You wouldn't need to fold the mat. Just roll it up and place it in its own section of the box.

While I love the rubber/fabric mouse mat style play mats, the paper stuff allows them to keep the price point down, and to use a smaller box--for what that's worth.

And hooray that I caved last time that neoterra was on sale at MM and so now I don't have to!

Except .. ya know ... they aren't keeping the price point down. They've topped even Icestorm, which was 14 models for 75 quid or so RRP, to now 9 models for 75 quid RRP or so. Essentially a box of 10 mono-pose metal Cadians for the price of a Space Hulk boxed set or 1.5 Deadzone boxed games.

That's not really a fair comparison and you (hopefully) know it. The USAd set has three large models that make up for the difference in numbers.

To compare these guys to old metal Cadians is just ridiculous.

Luckily, nobody is forcing you to buy it.

Wayland has it at 74 before discount. Could be a Wayland-trick though (is that legal?). Haven't seen it for 65 RRP, but even so. 10 metal minis? Really? Anything above 20 RRP, maybe 25, is a joke.

It's €90 on CBs site, which is ~£65. RRP on Wargaming Trader is £70. I don't know why theyre different.

And cmon, £25 is asking for something ridiculous for this.

Why? Execution force for 75 quid had almost 3 times as many models, hard-plastic to boot, and really thick cardboard to play on, rather than paper. and is widely accepted to be horribly overpriced (rightly so IMO).

1/3rd the miniatures without the costs of molds for hard plastic and paper instead of card-board would be as bad as Execution Force. probably worse, at 1/3rd the price of Execution Force (25 quid). But it actually costs almost the same as Execution Force? And the fanboys are still defending this? C'mon.

Calling anyone who defends this a fanboy?

I get the feeling you just want to start something.

To answer your argument though, this box set includes terrain, rules/mini campaign, playmat, and the miniatures. The biker, wolf, and antipodes are all good chunks of metal. Disregarding all the extras in the box, ~$10/mini is a little high for the smaller figures, but a great deal on the larger ones. I'd say it's fairly priced for what you get- highly detailed metal miniatures. It's not like we're talking about PVC minis.

Kabal of the Grieving Widow (less)

Plus other games- miniature and cardboard both.

I hate having to remind some of this, but.........

This is not the place to be bickering/complaining/whining/concerned about the price of CBs products. Also this is MOST DEFINITELY not (or anywhere on Dakka for that matter) the place to start insulting/name calling.

One can take the pricing concerns down to the proper Infinity Forums, the name calling would be best stopped.

I still haven't finished painting my O:I stuff (6 down though, and the others are base coated!).

Then CB drop this box of awesome. Lovely stuff, I'll get a box as a treat for finishing my other things

You keep mentioning other, better (iyo) lines/minis when discussing Infinity, but they're also monopose*!

You don't like them, that's fine, but must you clog up CB based threads/discussions with the same thing, over and over?

So, the next thing for USAriadna after the USAriadna Army Box is the Grunts box. Bostria was suggesting that they'll show it at GenCon.
The video has a showcase of the new Airborne Ranger design at 3:46.
Desperado at 9:47.

Quite like the Desperados, was expecting a much more Sons of Anarchy look though.

The Desperadoes look awesome, specially the 2nd one.
But the Airborne ranger steals the show for me. That design has the potential for a great miniature.

Glad to see a good balance of Stereotypical US stuff with a Professional Military look, keeps both camps happy.

I wont lie I think the Clint Eastwood Desperado is pretty cool

Surely someone comparing the USArianda miniatures to the GW Cadian miniatures should carry some kind of mandatory ban?

That's the most obvious piece of trolling I have seen in some time

CB has repeatedly said they will not convert their range to plastic or resin. It keeps the price up, but metal is by far the best medium to work with for miniature games.
It's a matter of quality over quantity. Infinity miniatures are hands down superior to nearly all the competition. Certainly better than anything GW is pushing, and better detail than you can get with plastics. What do I like about metal minis? You can buy them second hand or take your very first paint job and strip the paint off and redo them without any loss of detail. Plastics, not so much.
Remember as well you don't need a thousand guys to play. Anything that you get in a GW box would be a tiny fraction of what you'd need for a complete army list. A dozen or so models is a complete 300 pts list for most infinity factions.

Is that a natural 21?

Outrageous isn't it? Cadians, and really all IG infantry, are some of the worst miniatures in recent memory. I doesn't matter that they're modular for posing when you need to field dozens and dozens of them. Eventually all semblance of variety is lost.
The only reason to convert CB miniatures is to get the load-out you want. But really who has ever complained if you proxy a chain rifle for a boarding shotgun? They're much better now about releasing one sculpt for each possible unit profile. Otherwise if you don't like the pose, don't buy the model.

New sectorial army. Matter of semantics, but they're effectively a new army.

Don't do that... do not even get into the exhausting "CB is better GW is better" discussion...

I must admit that GW plastic has super fine quality. But many other plastic/resin products that I've seen (Zombiecide, Warmachine, Mantic...) had been very dissapointing.

I do not want even to consider of CB switching to plastics, loosing their 10/10 quality. They have the best Metal product in the industry. Let the others ruin their stuff by tring to go plastic achieving 6/10 results. If someone is not going to get into Infinity because metal, that's fine.

I'm sure that if CB tries to go plastic they will have to go through a process that can damage the quality of their products. Rackham style.

Infinity is not made for becoming mainstream. This is "gourmet" stuff, really, not Pepsi.

They were comparing the RELEASES that they're planning to Tohaa.

Effectively, as Bladerunner mentioned, USAriadna doesn't exist in model terms. So they're talking about having a lengthy period where any Ariadna release is guaranteed to be a USAriadna release to get the feet under the Sectorial.

That Desperado bike has a confederate-flag-looking pattern on it. This truly and utterly offends me and everyone in my hugbox. I demand that all Desperadoes be banned in all tournaments alongside USAriadna, Corvus Belli products, and Spain itself. Anyone that doesn't give in is a racist.

Have you seen the Kingdom Death plastics? They could definitely capture the proportions and style of Infinity in plastic.

Heck, they even have cheesecake poses and cleavage. I'm not a fan of the 70's porn meets 80's horror movie designs of the minis but the quality and detail are unmistakeably there.
