Crap, sorry about that, entirely my mistake (forgot to tag your entry as finished).

I'll ask down in Nuts and Bolts if editing a OP will reset in the poll; if it won't then I'll add you in to the OP, if it will then I'm afraid there's not a lot I can do.

In either case, if anyone would like to vote for this entry, then please put it in a post and I'll make sure your votes get counted for the league/rankings:

Hey guys,

Been putting off voting for a few days... But I suppose I should do it now...
Now we have 3+ votes each, I'm going to split mine down into categories - Best, Most improved and best newcomer.

Best:
I've giving it to Januine. Jet another superb entry!
@OneManNoodles: You were also in consideration for this one. Great looking henchmen. Very well painted, and the tattoos are a nice touch.
@TazN: Awesome looking Ork!

Most improved:
I'm giving this one to Garrior.
Last month Garrior's entry was a basic DW terminator. It was your standard DW termie, nothing special. But this month... Man, that lava pattern is crazy! It's clear just how much time was put into that. And I think it's safe to say that it would drive most of us crazy trying to do that!
Honourable mentions:
@Grimdork: Go big, or go home, right? Your dread last month was pretty big, but you've stepped it up again with this monstrosity! Good job!
@Nevlon: You did a few new techniques this time around Some weathering on the plasma cannon, and the freehand on the leg. I noticed that you dont do writing on the purity seals...
@queen_annes_revenge: Really great alpha legionnaires! I really like the colouring on their armour, it looks great!
@TazN: Not really an improvement (your BA last month was awesome too), but dam, thats a sweet (and incredibly angry) looking Ork!

Newcomer:
I count 22 people who entered this month, but not last month. Welcome to the comp, guys
After much deliberation, my vote went to SJM. Such an awesome Ork!
Honourable mentions:
@kencotter. The overall composition of the 3 models is great! It looks like the Lord is walking through some sort of entrance to a desolate shrine. Additionally, the way bits and pieces are sculpted, it looks like the wind is howling and he is looking straight into it, as if seeing some threat we cant quite see. I like it!
@professionalAmateur: Who doesn't love DKoK? You have suitable amounts of mud, grime and desperation. Perfect!
@AUGmaniac: Dont worry if you dont get a vote. In terms of improving, start with basing. It really helps to bring the model to a 'finished' state. Also, try some better photos. I think Para is allowing 5 photos to be entered... make use of them! Try and get some pics closer up. It hard to see detail with your current pics.
@Calibanite Lion: holy crap, thats cool!!!
@NidLifeCrisis: I so want to see this in person! The lighting in the photo is not doing you any favours. The lighting is poor. Terrible, in fact. Which is such a dam shame, because it looks so awesome!
@KingmanHighborn: Great nose are / freehand!!
@Tomcat31: Wow... what a gruesome looking base. He looks like a real, mean badass.

Well done to all entrants!

Well, there we are... My votes are cast. It took 40 mins to cross reference last month's entries and deliberate on winners etc.
Sorry if I didn't mention by name...

I'm looking forward to seeing next month's line up...

Thanks for the comment Zambro!

I like how the lava turned out, so I am painting all of my DV CSM with that colour scheme. I think the hell brute will look immense, but I better book a month or so to work on it!

@ Zambro - Thanks for the feedback! I'm really kicking myself about the naff lighting in my pictures. I was stressing out trying to knock together a lightbox before the deadline and in truth it didn't work out as I'd hoped.

Live and learn, though! I'm hoping to nail much better quality pics this month.

PS There are some slightly improved beta pictures in my gallery if you're interested!

@Garrior: A hellbrute would look awesome! They're definately furious, if you want to jump into it for this month...? (I've yet to look in this months comp thread...)

@NidLifeCrisis: I checked those pictures... So much better! You can actually see the whole central area, where before it was in shadow. The pictures are a bit orangey, but you can adjust that with the white balance (maybe? You'll need to play around with it). Or you could get daylight bulbs - Or even take pictures during daylight. That what I do. Set up my lightbox near my windows (I have a whole wall of east-facing windows, so it's very bright until around 1-2pm), and snap away. They're usually fine after that.
And to save people a click, here are Garrior's improved pics:

@Januine: 2 Solid entries so far, matey. I'm a little excited to see what you're up to next month...

When is the voting up Para? I can't see anything in the OP. It could be age though!

@Zambro I would love to do the Hellbrute for this months challenge, but I am away from my paints and mini's for pretty much the whole month. In fact, I have 3 nights left where I could reasonably fit in a few hours paining. I wouldn't even get the lava armour finished in that time!

might be simple, but truly I love the effect! It reminds me of magnetic nailpolishes I've seen around, which I've been wondering about for use in mini painting.

Right, in theory the poll should be done now! Time's up, voters, and we have winners! It's been amazingly close this time, with a massive 390 votes cast, and it's great to see so many people getting recognition for their talented work! Without further ado, here are the winners of this months Veteran painting challenge!

In 3rd Place, with 32 votes each and receiving 5 League Points, we have

Talys, with a Death Company Veteran

And Paradigm with the Word Bearers Lord:

In second place, with 40 votes and receiving 8 points, we have

Januine's fantastic Harlequin Solitaire

Congratulations on reaching the top 3 two months running!

And finally, in first place by just one vote, receiving 10 points, let's have a round of virtual applause for
SJM's superb GorkaMorka Ork Nob!

Well done to all the winners, and to everyone who took part! I hope you all enjoyed the challenge, and learned a thing or two along the way! The League will be updated over the next few days, so look out for that as well (and don't forget to PM user TP^DC Deputy Manager a link to your gallery or blog to be featured in the league table).

See you next month, when it'll be fast, furious, and no doubt fantastic!

Hmm, seems like some more votes have somehow been cast... The poll should have closed though.

Oh well, I guess they might as well count for the league, but the winners having been announced will stay the same. That seem fair?
