Gotta cover making illegal immigrants "residents" for tuition purposes somehow.

While true, there are times where the increase is unnatural, or really high for what is "normal"
The school that I'm currently going to is going to have a 25% increase next year, due to state law that is funneling more money into K-12, so the shortfall of money going to post secondary is coming from the students going to school. I'm currently at a community college, but I can tell you just from looking around while I'm at school, that there are some people who may be priced out of school.

Sounds like another good reason to legalize weed and hookers.
Now a days, with the economy being what it is (ain't all much better in Canada, least in Ontario where I live) an education isn't that useful, and insanely expensive.
I couldn't get really any better job then I can now and even if I wanted to I can't afford to go to school.
It's sad they charge so much for so little.

If I could do it again, I'd consider going into a trade or starting at a company like FedEx and working my way up through management.
I ended up not going to law school like I initially planned, I no longer am using my graduate level teaching degree. Still payin all dem loans, though

Well, I live in Washington, so we got the weed thing already.....

Well gak.
Hookers is it.
I've never understood why it isn't legal in the first place, aside from the puritanical culture origins of the US. Legalizing and regulating prostitution/sex work can only make it cleaner and safer for all parties involved.
As long as the gov't will guarantee student loans, and a degree is almost a 'right' so the loans are given out like candy on Halloween, the universities can darned well charge what they want since they know it will be paid.

You forgot:
And with the government being the largest lender
Automatically Appended Next Post: Some of you may have seen this in the news:
What they're not telling you is the expected number of people that will qualify. The expectation is that around 1000 of their nearly 400,000 borrowers will be eligible, or a whopping quarter of 1%.

It will come a time, and it will be far sooner then later, when no one can afford to go to school (and it will do nothing for you) so no one will go.
Already my generation is a lot worse off then my parent's generation (I mean they're doing alright for themselves and I am doomed to a life of hoping for $11 an hour).
And in a country like Canada or the US (it has been suggested that I move to the US though I see no point) one should feel there is a tad more to offer, I donno, maybe I am just a miserable soul.

That assumes demand remains the same or increases.

You see it declining?
We tell kids they NEED a college education and it is their right to have one. They apply for a loan they are guaranteed to get.
I think the assumption is sound. The numbers seem to agree:
WHy does he want to occupy a small town in Missouri?
