of doing something to convert them, like even tack on a blight launcher from the new models but I'd feel bad hacking up these old models!

If we're flashing back, how about the rules for the 1991 40k gaming league:

Yes, you're reading that right. The only army allowed is Space Marines (and a restricted set of units, at that), with some Imperial guard and Squat allies if you like.

Ha, that is something else all right. I rather like the "game length? whatever, just play til you're done, ok?"

Heres a shot from an old game, 2011 iirc.
Gork and Mork teaming up to play a linebreaker game VS Eldar. Was a slaughter to the big guys iirc.....

Of course! That was my next guess.

The 2nd Ed Biovore is the one Old Skool Tyranid model from 2nd Ed that I don't own. I always figured that they'd release newer ones that would be far superior, especially with the ancient concept art pieces that were floating around out there. Boy was I wrong...

I do (mostly; missing some of the console bits and the like, but it's playable). I've even got modern replacements for all the miniatures (I think I might need another genestealer).

Wow, love the old Space Crusade models! I was only reading something recently about that pseudo necron cyborg thingys.

I posted my old Plague Marines a while back but got around to painting one as a test for my new Death Guard army:
