I hope to see this in the theatre in 3B (3 Beers)...but probably 7B or 8B depending on the length. (They sell pints at the movie theatre concessions here.)

Movie reviewers in your town must have fun with epic length films.

I remember yelling 'Gandalf!!!' at the end of Two Towers at the top of my lungs and then being escorted to the street in front of Tokyu Cinemas in Shibuya in 2002. Then we went to the pub for serious nerd deliberations and wings.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Sounds like what you want is a video session where everyone picks a name, when that name is spoken you take a drink.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

I like the more dark and mature (lol) direction the Hobbit films took compared to the book.

Why?

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

That does look pretty great. Either way, it can't be worse than Desolation of Smaug.

Watch the newly-released Extended edition of Desolation, it fixes so much. I must admit, I wasn't a great fan of the theatrical version of it but the extended cut puts it firmly alongside the others.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. I liked the theatrical version, but the first 40 minutes or so were terribly rushed. The extended edition fixes that sooooo much. Personally I think that that version is just below The Two Towers in terms of quality now (which, imho, was the weakest of the LOTR movies... still great though).

Wait, it needs to be 4 hours long? I would have preferred shorter actually (and get rid of most of the crap in laketown - that was stupid squared).

Yes, the Laketown part was very badly done.

Though I gotta admit I loved the first scene, when Gandalf and Thorin met in Bree. In a vacuum it's one of my favourite scenes from all the LotR films.

Well they could have walked all the ork stuff in elf town and kept the story. Same for Laketown.

But then how would we know how awesome CGI fight scenes and acrobatics are?!
