I'm confused? What's in that picture, besides a character from Angel Beats in a Nazi uniform? I know Europe has restrictions concerning Nazi symbols and the Nazi swastika is an enormous elephant specially for some of them, but that image isn't exactly offensive or shocking.

Oh, and Japan doesn't give a feth about it. And let's be honest, the black SS uniforms were beautiful, it's a pity their owners.... yeah, we know how history goes.

Well, they were designed by Hugo Boss.
The Nazis were bastards, but at least they knew how to dress.
Sort of like the Mafia, really.

It might be that it's suggestive of Nazi-sympathizing, or possibly a simple issue of glorification of the regime. It's one thing to admire the dress uniforms and emulate them, it's another to use the specific imagery and badges of office of that group. They could just as easily replaced the swastica and SS tag with, I don't know, a red square inside the circle and an AB on the collar.

It's like that thing where, what was it, Tailand?- youth were basically idolizing (as in, American Idol or a J-pop Idol) Hitler, with t-shirts featuring him and entire classes dressing up as stormtroopers and goosestepping around their school courtyard- not because they identify with Nazi politicks, but just because they thought they 'looked cool' and didn't really know about the atrocities and social issues associated with that imagery.

You'd think Japan would know better.

Then again, arguing Devil's Advocate, I suppose that after a certain amount of time, Nazis will have to become just another 'face of evil' in history- a warning about totalitarianism gone bad, but perfectly acceptable to joke about, make fun of, or dress up as, with the aesthetic separate from the ideology. Like the Mongol hordes.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

But if Japan knew better, then I wouldn't have my female Hitler!

Or like them call her: Adorufu-tan!

Give the card game "Barbarossa" a look It's now translated to English amongst other languages. (And yes, they changed the swastica to what looks like a mix of the nazi swastica and the iron cross - it IS an alternate universe after all. )

To my knowledge, Grisaia is the only anime I'm watching based on a VN, and I don't feel hampered by not watching shows based on VNs... Granted I was at the damn bus incident by the time I looked up the source material, hooked by that point..

A lot of people look down on season 2 because of the animation being taken over by studio DEEN, the "pointless kids arc", and the lack of Shiroe being Shiroe,

I liked most of the kids, so I didn't mind that arc, I generally don't notice differemces in animation quality, but I would have preferred more Shiroe

I kind of feel like the show moves at a glacial pace anyways, so the kids arc ended up feeling too long away from the main characters story. I didn't really notice the animation differences though honestly. All that being said, I do like the way they tied the end of the kids arc up so that they grew a little as useful characters for later and that their arc helped to reveal some more main plot.

Offhand, is anyone else as impressed as I am with the intro music for Owari no Seraph? It's weird, I don't enjoy the show all that much, but the intro music is actually like pretty good techno that I could see adding to a playlist just by itself.

Didn't the main person responsible for that pass unexpectedly or something? Could be totally wrong. Just thought I heard it to that nature.

Watching Eureka Seven. Its ok so far. I think I watched at least part of it in the past but I've pretty much forgotten that.

Monty Oum. Complications from what should have been a routine surgery, from what I heard. It's super tragic, and since he was the main writer, animator, and one of the voice actors, I wouldn't hold my breath on another season.

About Eureka Seven- I think that's a show that gets better later in the run, gets better with a re-watch, and gets better as you get older. It's got a lot of deep stuff, a lot of adult stuff, in it. Relationship heavy without being over-romantic.

I hardly even noticed animation differences. Just some odd quirks guess I know the reason now. Never bothered me though

Eureka Seven is pretty good. First time I saw Adult Swim air an extra disclaimer about No, seriously, this episode gets fethed up, but we don't want to censor it so consider this an extra strong warning. They later started airing that extra disclaimer a lot so it lost its impact, but that first time, damn. Also I think the level of violence in that episode has gotten to be fairly standard, though not a constant run of the mill.

Besides, OBVIOUSLY, Non Non Biyori, "Overlord" caught my eye. It seems the main character is a skeleton, "the most powerful wizard", bent on "world domination". Sure, it's inside a MMO world, but hell, this plot does seem refreshing. Usually it's the hero trying to stop said domination

Ok, Gate looks awesome too. JSDF vs Dragons and such? This I have to see

Overlord looks interesting, and I'll probably want to check out Jitsu wa Watashi wa after enjoying the manga so much (although I'm still a little bitter that they got rid of it's unique style).

I'm digging the visual design.
Its my kind of strange.

I like how for the first two episodes its all light and fluffy, typical magical girl fair, and then episode 3 comes along and slaps you with a sockful of tragedy.

I also like how afterwards the ending theme changes to reflect the change in tone; prior it was a light little ditty, to hide the darkness that's come.
