The biker-Priest is awesome, Sm3g! I've added those pics to thte OP for now, if you get any better ones before time's up then let me know and I'll swap them.

All these finished minis are reminded me I need to get a shift on with my own entry. Damn those pesky Eldar for distracting me!

Hi Pradigm.
I've had some huge stuff going on - family illness, work stuff etc. I think having returned to painting after a long gap has meant that with the limited time available, the detail of my Ravenwing Command Squad, regardless of how cool, was a little much for me to handle right now. Can I submit a new replacement Proof pic with the hope that I can complete in time? If so, these are two tactical Dark Angels which I can use to complete the Tactical Squad I never got round to finishing:

GW - 670 pts || - 354 pts || - 46 pts || - 106 pts || LoTR - 400 pts (Evil) vs 0 pts (Good) || Space Hulk - 1/35 || Deathwatch Overkill - 0/50
Other MEdge: Karists - 23 points || Epirians - 0 points Shattered Earth: Awaiting delivery "Awakening" Terrain: Awaiting delivery DWMG2: 4/54

i really need a better photography set up, i fixed the settings on the camera, but the beige back ground is just throwing it off
maybe it just needs better lighting...

You need more light in the area, it's why it's gone all yellow. Stick a lamp or three in there at angles pointing to the figures (one above, two in front angled from left and right) and you should find it sorts your photos out.

Hope that helps.

Remember brothers, we paint not for ourselves, we paint for humanity, for glory, and for the Emperor! Now paint like the life of every man, woman and child in this universe depends on it!
- Unknown, attributed to a Chaplain of the Emperor's Painters Chapter

... in case anyone needed some motivation

I managed to get the 'no-really-I'm-not-evil' Chief Librarian of the Death Ravens done! BEHOLD HIS GLORIOUSNESS!

Spoiler:

The Chapter Master is pretty close to being finished as well, his base just refused to dry in the time I had reserved for painting, so I'll have to finish him later

Also, there are a lot of awesome models (and painters) on this thread. I salute you, Dakkanauts, may your glory not go unnoticed by the Emperor's light.

Nurgle decided I needed another blessing right after I got rid of a blasted infection by deciding I needed a cold, in the middle of this month...

I don't know if i'm going to make it either. I finally got my 4 dead space marines primed this weekend, I just got to paint em. I'll have to get pictures of the other 3 later, but at least my original picture of the one is still in the thread way back in the beginning.

There's no way I'm going to win, but I love seeing everybody's efforts.

I want to make a late entry. I built Chaplain Deiros of the Lamenters chapter at the weekend.

I am playing in a Badab Campaign at HATE Club in Bethnal Green, London. At the end of each of the major events, we get a character upgrade and a special item. My character turned out to be a rapid redeployment for a veteran sergeant, which I decided to give to a terminator sergeant. I also received the Gorgon's Breath, a heavy flamer with the shred, rending and gets hot rules (insanely awesome) and I decided to give it to a terminator chaplain. My original plan was to use the modern terminator chaplain I have. Then I changed my mind and decided to go for my old 2nd Ed era chaplain. He needed a height increase to go with my Space Hulk terminators, so het got a raised base and a flag pole on his back.

Here he is on Sunday afternoon. He now has a black undercoat, thin black basecoat and some checks on him, so update soon...

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

Love the old termi chaplain. Of course, it’s a rare chaplain I don’t love; as a group they are awesome sculpts full of zeal and flavor. The HF suits him. Burn the heretic!

According to the WH40k Wikia: "the Horned Skull or Open Book of the Librarium -- ancient and potent icons symbolising the power and knowledge that the Librarian possesses".

Although it probably has to do with the general population believing all psykers are the daemons, so it could be just another sign of the Imperium's rampant xenophobia.

Important notice:

As we're getting near the end now, I thought I'd remind you all that if you cannot finish in time, you can (if you want, you don't have to) submit a SINGLE WIP shot of your entry if you feel it is close enough to being done that you're happy for it to be voted on. Obviously, you won't get the automatic points for completion if you don't call it finished, but you can still go in for the vote and maybe grab some points there )or just see what people think of your work!)

For example, if you have a mini that just needs final highlight or weathering or whatever and you aren't going to have time to finish it, then throw up a WIP and I'll put it in the vote.

As with finished entries, please make it clear if you want the image to be put in for voting.

LordRahl, were any of the pics so far ones you wanted to submit, or are you going to keep experimenting? I'll add that last one to the OP as a placeholder, but let me know if you want it changed!

When is the closing date for this again btw, I couldn't see it in the OP.

I'm nearly finished if I can be bothered to do any more, I just don't want to miss the deadline.

The deadline is Midnight GMT on the 31st March. Could've sworn it was in the OP, but I'll check and add it to the title anyway!

Getting better,

What are you taking a photo with? Does it have the option to change a setting called "ISO".. if so you want it to be the smallest number possible, the higher the number the more "noise" (grainy) the image will have on it.

Keep in mind this will make your image darker but see how it goes....

Gosh there is some great entries here!

Mine is still progressing however is now on hold for a day or two while I knock my old shed down and prep a base for the new shed next week.

Thankfully the armor is all done and the banner is almost complete. Head needs a little more work along with the one detached arm and then there is the base... I'm still awaiting cork I ordered for that,

So little time and so much to do!!
