The great thong about zombicide is you can jump right in and learn the rules along the way, just like you did. One of the bad things in the game is when you start up a game and in the first 3-4 turns you spawn an abomination right near you . I was playing the prison outbreak game with my kids this last weekend and we spawned two abominations in the first 5 turns, one regular Abomb and one berserker abomination. Lets just say things went south real quick.

That's the thing about the Zombie Apocalypse; there wouldn't be an outbreak if everyone won all the time Zombies gotta replenish their numbers somehow!

Just played my first game of Black Plague and just wanted to check if we played correctly. We were having a pretty good time playing mission 1 until we went through a vault quickly to a building with all the outside doors still locked, killed the zombies that spawned, and just stood there for like 10-15 turns until we were all kitted out with crossbows and dragon bile and torches. The zombies all gathered outside and finally we just opened the door, killed them all easily and won. Did we play it wrong or is this supposed to work? It seemed super gamey and not fun.

Vault doors work just like normal doors. Once opened, zombies can path through them (and you will only have zombies cramming themselves up against a locked door when they have no paths to a noise source). So you should have had zombies streaming in behind you through the vault.

Yep, rereading it seems we did play it incorrectly, as I had hoped. Should be a great second game

For anyone still waiting for their game, check your pledge manager.
Mine had taken the money in October, but had not completed. So, when I pressed the button at the bottom again, I got another email telling me it had been processed.

I emailed them about an issue with the address section, and got told it is going through, but to wait for Wave 2 to get anything.

So, if you still don't have any stuff, do the pledge manager again. Mine had not worked the first time.

so guys, what do we know about wulfsburg? how are wolves any different than runners?
I mean I can only imagine they're fast so similarly have 2 actions.

on a side note, do you guys have any tips/tricks to keeping your boards together? mine tend to get bumped scattering tokens etc.
I wonder if blue tac would damage the boards and tokens?

id love to figure out how to get doors to stop jostling around.

Wolves have 3 actions, like Dogs in regular Zombicide.

Wolfbomination apparently does the same...

Has there been any word on when English rulebooks go out to French rulebook recipients?

Having a PDF up on my phone is not the same as flipping pages in the rulebook, and I don't read French...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Dude, You got a french version??? I'm Jealous , I though it would be really cool to get one, already read the rules online, so not as big of a deal to me, but I could see how that would be an issue.

Well, for boards, I guess you could use these drawer liners: http://www.amazon.com/Con-Tact-Premium-Non-Adhesive-Non-Slip-12-Inches/dp/B001AH8PLI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1452579961&sr=8-5&keywords=grip+liners

Painted up some of the zombies so far. Photo is kind of washed out. Found a chainsaw to mod onto Ash's hand... I mean "Troy's" hand when the second shipment comes. Best kickstarter ever.

thanks alex. I knew that I saw that you could remove spawn points somewhere but for the life of me couldn't find it again.
I only played the intro mission so didn't really delve into the necromancers rules yet.

a 2 damage weapon is a must then. I was only playing with 3 actors and matched what they were carrying on the fig so no hammer for me. I just changed fatties into walkers =P

gotta take baby steps right... lol

Start them off with 1 card each from the starter (grey back) deck. We like to distribute them randomly since trading between players is part of the fun. It also creates a bit of uncertainty when you're starting. The point of Fatties being tougher is to force you to search for more/better weapons - it's the balance between trying to get to the objective and the tension of trying to get a better weapon for the fatties as they slowly bear down on you. Same applies to the Abomination, though moreso.

Also, remember that when Necromancers spawn, they create a new (additional) spawn point where they spawned, and when you kill one, you can choose which one to remove from any on the board.

Oh yeah - also important. The game is designed so that you can lose the scenarios. Sometimes you'll be doing great and a bad turn of luck/dice/zombie spawn cards will lead to a chain reaction that kills you. Runners and extra activation cards are a nasty combo! It's just the way of the game, and forces you to take considered risks and sometimes play much more conservatively.

I'm a little under halfway through my box.
I've just finished my third row of zombies. I've also done two characters and the abomination.

Nice! How did you do the bases?

Nice! Those bases are really detailed. I have always opted against detailing my bases for Zombicide after painstaken years of detailing my Warmachine/Horde/Hobbit bases. I have finished my survivors and 4 rows of zombies. Wondering if the second half of the kickstarter will arrive before I am done. REALLY looking forward to moding "Troy" after watching season 1 of Ash vs Evil Dead.

A while back I got a pot of that citadel texture paint, stirland mud. I've been using it to add a bit of texture to the base.

For the lighter coloured ones, it's just:
Deneb stone base coat.
Cracks are a broad line of grey, with a thin brown line through the middle.
Then just a few splashes of camo green.
On some of them I just chuck on a few extra splashes of dark brown, or dark green. Maybe a bit of blood.
A light dusting of rotting flesh (slightly greenish off-white) to finish it off.

The brown ones are pretty much the same, except starting with a dark brown base coat instead of deneb stone.

Fantastic job Arson Fire, the bases really set it off nicely.

(also, great user name btw )

Have painted a bunch of mine but yet to upload any pics.

They are certainly wonderful minis for a board game, standard is right up there. Not just the sculpt detail and material quality (which is very good) but also the art style and concept of the minis is just wonderful. Whoever designed all of the stuff is very talented.

If you like it, put a vote on it
But yes, those bases are a perfect match for the boards.

Thanks everyone
I'll post some more pictures when I hit any milestones (although I'm pretty busy for the next couple of weeks, so it might be a while before I can get much more done).

EDIT: Just had my first game. We played mission 1, and it went fairly well. The only downside is that all of the torches were in the bottom 1/3rd of the deck, so the game dragged a bit before we were able to kill the abomination.
MVP went to Silas packing a pair of repeater crossbows. That definitely helped thin the herd.

And there's really no content in that one about the state of production or shipping, as it's all about the single box they sent out for "Christmas" and an ad for Army Painter paints.
