People saying raging heroes kickstarted doesn't belong in general discussion thread. Mods say nowhere else to put it. There are model and figure threads in misc mini game forum already. Why not change forum name and put misc games and raging heroes and stuff like that in same forum as people expect?

makes sense to me although I'd widen it to games/minis and terrain as I don't see stuff like the secret weapon tiles really fitting in discussion

(at least with the thread content general dsicussion seems to get at the moment)

Misc. Miniature Games is a sub-forum about games.

Talk about war gaming products not attached to a specific game belongs in Dakka Discussions.

That is not the way people think so I made a suggestion. Since changing name is not popular why not a new forum called Misc Wargame Products? That would do for figures and terrain stuff.

Because that would mean creating another sub-forum which would dilute the content of not only the already existing Misc. sub-forum, but Dakka Discussions as well.

On a board as large as Dakka there are already numerous sub-forums. Creating more just makes the website as a whole more unwieldy and more confusing.

Snrub's post does reflect discussion of this issue among the staff: we want to avoid creating a lot of sub-fora considering there are already so many of them.

Why do you need to create a new sub forum? The suggestion was just to move misc minis and terrain back into the extant misc games sub forum, right?

The answer lies in the posts above:

- OP suggests moving X threads into Y sub-forum

- I answer that X threads belong in X sub-forum rather than Y sub-forum

- OP suggests a new sub-forum be created for X threads

But if everyone was using Y forum to discuss X already, and X forum is used to discuss how much we hate GW and the people who love them (and the mods), then why not just rename the Y forum to be more inclusive? This dilemma you presented is a fairly recent phenomenon and appears to stem entirely from a hard line approach to what exactly constitutes "games".

Raging Heroes was already in Misc Etc before it was moved. There are still minis-only threads, like Trollforged, et al., in the Misc 'n' Stuff forum. Dakka Disc was almost always about the hobby or hobby experiences rather than specific product lines' news and rumors and reviews. Now the lines are blurred and chaos reigns. The Misc and the Disc must not intermingle.

Dakka Disc's lack of purpose has caused it to usurp N and B. After all, we can discuss how much we hate mods! headers and being logged out...
