Boxset is right at 20% off the price of the models or like 5% off if you don't include the lychguard/praetorians. If it's available as a normal retailer item and you can get another 20-25% off it's a pretty solid deal for the box set. Especially when 2 is likely to net you a nice 1,500pt force depending on the new point values. Pretty solid actually.

Considering that you'll also get ten Deathmark heads in the box set, that's five Royal Court per box even if they haven't successfully fixed one of the assault elites.

Unless you're in Australia, where the price is around 42% more than the straight GBP->AUD conversion!

That book looks good...but man, I'm having a hard time keeping up. I should be dropping armies, instead I keep starting new ones Ah well, I suppose it's better this than going to bar tabs and vidya games

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

That's not a bad box set. I've been needing more Immortals, another 3 Wraiths, and 1 more Barge. Cool.

P.S. Those are Praetorians, not Lychguard.

People are calling them lychguard because you can build either one of those units from those sprues.

They are the same box, like Immortals and Deathmarks: http://www.games-workshop.com/resources/catalog/product/600x620/99120110012_TriarchsXbox.jpg

codex was suposedly leaked, havent seen any pages yet though.

Dont know if I believe gauss is sx2 on a roll of 6 or that tesla dident change any at all though.
aparently shards have 4 different manifestations/ weapon choices, and 6 powers that have to be rolled randomly at the beginning like psychic powers.

mindshackle scarabs rumor that it just inflicts a Ld or the unit suffers from fear would be nice though. but aparently there is a mindshackle scarab relic that does the same exact thing as the last one did, only on just 2d6 dice, so I imaging that will be taken every list forever anyways, and we will see no difference other than the effectiveness of it.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

I read those too on /tg/
But he yelled stuff that was mostly on Faeit212 some week or two ago and ran away without giving a source.

In other news:
via TKoS on Faeit 212
I have your first Necron leak for you.

There will be a few new rules but no new units (And the obligatory 7th Ed “Balance” that we have all come to know and love)

a grand total of 12 hot new formations, ranging from mostly chaff to absolutely broken.

One of the bigger changes is that Cryptexs and Necron Lords now occupy an HQ slot of their own. For every HQ character in your list, you are allowed to take one of the new Cryptex/Lord detachment (ala warlock council) which is between one and five characters each.

The old royal courts we know and love are gone, but are now a formation (Aptly called a Royal Court) consisting of an Overlord, 1+ Cryptexs, and 1+ Lords.
The Overlord may not take a Command Barge, and all the characters are clumped into one unit.
+1 to reanimation protocol (which is not going away or changing) which stacks with a resurrection orb, and some other buffs that I can’t remember, but one had to do with phaerons (Oh, and any phaeron in your detachment MUST be your overlord).

Sounds reliable, but that might be because a lot of info is already known.

Please link the pics from page 32 then. While we are discussing them we had no pics and didn't know what the contents were.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Page 32 had the first pic, with the price and everything.
So we were discussing the box.
Then on page 34 we got the picture and the content, which we continued to discuss.

No Troops? I haven't read my Necron codex in a long time so not sure if the guys with the double guns are troops or not. (been so long forgot the names as well)

Is there any savings here? $240 seems quite a bit. Is this an all in one bundle deal or is there actual savings like in the Tyranid kits?

It's a 20% off in my country, so I expect the same in Canada.
The 'double barrels' are called Immortals and are our Sv3+ Troops with S5 weapons.

There was already a pic of the Tomb Awakened. Hence why we were discussing it...

I wonder what that was about. All I see is 4chan. How does this apply?

So it sounds like for each Overlord you can only get 1 Cryptek and 1 Lord?

Immortals are troops until the new codex says otherwise.

1-5, but we have no confirmation of that.

It really sounds strange.
As I read it you can take a Formation for every HQ.
That would be awesome, units unlocking access to Formations seems like a fun way to handle stuff like this.

The strange part is that a RC has:
-1 Overlord
-1 to 5 Crypteks
-1 to 5 Lords

If I already need a HQ to unlock this Formation, why would I want an additional Overlord?
There is such a thing as too many HQ's

Still. They way it's presented on Faeit is wrong. Reanimation Protocols did change to a "save"-like mechanism before a model is removed, similar (but not identical to) FNP. It's no longer something you roll after a model has been removed as a casualty.

Where does the extra overlord come from? I read it as: Take an overlord, then you can probably add x amount of lords/crypteks to make it count as the formation? Or am i missing something or am i totally wrong?

Well, the wording is weird.
Every time I read it, it sounds different.

Now it sounds like:
a) You have the old Royal Court with a different wording and name.
b) You have a Formation called Royal Court.

I can't wait for the Codex to be released!

Sentient Void

I never buy models with less than a 25% off MSRP. Besides, the Stalker makes this a no buy for me, the two I have only see play in bigger games and a third would never see play.

The help here is that, based on the picture, I finally pulled the trigger on a bunch of Acrylic 32" conversion rings. Good thing I do not need to do this for a horde like Tyra- crap! I just started making a second Tyranid army...

From a cost perspective everything is shaping up well. I can splurge on the Cryptek codex, possibly pick up some Praetorian/Lychguard (if elevated) and the newly formatted Destroyer boxes (if elevated).

From my financial and modeling perspective everything is ideal. The real question now is the playability of the Codex.

Paradigm for a happy relationship with Games Workshop: Burn the books and take the models to a different game.

I generally have one or two Stalkers stomping about the battlefield. They're quite awesome with the Heat Ray on- has a War of the Worlds feel to it when you fry things with it.
