Oh, and I don't think I've seen it posted, so this year's free figure...

This year's theme was Agincourt, so we got an English Longbowman sculpted by Alan Perry - can be assembled with bow and two fingered alute, or wielding a mallet.

Great day at salute yesterday. Highlights of the show;

Spartans Halo Fleet Game, models are amazing and the game itself looks good. So glad it's not based on the DW rules. Looked to be about half way between x-wing and battlefleet gothic.

Alien vs Predator by Prodos, again fantastic models, can't wait for it to hit retail.

Demo and gaming boards, nothing looks as good as fully painted armies on a detailed board. Really inspires me to get on and paint more stuff.

Lowlights, Most of the stuff I wanted wasn't for sale yet. The terminator board game looked underwhelming. And I didn't get in as many demo games as I would have liked.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

I was demo'ing Batman for simple miniature games so maybe I got to meet some of you guys in person!

Really really busy this year but I did get chance to have a quick look at what I was after.

Luckily I was next to Hawk so picked up the show only models.

I was very happy to make it across to Dakkas table with Maelstroms Edge!

Other than that I only got chance to have a quick run round and see some of the other tables. The BoW Starwars Table was awesome, there were loads of ship battles going on and the Dropzone Resistance Vs Scourge table was amazing too!

All in all best show so far and already looking forward to next year!

I would like to say that the Warlords should be very proud of their show as it's by far the biggest show I go to every year and by far it's the best and extremely well organised!

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Firstly, what a day..! Cheers for the guys who have posted pics up already.

Had a bit of a transport cock-up and didn't end up arriving until getting on for 2 in the afternoon, which meant I was trying to cram the entire show into three hours, as well as shepherd some people around that hadn't been to a show before. As the Japanese say, "Impossibru"

This meant (for shame) that I missed the Maelstrom's Edge stand, that Hoth battle, and didn't get a chance to play any games. Also, missed the free goody bag!

What I did see though
- the AvP game (all the Predators stood on the temple with the sea of aliens coming out of the jungle was just awesome)
- that Russian ship with the British marines attacking was great. Actually, just the number of absolutely nuts display set ups, there must have been hundreds if not thousands of man hours for some of them.
- Stingray and Battlestar Gallactica, those looked very popular.
- That Hawk Wargames spaceship is just incredible, the Halo game looked very nice too!
- The amount of just totally random stuff that you only ever see at shows like Salute; the people 'driving' large scale sail ships around (which were at waist height) being one of those!
- Got my photo taken with the 8ft-tall Space Marine and Imperial Guardsman of course!

All in all really looked like a success. Friend of mine who works for Gripping Beast said they had packed a lot more into the show space this year (after increasing the hall area size the year before), arrived home absolutely exhausted but was totally worth it!

My show haul - asides from the show freebies and the Termintaor Genysis sprues, Eisenkern Rifle Squad and some bits from Zinge Industries

I was going to buy some clear plastic bases from Fenris and the Bolt Action D-Day: Firefight box set, but both items were out of stock by the time I got to the stands selling them

Don't fret it. We all thought that at one point. Many moons back.

Ok this is my 1 of 6 reports of the event.

I was quite curious about AVP after last year salute so I spent some time at Prodos and tried to cover as much as possible. Warzone stuff is looking great too.
Quite impressed with the quality of the minis a shame that Prodos site seems a bit vague in therms of miniatures pictures, these look so good IRL.

Aliens still looking good crossing fingers that they are for sale soon.

Some random pics as appetizers.

A big thanks from Wayland from those that visited us. A massive day for us and one my feet will take a while to recover from. A big thanks also to all the demo teams that supported us. You were all brilliant.

Was good to meet yakface and Lego to talk about Maelstroms edge.. Helped that they were next to us.

And finally big thanks to my staff who I know spend weeks preparing for Salute. I hope you are sleeping today.

Only managed to look around briefly so didn't get to see all that I wanted but it was definitely busier than last year.

I have two questions for those who went: Can anyone confirm who made the C-130 diorama for Salute?

Also, who had the ducted fan dropship?

Thanks

I've only skimmed through the topic and the event seems impressive, most impressive.

Spoiler:

What's the name of this game?

My money's on a homebrew game or adaptation. Those models look like the old die-cast toys, I used to have them as a kid. It's a 60s british TV show called Stingray.

Report 2 is finally edited, just to many pictures to clean up...

So this time I look into Hawk wargames stand... It was incredible to look at the Huge spaceship in all its glory, also the new fleet minis on their stand was quite a surprise for me.
Further I took a few pics of Halo and Battlestar galactica.

I think this year we were all spoiled for options.

Again just a few pics not to flood the forum to much.

@navarro, thanks for your write up , someone said that the BSG game was homemade model and rules for full thrust. Glad to see they have a webstore on shape ways. I tried their website, but there seams to be issues going on. All their buttons either don't work or just redirect to their main page.

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere but did anybody else notice Jes Goodwin and Duncan Rhodes wandering around?

Guessing they were just there as punters but anybody know if they were there for any other reason?

One of the overlooked treasures of Salute was the cutaway 28mm Krivak frigate with an 80's cold war boarding party game.

The warship was very nicely done, with removable decks so the action took place throughout the ship (well down to C deck anyway). There was a detailed CIC, bridge, secondary bridge, stores and quarters etc, very nicely done, as well as the more obvious deck furniture and deck stores. Lovely model and very impressive, but the presentation was underdone so it didn't get a lot of camera attention. It didn't help that modern warships look grey and drab, and Soviet ones are very functional inside, so it didn't easily catch the eye first time unlike the space stuff. In fact I am yet to see pictures of it, pity because it was in its own way a far more impressive a job than the flash warship Hawk Wargames use as a showpeice.

Thanks Mannahnin for your kind words.
