Slowest commision EVER?!?

hahahahahaha
no

i started painting it in 2013 with the intention of selling it on eBay, but commissions have killed my personal painting time...
i've only finished one personal mini in the last two years:(...
now that it has been replaced, i don't know if it will be worth anything, but i like the original Squalo sculpt better than it's replacement...
same is going to happen with my Guijia and Maghariba Guard...
the only difference is, i know that the new Maghariba is going to be way more awesome than the original!!!
we'll see about the Guijia...

this Seraph may actually give the Cutter a run for the money as my favorite TAG...

cheers
jah

Bah. Got me again, and I don't even have any other Morats... I guess that's not going to hold up for long anymore. But the Tempest guy is really cool what with the giant curvy axe thing and big gun and fancy pose... Fie! Totally nabbed a BPRD/hellboy horrorclix thing to x-mas present someone too...but combined shipping and all that.

You know, I don't really know how I feel still about the Azra'il change into these super bulky extra-heavy armors. They are certainly awesome models and I love their 'open eye mask' helmets, but I half feel like I could play another game with them.

You know. Send a link team of 5 Azra'ils into a disabled Qapu Khalqi starship, where they need to fight CA Pretas in close quarters...

There's a funny story behind the whole "change". It's not really a change, it's them finally getting the models right.

They were never meant to be those pathetic, tiny things we had before. The whole background on them is that they purposely get given antiquated gear as a mark of their falling from favor and the gear is usually larger/bulkier resulting in a bit of a 'fear factor'.

If I played Haqq, I would definitely want some of those.

Wait...

You're kidding me, I can take those under QK?

Sweet, I'll have to get some just as soon as I get any of my QK painted....

So how's that work for the holoprojector L1? Can a Hafza imitate an Azra'il even with the new size stat and obvious difference? Haven't gone over the rules pertaining to units that are still in their boxen yet.

The open eye masks look a lot like the first run Hsien and Fusiliers I believe.
I'm glad CB pulled it off really well here, they always looked pretty silly on those old models

Only one of the original run Fusiliers, the one exclusive to the vanilla starter. And did that look silly? I still rather like that model.

This was such a crashing disappointment in N2. I read their fluff in HS and thought they sounded absolutely badass. Ex Sultinate guard given old pattern, bulky power armour to make them huge and imposing to strike fear into their enemies and equipped with the biggest guns Haqqislam had at their disposal. Standing back resolutely pouring heavy firepower into enemy positions behind their bulwark of massive heavy armour.

Then I jumped into the online catalogue and saw some scrawny medium infantry looking guys in form fitting lighter looking armour. Once of them didn't even have heavy firepower! Don't get me wrong, the AP Rifle/Light Flamethrower and Panzerfaust profile was a fantastic toolkit, but it wasn't 'heavy firepower'.

I believe Bostria also said that the sculptor simply got it wrong on the first models. I guess they didn't have time to release another model at that time, so they just went with it with the intention to redo them some day.

No, they cannot do that.
Holoprojector L1 Cannot "impersonate" an allied troop that has a different Silhouette value.
So, Hafzas can be deployed as fake Janissairs, for example, but not fake Azrails.

New Highlander Grey sculpts. Seriously, I have a whole list

Mine is:
Bagh-Mari--?
Nisse-- ? just need the basic guy(s) and the hacker now. I suspect we'll see a few more profiles added to them ( Boarding shotgun probably.)
Govad-- coming next year, early we are told
Maghariba Guard --coming whenever CB figures out how to mass produce it.
Tikbalang-- ? reportedly in the same box as the Uhlan, coming whenever.
Tuareg-- ?

The new Azra'il, worth getting because of the HMG. Big slow model is not so good with a short range weapon like the Feuerbach. Also, like the Mormaer style shield. Azra'il are supposed to get some rule changes too. I think I'll wait and see those before getting the mini.

2 more previews, including the Guijia, to go?

This new azrail looks even better than the last (bulky). That looks like a power armor a starship trooper from the novels would wear. Is the bigger badder gun supposed to signify something different? Also what is the fluff/purpose of the arm shield it has but the previous version doesn't?

I so hope they get the box treatment. Rifle/Doctor, Boarding Shotgun, Hacker, Sniper. I'd buy the gak out of that.

Bigger-Badder-er gun is upgraded from HMG to AP-HMG apparently. More oomph.

Entirely different gun.

The first model had a Fauerbach, which has a lower rate of fire, shorter range, but fires armour piercing explosive rounds. This model has an AP HMG. Higher rate of fire, longer range, armour piercing rounds, but not explosive.

The shield is, I assume, simply because they had nothing to do with the other hand. There's been a lot of complaints about 'rage fists' lately (models doing a fist pump for no reason other than the hand was unused), so they whacked a shield on there.

Seems like a reasonable thing to slap onto the arm of a lower tech heavily armored battle suit too. I mean the suit has the weight covered and extra armor can't hurt when you're taking heavy fire.

Rageshield. lol the latest in a long line of things for CB fans to whine about!

gotta have it...gotta sell some GW crap and make hobby budget!

I want to get both and see if I can make the HMG be held in both hands like the FB with the shield on the arm. Dammit... my wallet hates it when I get conversion ideas...

Haven't heard any complaining about the rage shield, mostly because it's not worth complaining about unless you just don't like the aesthetic. Ragefist is a model doing a fist pump because its hand is free and they couldn't find anything to do with it and casting an open hand is difficult (hence why new models with open hands are actually doing the Vulcan salute).

This model is specifically doing something with its hand - holding a shield.

You know what, with the equipment setup on this guy, he really reminds me of the Fencer from Earth Defense Force.

Yeah, I'm really going to need to get this one. I think my biggest complaint about it would be that he'll be a pain to try and repose, so I can only really have one.

IMHO the shield comes to that hand because a balance issue. When the artists is placing such a weapon in one hand the whole figure losses its balance.

Makes sense in an artistic way.
