Yeah the Mary-Sue-ness was pretty rough. Nobody can beat the dodge game (basically same thing as that quarters-on-a-shelf-hope-yours-knocks-a-pile-off-game) because they rely on a game mechanic that makes things easier to dodge. Kirito's answer? feth your noob-centric cheater mechanics, I'll fly that gak manual (fuggin Tanikaze... they should totally hang out), and then go on to play in the biggest gun-game competition with a SWORD. Bwahaha. He does get marks for both his sheer audacity AND having a light saber though.

The only thing that bothers me about the pseudo-harem is that he's hogging probably half of the chicks that even play ALO. From what I could tell at the BoB, he stole the only good female player from GGO to add to his ALO harem. Spread the love around dude... And all Klein can do is hang out and wish they'll all stop pining after Kirito (well or find a lady his age as he's what 6-7 years older than the rest of them?).

And then they go back to ALO, where him and his personal friends get to run a top end dungeon, find TWO legendary one of a kind weapons, alter the landscape of the game, and then the dungeon falls apart so no other player ever gets to even See it, much less try to run it.

To be fair, they don't usually do dungeon runs- and I feel like ALO (and a lot of those games) are trying to set up more dynamic worlds, with the big raids being one-off and having consequences. At least, that's what I'd do if I had a supercomputer system capable of that level of simulation.

I'm almost done with Gundam X, this story is all over the place. I mean I didn't quite figure out/learn what the villains' plans were until episode 36! Ugh. The series has been very good, but man it has felt disjointed the whole time.

I'll give it to Kirito towards the end of the second season, while he did help out in no small way, he did step aside and let Asuna have the spotlight for several episodes. He had to swing by and flex is OP once or twice but he was pretty well behaved about it. Getting her own arc kind of makes up for the crap Asuna had to go through at the end of the first season too.

Much feels at the end. Do we suspect there is more of this to come? Certainly they could easily come up with more for the characters to do, though the end of season 2 was endy enough to be done too.

There are more light novels but they get kind of melocramatic (or rather moreso).

Yeah, that was my experience, I don't remember it being bad, but just not really memorable.

Been really digging Iron Blooded Orphans so far, but dreading a Simon/Kamina corollary. Hoping for a slick MG Barbatos kit

I also got the Simon/Kamina feels of Mikazuki and Orga. And this is Gundam. People have a tendency to die

I think during the announcements they announced a 1/100 kit (normal scale for MG) but the price makes it look more like a HG. BUT the currently released Barbatos kit is really good for a HG. It's practically a RG, with lots of little options for weapons and armor configurations.

And it's like 10 bucks, so not too shabby

Edit: Finished Gundam X, and now I have to figure out which series to watch next. I'm thinking 0083: Stardust Memory.

So, Noragami is kinda meh.
I can care less for no. 6. I mean, why the hell does it interesting story like that have to involve yaoi every 5 seconds?
I want to binge all of seven deadly sins. But I want to be surprised when I watch it with the anime club.
Finally, I hate Tatami glaxy. I dont care if it is "artsy" its just bad.

Because Bones knows which side their bread is buttered on.

Or it could be as simple as the manga's authors enjoy yaoi and thus insert it into their work.

Spent today and probably tomorrow catching up on IBO and OPM. IBO keeps getting better and even the side characters outside of Tekkadan are compelling.

A universal truth of that multiverse , unfortunately.

I've been digging the RG kits from build fighters quite a bit, but I like the larger scale for detail and posibility. But I'll check em both out I recall enjoying 0083, so have fun on that.

I'm not especially digging it. A lot of unnecessary groping, weird child/adolescent yet not character(s?) and some really impressive violence that hasn't managed to yield any fatalities so far (just a few episodes in). Throw in the talking pig and I dunno...not in love. Probably slog out a few more episodes just for lack of something else though.

I need to give that a watch at some point just to see what the fuss is about.

I've started re-watching D-Frag! in between YuruYuri and Is the Order a Rabbit now. I forgot how friggin' cute Roka was.

Wonder what next season has for my moe quota....

On moon miranda.

Love me some 0083, it really is a series where the bad guys are really the stars of the show, persevering through skill, determination, ruthlessness and desperation against a foe (the good guys) who generally outguns and massively outnumber them. The animation was great too, really well done.

The love twists were pretty dumb though.

I'm taking a Gundam break to watch Revolutionary Girl Utena. Once this show about lesbians, cars, and fighting (at least that's what I think it's all about) I'll return to Gundam.

RGU is one of the big classics. Good on ya for watching- just watch out, because it has some deeper themes than you'd initially think.

Cyporean has been pushing me to watch it for like five months now. The release of the blurays has prompted me to seek it out.

The random groping does fade as things progress from lighthearted/silly to a bit more serious. I agree that it’s unnecessary. You can have a leach of a main character without going over into what amounts to sexual assault.

The hyper-violence with no body count is due to the fact that the knights are basically superheroes.

Talking pig? Not for much for that besides just saying “It’s anime” and rolling your eyes. I’ve watched worse cute talking animal sidekicks.

My wife sat me down to watch that series a few years back. She'll be glad to know it was re-released. It's definitely an odd trip, but I enjoyed it.

Speaking of 7DS, Japan police just arrested two Chinese nationals for copyright violations. Apparently someone was selling them raws of upcoming chapters days before normal release and those raws were being uploaded to websites for scanlation groups.
