Knocked him out/whatever.

.... so she could trade him to the Boltons in exchange for Sansa.

Which is a good plan except for it now being somewhat ruined by a "leap of faith".

... And we've got Jamie on his way back -- super PO'ed over his daughter .

They might not want him in Kings Landing as they cannot afford any overt reprisals against Dorne -- can't afford it for one thing -- and one wonders if Cersei might reject or turn against him in some fashion, either due to her trauma or the whole dead daughter thing -- you had 1 job ! -- and you weren't there to protect her from the god squad etc etc.

Yea Im 99% sure Stannis is alive...but the tree he was sitting against might have a nasty chunk out of it now lol.

Every single major character to die has been shown on screen, it makes no sense to have stannis killed off screen considering this is game of thrones after all.

Also think about it, hes lost everything:army, daughter, wife, melisandre...death is an easy way out for him now...and Brienne probably knows that. Thats why he said "do your duty" he probably wants to die now rather than live with all his mistakes.

Stannis was also bleeding out in the freezing woods - he wants to die and Brieene is obligated to kill him - I can not see any in universe reason she would save him.

By the same reckoning we only see Mycella collapse bleeding not actually die.............although it looks pretty certain to me - sadly.

I am however super excited for the Tyrion / Varis double act.

I notice King Tommen was not in the last episode at all.....

Yep I know there is no reason to save him. So why did they cut the scene. This is game of thrones if we don't see his head roll we can't say he's dead. Maybe she leaves him to bleed out or be tortured by Ramsey. I guess we have to wait until next season to find our either way.

Pretty much.

Now the drawback about this being a show as opposed to the books, we're going to know for sure if these people survived long before we see the shows. The internet will find out if they've been cast or not.

And I just remembered the Jaime part of the episode. Much like the books, he's quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. They've decided to show his growth very differently from the books, but i'm glad they are still showing him to be much more then he was made out to be early on in the series.

The positive thing is that the show is being made - the books may never happen

Jamie is being shown as very much more sympathetic - much to the delight of my female friends - although I do remind them that he has been known to throw children out tower windows with merely a quip..........

His arrival back in KL should be interesting - although why he would not turn the ship around and get the ruler of Dorne to kill the Sand Snakes I don't know....................

In fairness, that incident was before he was knocked down a peg or two. I don't think he'll be pushing any other kids out of a window anytime soon. Pretty sure he regrets that decision.

My money is on Jon and Stannis staying dead. Only minor and totally irrelevant characters like Catelyn or Berric Dondarrion come back to life, and I think it's seriously wishful thinking that Brienne spared Stannis. Considering how much she loved Renly, I really can't see her not killing him even if it means a bargaining chip to get Sansa back.

I disagree on the Jon part.

I mean I never really got in the books why didn't they bring back robb stark. That would of been awesome.

Spoiler:

Imagine it,

Robb stark with a wolf head imagine how different he would be compared to what the lady stoneheart thing would be like it would be dark and mysterious but also terrifying to know that is what magic could do.

Oh feth no.

I'd rather have LS.
Spoiler:
Hell hath no fury like a mother who's last surviving child (so far as she knows) is murdered before her.

LS is dark enough and the series can do without the goofiness of an undead King with a wolf's head.

It would be quite funny

Didn;t GRM just forget LS - or did she ever actually do anything?

She does actually, just off screen so to speak. She is not a pov character IIRC. And there are no pov characters in the BoB. So all we know about their activities are rumours and reports of outlaw attacks and occasional encounters with pov characters.

Spoiler:
Brienne meets them.
A Frey meets them.
]Jaime might meet them.
Arya "dreams" about them (she wargs into Nymeria and sees through her wolfs eyes the Brotherhood recovering her mother's corpse from the river

It's true that GRRM hasn't much with them yet, but I think he's laying the foundations for them to do something. That's a large reason why Feast for Crows and Dance with Dragons are so dull not a lot happens yet but a lot of groundwork is done, leading up to events that will occurr in the next book. We' ll get the payoff in WOW.

Spoiler:
Wouldn't surprise me if it's revealed they're planning an attack on the Twins. A considerable contingent of the Frey military is in the north at Winterfell. The rest is spread throughout the Riverlands, securing the land, deterring and suppressing Tully loyalist revolts, besieging Riverrun, hunting for the Brotherhood Without Banners outlaws. It's possible that the Freys are overstretched themselves leaving The Twins vulnerable.

Well in the show the Freys haven't been seen since the episode after the Red Wedding (when Walder Frey was gloating with Roose Bolton). If part of the huge Bolton army on the show were Frey troops, the show made absolutely no reference to it as far as I'm aware.

So the Bolton army really did appear out of nowhere.

Well, he is Warden of the north. He has a sizeable force at his command by virtue of that.

Also, I like the idea that they were the sellswords. Maybe they will go with that next season.

Depends on if they bring the Frey's situation in the TV series as in the book.

Right now the North has no one to get behind except the Bolton and since the Boltons betrayed the Starks....I can see Jon taking on the Stark mantle and leading the Wildling's as his own in the Gift and the Stark lands. Besides the fight between Jon and Ramsey would have HIGH RATING!!

The ruler of Dorne is dead. We see wheels and his body guard at the dock seeing off the ship, then when they cut back to the dock, those two are gone. The snake girl could be in charge now, she was wife to his brother, and she'll probably claim Jamie killed the prince and kidnapped or killed his son.

Jamie may or may not turn the ship around to confront her, but he'll have no support there and will have to leave or die.

The series doesn't care for what the books establish. Sand Snakes are terrible fighters in the series, Ser Barristan gets killed by a bunch of thugs and the Unsullied don't know how to fight.

Further reason why i don't think Jon Snow is dead: Kit Harrington is signed onto GoT through Season 7. The recent bs about his haircut is a bunch of nonsense : during the off season he's allowed to trim it to a particular length, but no shorter, so it grows back to where they need it in time.

... that alone cements it for me. Season 6 ? Sure. I could see some Season 6 retrospective. 2 seasons of that ? I doubt it.
