How have they screwed over the playerbase?

Honestly, people have such bizarre notions of what is owed to them. Stacks of cool models and multiple play styles with one strong compeittive build is fine.

Continued support is great.

Yeah I wouldn't call it "screwing over the playerbase". They're supporting the army between Codex releases, and that part is great. I would call it a damn crying shame that one of the units seems to be mediocre and the other one basically unusable.

Well, it's a war game, and the least you'd expect from a game is balance. If there's one build that's competitive that's hardly balanced.

However saying they've screwed the player base is a bit far...

I -think- there was a time that the rules for the stormtalon were in the digital C:SM codex, after the WD introduced them, but before the new book. But that’s my recollection of the chatter at the time, as I didn’t own the digital copy. It was also before the whole dataslate thing took off, so who knows what would happen these days; I’d not hold my breath.

Pretty good chance IMO since the Storm Talon got added to the Codex: Mat Ward for iPad a short while after 6th came out.

I wouldn't call this release support. It's more of a catastrophic fail to bring some sales to their Q4 revenue.

Umm wait a sec i might have gotten that mixed up with the Lichtor.. idk i don't play bugs so sorry if my names are off but its the thing with two big arm claws on a drednaught sized base

You'l get a ba named captain an assault/jump squad of the black armored guys a squad of termies and a squad of tacticals.. the tyranids will get the lichtor(big guy with claw arms on a 40mm base) and a pack of termigants cc? And hormagaunts gunbugs? I don't play nids so if i got the names wrong sorry.. heard it here first

Oh.. and the necrons will play a part in this campaign far as I've heard

I was specifically told campaigns would be used to tie codexs together ie ork & sw so expect this to be BA and necron related fighting tyranids together

If they were trying to bring sales to their Q4 revenue, they would release something for Space Marines and not Tyranids.

honestly, Nids sells very well i'm sure. The models look great and Tyranids have a die hard fanbase.

IF the imperial citizens take cover thing is 40k related, i am guessing we will see the beginning of the BA/Nids campaign. The first wave of the Tyranid invasion perhaps with the Nids making planetfall.

Really looking forward to the campaign!

Is this even their Q4? Isn't it their Q2? I thought their fiscal year ran June to June?

Sounds disappointing if true. I would have preferred some Warriors or a Carnifex.

Wouldn't make more sense to include Genestealers if the HQ model is a Broodlord ?

All of their models are released to bring sales. I don't see your point. If you're saying this is a desperate cash grab, you'll need some better arguments.

Brood Lord, Genestealers and a lictor would be great for me personally as I have more warriors and fexes than I'll ever use but can't see many buying it as they aren't great without an assault or open topped transport.

This has just clicked in my head, if any of you have read the story that goes alongside the Leviathan series of Dataslates, that involves Blood Angels and Tyranids. I wouldn't be surprised to see that be the basis for the campaign.

Eldercaveman- i agree with you, we could definitely see a continuation of the Leviathan rising story.

i am hoping they undo the BA/necron brofist.

A book based around Gorgon with Tau and Nids would have been nice.

They're either advancing or expanding the fluff around Leviathan attacking Baal. Basically putting a microscope on a specific conflict to release themed models.

As the fluff stands atm a large tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan is on a direct course for Baal and the Blood Angels have recalled all of their sucessor chapters to defend the homeworld.

Plenty of room for a campaign book there.

Ah yeah, when all the successor chapters are recalled/show up to fight.

I'm sure there's mention of a Chaos fleet en route to Baal at that time as well, no?

Can't find anything about it online.

Well the Tyranid dataslates also features Blood Angels landing to assist with the evacuations of the world so it might be a continuation of this story arc as well.
