If you are still learning to paint I do recommend priming black but try a few models priming white and seeing what that gives you. When you get better at it you can do special models in white and rank and file in black.

What white primer do you use? I've only ever primed black but thinking of priming white for my Skitarii because I am definitely leaning heavily towards doing white or cream colored robes...

I may have missed someone else saying this, but...

Seriously? A dunecrawler with sharp pointy feet?

That's akin to walking across a desert in Stiletto heels.
Just what is with GW and these awful spikey footed walkers? :-(

Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.

They make their assets look fine, just like stiletto heels.

(IIRC there are alternate foot pads, spikes work well for some terrain)

Ok, the profile from a different angle is slightly different to a sentinel's, but it still looks like a sentinel's daddy-tank

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

Guys,

Quick one.

Could you give me fluffy reason to validate different colour scheme on specific Forge World skitarii?

I really like all of them, but because I am a poor painter - I think, I need something simpler.

Also fluffwise - which BL book can you recommend for "first one". I would like to build some nice, cheesy narrative around my force.

Thanks!

Im doing a forgeworld that was lost during the horus heresy, and they have been outisde of the imperium for so long they have basically reverted to mad max style living.

Again, idk about a plastic Titan. Even I'm skeptical and I would kill for that to happen. But what I'm more seriously wondering is it the inclusion of FW on the gw site and possibly in the stores might signal a start to including those units in the gw codexes. Or at least some of them.

Ive used a bunch, these days I just use overpriced GW white as the supplier I use to order online from went out of business.

I do my guys in red robes but with a lot of bone armor. For the bone i either paint in a light brown and then drybrush up or start with bone and then use a wash depending on the model.

On the Internet

Adeptus Mechanicus Onager Dunecrawler:
Owing its origin to the lost knowledge of millennia, the Onager Dunecrawler is based on the Mars Universal Land Engine; itself inspired by the bad-tempered beasts of burden that transported their masters across Holy Terra in ancient times. The Onager Dunecrawler, rather than being a mere people-carrier, is absolutely brimming with advanced, powerful weaponry capable of reducing worlds to wastelands.

A light walking tank, the Onager Dunecrawler features four crab-like legs with optional armour plating. The armoured cabin and reactor are complemented by a huge variety of modelling options, with searchlights, smoke launchers, cognis manipulators and mindscanner probes; and the cupola can be modelled closed or open, featuring a Princeps wielding a heavy stubber. You get a massive amount of configuration and customisation available even before applying weaponry.

On the subject of weaponry, included in the box are four variants: an eradication beamer, twin phosphor blasters with sensors, a neutron laser featuring a coaxial cognis heavy stubber or an Icarus array - an awesome anti-air assault package comprising twin autocannons, a gatling flak launcher, an armour-piercing missile launcher and a radar dish.

Included with this 119-component multi-part plastic kit, making one Onager Dunecrawler, is a small Adeptus Mechanicus transfer sheet and a 130mm round base.

They can be left off or modelled stowed up against the legs. Which is pretty nice touch I thought..

right overwatch...

so I'm trying to figure out how I'll build my two Dunecrawler while keeping a good synergy between them (want them as a squadron for the 5++). Anyone has suggestions? the Icarus Array is very tempting as I rarely play with flyers and usually lack AA in my lists...but I don't want two of them same :/

So I'm returning to 40k after a looong hiatus. I only have an old Eldar force left and really wanna come back due to AdMech being my jam, but here's the thing... Do I need an already built Imperial force to use these guys or barring that I have to buy enough Skittari for an uber expensive formation?

Been out of the loop for some time so excuse my asking dumb questions.

If you want synergy, an identical pair is exactly what you want. I'd say go with the pair of Icarus platform.
