Technically it wasnt a cold war scenario, but a WW3. The krivak was in the Baltic, got disabled and was boarded for intel but RM and SBS.
A nice scenario, a gunfight on a ship with 3d.
I would have preferred a real cold war scenario, something along the lines of Krivak is broken down and drifts within 12 miles of UK coast well outside of an international shipping lane.
UK team has right to board on international law due to its location, because the vessel is visibly stricken and due to navigational safety. Soviet captain and zampolit have other ideas, they need to keep the 'rescue team' and 'safety inspectors' away long enough for a Mil-8 to arrive with replacement parts.
Neither side can afford to shoot, neither side wants to back down. UK forces gain points for every room they get to inspect from the inside, every emissions or weapons platform they get to 'safety assess' with bonus points for CIC and bridge.
After a certain number of turns the helo arrives with the parts to get the engine working, the Soviets then can get away with claiming the vessel is no longer stricken.

Some pictures on Gates of antares and Sir Cavatore Terminator game.
http://mr-bugman.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/salute-report-3of6-gates-of-antares.html
I confess that Gates of antares is growing into a range that I would like to collect, really nice stuff. I think its one of those slow burners games.
Terminator is looking interesting I wonder how this license will expand.

Jes is a really nice guy, as is Duncan but they both looked very busy so didn't get a chance to chat which was a shame.
I totally didn't see John Blanche who is also ace which is a shame as haven't seen him for ages.

Did anyone see Mike Mcvey or Mcvey studios? I looked for it but I just did not manage to find it? Was a bit strange.
In for another update.

I took a look into some fantasy ranges, mierce was clearly one of the biggest and FIgone one of the most eyecandy, plenty of options but I think this year fantasy was really not as strong as Scifi with all their mainstream licenses.

They are from

The minis were top stuff and they had boxes of 12ish minis per faction too.
Very tempting I know.

Wow, going through this thread has been great! Gave me a couple of games to look into, especially the new Halo games and the shots of the MEdge Scarecrows!
Now I just have to decide which space battle game is worth picking up, the Halo one or the DZC game...Hmm...

Don't forget Firestorm Armada! That had several display games set up on the Spartan Games stand and seemed to be getting a lot of attention.
And Starwars: Armada..

No unfortunately, although it did look like they had at least 2-3 quite large display tables with games going on (in addition to the new Halo game).
Think there were a couple of club tables/demo games outside of Spartan also with games being played, which was surprising although perhaps not so if the new ruleset is being as well received as I had heard.
Funnily enough it didn't look like they had any Dystopian Wars tables running though.

I know the feeling Ruglud, I missed a huge chunk of stuff too I think I needed another full day in order to cover the rest. As it stands I barely had time to cover the bits I'm more curious about.
Update 5
Lots of projects and new minis on many of the "smaller" stands. Quite surprised with Afterlife! Speechless about those cool figures.

Those Lucid Eye figures are pretty nice looking.
Simians are nice and all, but I really like their Cro Magnons. I've been wanting to do some sort of early man campaign, maybe with a dash of fantasy thrown in here and there.
Might have to make an overseas order soon.
I'll vouch for the Afterlife stuff from Anvil as well. My brother got a bunch from the Kickstarter and it's top notch stuff. Made me regret having to save my money at the time.
My favorite thing to look at are those Mierce displays, just seeing how huge some of their figures are. Doesn't matter how many I own either. I never get tired of seeing those massive piles of resin!

All that I know is that this is on a very advanced stage and will be live on Kickstarter very soon. The minis are quite good too and there are lots of monsters. The game is like a modern horror story and survivors.
Time for the last Update
http://mr-bugman.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/salute-report-6of6-conclusion.html
It has been a blast all the Salute and the reports and lots of people I have meet. I regret some things like forgetting to cover Maelstrom, Painting contest and others! I guess there was way to many distractions and for example Maelstrom I was so happy to meet Dakaite masters that I did not take pictures... I can report that the 2 big minis I was shown there will rock when they hit the KS.

In any case, the "Year of the Space Combat Game!" continues with the news (at least for me) of a Battlestar Galactica space game to join Star Wars Armada, Halo, and Dropzone Commander in the battle for your wallet (or purse).
