I can't find this option anywhere.

Does Dakka support following/subscribing to threads?

Look in your profile. You have an option there to subscribe to threads that you reply to.

I seem to be automatically subscribed to any thread I reply to. That's... kind of useless.

I can just go to my replies and get the same results. Why does this functionality exist

I think Dakka could benefit from a subscribe button on the first post of every topic, and a greater emphasis on thread subscription. But that's a story for another day I guess... Thanks for the info dude!

The default setting within your profile is to subscribe to any thread you reply to. You can change it if you wish, and there's a manual subscribe button at the bottom of the page.

Scroll to the bottom of the page in a thread, in the bottom left there is a subscribe button.

The function exists because any thread you have posted in will be bumped to the top of your subscription this highlighting any new content. I use it a lot.
Checking through your list of posts made is kinda slow way of doing it.

This is the answer to your question.

As an aside: Lego, could we get a 'Subscribe' button put in between the 'Post Reply' and 'Exalt +1' buttons? Seems to be a better locale for the function. I guess the 'Email me' link could be up there as a button too(I've never used it)?

Oh, there it is. I had to google "subscribe thread dakka" to find this thread to find where the subscribe button is after looking at a thread I want to subscribe to for about 5 minutes. Hidden down the bottom under the Quick Reply window, It's not where you'd expect.
