Developing such a model from concept to having it in stores takes a lot longer than the 10 months or so since the Tyranid Codex. That one's been in the pipeline before the latest Tyranid Codex was released.

More rumors. Its from Natfka, so take with a grain of salt. Apparently the rumor came with a product code, which has been blocked out.

For those workblocked

The next book is going to be called the Shield of Baal: Exterminatus according to a reader here on Faeit 212. Not only that, but it appears there is a codex Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard edition (most likely a limited edition codex or special edition codex). There is also mention of Blood Angel datacards.

I only have what was posted in the comment section here, and it seems like it could be legit. Hard to say at the moment, so please remember that this is a rumor.

Ok, this is either going to go down like a lead balloon or I may have just found the holy grail of rumour farming!!!!

So here goes, the next book being released for the campaign is....
Shield of Baal:Exterminatus.

Not only that but the Blood angels codex is coming with this funky little tidbit:
Codex Blood Angels Sanguinary Guard Edition
As well as:
Product Code Blood Angels Data Cards(English)

I know people will throw salt all over this, but I believe it is genuine and I have proof but I just don't want to give it away just yet in case Games Workshop patch that particular hole because it could be a potential gold mine for info.

Also here is the latest from Nightfury if you dont happen to read down to the comment sections.

"The Sanguinary Guard edition will be similar to the wolfguard limited edition SW codex with counters and an artfolio.. should go up for preorders the last week in november if the timetable is correct along with the much anticipated LE boxed set that will almost certainly include the new tyranid broodlord i told you about a few weeks ago"

Finally, some hope!

There definitely is a Brood Lord coming, it's on the front of the new Nids painting book. Maybe it will be exclusive to the boxed set...

Out of interest, what was the gap between the two Stormclaw books..?

Apparently I have to ask on Tryanid and Blood Angel threads about SoB presence in this new Shield pack - not allowed a general thread on the rules pack, so what info do we actually have on non marine Imperial forces having any actual content in the pack.................

so if you have any issues about asking here -

ou are about 4 weeks late buddy. Check the tyranid and blood angel rumor threads. In the meantime, someone lock this thread please?

Best case scenario is 1 or 2 formations and a special character.

In all likelihood, they get nothing.

Yeah, so far it seems like nothing beyond a fluff inclusion. The product description makes it sound as if everything in the book is all Tyranids, all the time.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Oh goodie, more limited release nonsense, either GW are completely happy leaving a lot of people's money on the table, or they are having to seriously cut back on production and warehousing costs in order to massage the financials before the next report.

If it is the latter, it's a shame, I think a lot of folk hoped that once they got to the point that they had to cut directly into their own short-to-medium-term revenue generating capacity in order to keep their current business strategy viable, rather than sacrificing only long-term viability and market share, they'd reevaluate and change direction.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

I've had the same thought, and initially thought it was ridiculous, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense. The Limited Edition stuff (as opposed to simply all the limited supply) represents a much better return on capital investment if one's funds are limited, then use whatever is left over in the budget to order standard stuff for the plebs.

If it sells well enough to warrant a restock, then there's always next month.

It also appears to be books, which I believe GW outsource, that keep shorting, whereas minis (in general) seem to be much more freely available.

Dammit, I'm beginning to convince myself. I'll have a wall covered in pictures connected by pins with string tied to them by Christmas!

Somebody on the B&C pointed out that in the YouTube trailer for SoB, the SoB are the only army not represented by actual models, but instead by a piece of art from the codex.

Now, one reasonable explanation is that there just aren't a lot of Sisters of Battle glamor shots in the GW library (remember, all current images are shot on Realm of Battle Boards with GW craters and GW buildings and GW fortifications and GW terrain bits, which may limit what archive shots they are allowed to use in their style guide). But it's an interesting question.

I'd guess that the Sisters are getting an in-text mention as defenders of this planet or that before they get eaten. Though to be fair, it sounds like that's what's going to happen to all of the Imperial forces in this update since it seems to be nearly all Tyranids and coincides with a Tyranid model release.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Hope is the first step to disappointment. SoB players should just close their eyes and forget SoB even exist! Then life will be so much better when you don't have to even think about your army being totally forgotten.

It's doubtful they'll get anything other than an honorable mention. Now back to BA talk!

Sorta weird calling it the Sanguinary Guard edition considering there are only like 29 Sanguinary Guard... not exactly an army. However, GW hasn't been very good at "naming things" in awhile.

Well, everything listed on natfka lines up perfectly with LoWG. The boxed set being in this upcoming saturdays white dwarf, followed by the BA codex the week after (29th of november) along with preorders for that and part 3 of Shield of Baal would put the release on december 6th, meaning that A) lords of wars prediction of a december codex release was right and B) games workshop wont be spoiling anything new during the month of december. Not sure how i didnt make this connection before...

Not to further piss off Blood Angels players or anything, but I wish GW would come completely out of left field and put out a huge Sisters of Battle release for December; new codex, entire new miniature range rolled out over the course of the month and finishing up just before Christmas, etc. BA could come in the last part of the campaign for a January or February release or something, I dunno, all they need is a codex anyway because the miniature range is fine. I know it won't happen, but still...

Eh, it's happened to several model lines. Squats, Genestealer Cult. Chaos Cult for a while. Arbites to a lesser extent (weren't really an "army" per se).

At least unlike the Squats and Stealers, GW did the right thing and kept releasing new rules so Sisters players could keep playing with their models. I mean, the other option is to have the army be completely discarded and be sitting on a pile of worthless figures.

Squats, Genestealer Cults, and Adeptus Arbiters haven't had legit army rules since 2nd Edition, and all their model ranges predate that.

Adepta Sororitas just have the priveledge of having the worst supported of all the current model lines and a digtal only codex.

Calling the models available to Genestealer Cults and Arbites a 'range' is a bit of a stretch as well. We're talking about handfuls of minis here. There really is no precedent for the removal of an army from 40k on the scale of the Sisters. Nostalgia and raving internet lunacy has really exaggerated the significance of the Squat removal.

I am going to have to make sure I get one of those boxed sets. Hopefully the preorders pop up one of my days off. Otherwise it is up to the FLGS to get one. Luckily I have one FLGS that has several Stormclaw boxes in stock. I hope they have the same sort of situation for the BAvBugs box.

I wonder if they will address the bit of nid fluff that always bugged me (no pun intended) - how they can eat a planet in days.

It sort of makes fighting them especially pointless.

I would prefer that nids take years to eat a planet so there's at least some hope of dislodging them.

The trick with nids though is, it can take days to eat a planet with little resistance, but with resistance, they will struggle to get enough feeder ships in proximity with enough tendrils on the ground to do it that fast.

Also, Nids suffer like no other army from the whole 'cut off it's head' syndrome, take out the hive ship(s) and they tend to fall apart instantly. What I mean by that is, it may take them a few days to eat a planet, but a well equipped and tactically sound commander can stop them in a matter of hours.
