I don't think I've ever actually seen the Japanese Akira. And yeah, the English version is phenominal. There's a reason it was a huge success over here, and why it's been so long before anyone's tried making a live-action version. Everyone loves it so much they really, really want to do it justice.



Speaking of 80's anime variants, does anyone know where I could find the rest of the original Bubblegum Crisis? The first 4 episodes are on YouTube, but after that, the only ones I can find are the Tokyo 2080 ones- the 90's remake. And I want my hardsuits wristless, dangit!

2040, and I'd be curious to watch the original show as well, never caught it anywhere. Plus I've got the four hardsuits that one company made in 25mm but they're the older series and I'd like to watch it for color coordination purposes

Is any anime referenced more than Akira? The two shots with the bike, walking towards it and the skid stop, appear in So Many other shows and shots.

What I wanna know is where these people keep finding all of those nounnoun fruits that give them super powers. Are they really rare and our protagonists are extremely lucky, or do they grow all over but most people just aren't that crazy.

I think a little bit of both. They're common enough that you could probably find one easily enough if you looked, but then rare enough that they're really, really expensive- especially because they're all unique, and it takes a lot of expertise to identify one before eating.

Then there's the fact that most people wouldn't want them, and so that ups the price as well- lower demand, with equal supply and all that (though that would traditionally drive the price down, the 'superpowers' factor makes up for it). You find one and don't want to eat it, you're going to hold on to it until some rich crazy bastard comes and pays you a billion berries for it. Or it gets stolen by pirates.

Never saw the first one. Never heard of the first one. Liking this one so far though. Was a bit amused by the guy being completely uninterested in the naked girl instead of the usual overreaction.

You should track it down. It was pretty good.

Bishamon isn't bad, she's just over emotional and depressed and uses Yato as something she can focus on to blame, and Yato seems fairly willing to let her since he avoids confronting her and all.

No man Bishamon is literally the worst, worse than evil. Like you said, overly emotional, blames others wrongfully, extremely stubborn. Like I wouldn't be upset at all if Yato just kills her or her servants get super sad and cause her to get sick and die

If her servants cause her to get sick than Yato will just kill them all again, because I'm like 100% sure that's this super secret mysterious reason why he killed them all the first time. I mean is Yato any better? He'd gotten Really messed up in the first season when he was getting sick from his One Regalia and he didn't really do anything about it either. If Bishamon had killed his Regalia to save him, do you think he'd have thanked her for it? What if Yato had a dozen or so Regalia's and Bishamon killed them all to save him?

Yato's the man brah, and Yukine is aight. I'm almost certain he wouldn't have thanked her for killing Yukine, he loves him. Its also a totally different case bc I don't want Yato to get sick, he's cool. I just want Bishamon to get some sensed knocked into her. *Or die. Either works for me.

I got a pretty good chuckle a few minutes ago when a friend (he's new to Anime be kind) accused Iron Blooded Orphans of being a rip off of Aldnoah.Zero

Finished Gundam Unicorn and F91 last night. 8th MS Team is still my favorite UC Gundam, but man Unicorn came close, but I feel that's because of the advancement in technology.

Its oddly compelling. I love the monster designs, and the first few episodes are pretty impressive.

Ya and the art quality and combat choreography were amazing!

I mean Banagher could have been a better MC, but he had a really solid supporting cast.

Turn A's about the only one I could actually get into at the start of it.

I still hate that they still use the "FWEEeeemmm" sound effects for everything, though.

As to the Turn A dealio, I'm slowly getting to the point where I've seen more Gundam than I've not seen. Turn A has been a bit of a challenge because I keep losing focus while sitting at my desk watching it. I like it, and I'm getting my HG Turn A Gunpla kit painted by Dakka's own Ramos Asura (won't be standard scheme), but I need to be in anime watch mode so I can binge it.
