Ignore all the teen boys crying about the choice of music, I think it worked well save for the last 20 seconds. But damn, thats a cool trailer.

Too bad it won't look like that in game.

Also, lol at the 'critical loot drop'.

Yeah, it's easy to have nice graphics when all you're showing is pre-rendered cinematics and no actual gameplay.

Actually, for a pre-rendered cinematics trailer, I find the genestealers to be somewhat on the poor side. They feel more like plastic animatronic-puppets than genuine biological creatures moving. Organic textures and movements aren't their forte.

The dark behind the eyes.

To be honest, I could barely make out their movements - since about 90% of their screen time was spent either in super slow motion or moving as a blur whilst the camera is swung about by a child with ADHD.

My point was more along the lines of 'don't expect things to look like this in the actual game'.

Seriously, hip hop? Because when I think a of gothic sci-fi fantasy setting, I think hip hop.
Now if were just the mariachi band music, that would have been better.
Could have given a Good, Bad and the Ugly vibe.

Despite the flaming, I actually quite liked the trailer. Hell, I even like the music. This shows that Focus Home Interactive isn't afraid to try new things.

We don't know how the actual game will be but at least their trailers are awesome

I can't wait to see actual gameplay, but by the Holy Emperor, that is the worst music you could have picked for a 40k game.

I agree. I was surprised how well it actually fits with the video. Awesome trailer indeed.

I liked the music, it fit the cinematic. Looked very comic-book-ish, which was a good thing in my opinion.

Slo-mo, the video game!

Of cause it looks good. It is a pre-rendered trailer designed to pull you in.

The choice of music was... weird. It worked, somehow. But it still felt a bit out of place. Felt more like an elaborate James Bond into cinematic if you ask me

Hip hop is not my thing and yet that was... slightly amazing. Her subtle channeling of Amy Winehouse, the violent splash of hiphop in the middle and the later switch to pasodoble perfectly translate to the imagery and feel of 40k.

It's good to see 40k branch away from the well-treaded path of metal/goth/neoclassical/industrial from time to time.

It says it uses Unreal Engine 4, which if so means that yeah it should look around what that trailer shows.

I agree completely. I liked the music choice. Hopefully the game will be able to spur a greater interest from the general gamer audience and not just Warhammer fans.

I love my Deathwing. Best unit in the game. And I love Space Hulk. The real question is if they'll pull it all together well, and if I'll have a new best game ever or just another flop with the 40k logo on it.

GW didn't hire anyone.
And this music fits the video better than any metal or "epic" choir would, it's almost as if the video was made after they chose the music because that is how perfectly it fits.

As a DA player I love the idea of finally seeing my chapter fight in a video game! I couldn't tell what type of game it was (maybe was painfully obvious to everyone else lol), but I would probably play it no matter what!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

That doesn't mean squat. Look up "Saxxy Awards winners" and look at how nice they are. Compare them to Team Fortress 2 proper. Both use the Source Engine but the Source Film Maker made stuff is much better looking.

All I'm getting is there are people in this thread who have a bit too much of the "grimness"; the music fit it perfectly, a version with no vocals would have even gone better.

(I hope this gets appended damn phone)

Those use the same models from the game, all the assets are the same. They just make custom animations and specific lighting sources.

Despite the silly music, I'm finding myself intrigued. I mean, it's based on the Unreal 4 engine, so at least it's not going to drown in its own glitches.

I guess we'll just have to see if the dialogue/level design/etc. is any good. I might well have to give this a try.

Also, don't forget the previous trailer they had for this game:

I wouldn't even have cared if it was just hip hop. That song is absolutely dreadful. European hip hop is generally pretty awful, but mixing it with cues from a 60s or 70s Western movie score... Jebus.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

I kinda liked it. In part simply because it's different, but also because I think it fit the "James Bond Intro" feel they were going for.

If this isn't co-op online I will very sad indeed, I don't want the co-op to be another call of duty fest against other players I want 4-5 blokes holding corridors against unlimited stealers, and a little cam in the top right corner showing me what the other players are doing. That would be boss
