That sounds really fun for a lot of my sneaky Bakunin and Shasvastii units

Does anyone know when the army builder will be updated? Has there been any announcement? Or is it just when it happens?

That doesn't mean they won't drop them sooner. But those have been the stated timetables.

Just flipped to the hacking rules.

@_@

They really understated how many new tools hackers would get.

IDK who used to say Nomads were the best hackers in Infinity, but EI is clearly superior in that field now. Being that they're sinister aliens from beyond the stars, they probably have a better IT department than anything the human sphere has to offer.

In the end it would seem hacking will be another high risk high reward tool in your arsenal. Order intensive, but very powerful if used properly.

Is that a natural 21?

I'm kind of glad at that for the EI - they should have that level of advantage with their Voodoo tech (and Baron Samedi etc. )

Carlos - completely see your point of everything not being ready to go, day 1. But, there was always going to be some crossover with this, it was never going to be seamless with the size of the game and the size of CBs resources. I think if you lower your expectations to a reasonable level, think at least CB are trying to narrow that crossover period with rule downloads etc. In a couple of months we'll be left with a better, sharper ruleset. That's worth a bit of a few months of me having to be careful with the army builder in my mind.

My complaint had nothing to do with things being ready or not ready on day one, hell it will take me a few weeks at least to start to understand the rules and longer yet to actually arrange a game. Only that I would have preferred the main rule book of a new addition to have had all the information one needs to play. Its not a huge deal, I look forward to playing the game and I am sure it will be worth the wait and what ever effort it may take going through the FAQ's and working out will be worth it for the better more clear ruleset. I just figure it all being in one book would be clearer. As I said I am disappointed as its not ideal but its not a huge deal.

Don't really want to post any more on the matter because some people seem to have got heated about it and taken it as a far bigger complaint than I actually had. I have no wish to derail the thread any further.

Best hackers in the Human Sphere, there is a difference.

That Squalos looks pretty great. A small part of me still regrets telling the GF she can have the Pan Oceana half of Ice Storm. I was never intrested in Pan O before and already had some Nomad stuff before Ice storm but the new Pan O sculpts look great.

I like the Squalo - a lot!

But then, me and T.A.G.s, you know...

Also, if we could keep the 'Ragefist Rage' to a minimum, I'd consider that a really great early Christmas present!

If it's just the models that are tempting you, nothing should stop you from collecting them for your glass cabinet.

Only thing I don't like is the open hatch on top, hopefully it can be modelled closed.

Not that I don't like the aesthetic, but I can jsut see it going flying midgame, never to be seen again!

As a Neoterran unti however, shouldn't it have more red bits on the armour? I know mine will!

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

so I ask again... will Human Sphere/Paradiso/Dire Foes be reprinted w updated rules or will they be released exclusively as pdf updates?

All we know at this point is that there will be PDFs with minor updates to the units and some kind of errata document for the bits of HS&P that don't work with N3.

We have been given no indication that the books will ever be reprinted to bring them inline with N3, all we do know is we are getting updated profiles and pdfs for their respective rules/units.

I am not saying it may never happen, but don't hold your breath.

I would also like to be added to that extinct reptile category!

Although, for books that I already own, perfectly happy to print off some updates and stick them in if there aren't any significant updates in the background/artwork etc.

Ragefist! There, I said it. I won't say it again.

Granted it is strictly a shooting TAG, but couldn't they do something to make a more interesting pose? It looks like its sprawled out just to make sure it fills the silhouette volume nice and evenly.

Look at the cutter. The pose is half the reason there is no reason to replace that old TAG sculpt.

Still it's a vast improvement on the fluffy older squalo

One more for me, and I'm not trying to be argumentative:

This is no different than a GW new edition.

The core rules are together. You can play the game.

Its just that the expansions tend to come with new rules. Ones that break the core rules and make for more variety, and thus draw more interest. Human Sphere and Paradiso are simply add-ons that bring new rules and new units very similar to a new Codex. The biggest difference is that CB doesn't artificially inflate the value of its rulebooks by making them limited (and sell out in hours) or by forcing you to bring them to tourneys and events. In fact, CB offer the rules for free, as is evidenced by the recent discussion in this thread.

Warmahordes is the same. Malifaux is the same. Any game that introduces a new edition has to do the same.

(Sorry if I am a CB apologist here. I do believe CB can make mistakes--like leaving profiles without models for years-or-dropping the Exrah-or-changing the meta completely by reducing model cost-or-group packing so many profiles-or-making some models limited to box sets--but I don't think this new edition book and the free download this early are mistakes. They feel good.)

It is kinds of pointless for me at this point. I already own the book so I have the fluff so the only reason I would need the "reprints" is for the rules, which of course will be on pdf as well.

Squalo looks good. I'll have to consider getting one. Then again, I've got the old one still. I'm probably one of the few people that actually likes the old one though. As for the rage fist, with the way the gun is designed, I don't think there' s a whole lot they could've done with the other arm. It doesn't seem like it'd be capable of holding the rifle with both hands since it's fixed the the arm like that.

Huh, nice Squalo. He needs a space-future oil drum crushed up in that left hand, for lewls. That may be just the model to round out my icestorm force.. pending if/how things get repointed.

Sorry man If I sounded like hate-talk, not my intention

As for hacking I have a question for you guys with book, since N3 brings "levels" to hacking devices and we see types for protocols as "sword-1/claw-1/shield-1" can you post what kind(level) of devices Nomsds have? ofc those availble in main rulebook.

Rage fist is bad...just soo bad.
