For a long time I've wanted to build a table with water features, and release a dragon head goby in there when playing. Pretty monstrous looking.

We have now 10 cats out of those we only ever actively sought out 5 of them. The rest just showed up on our doorstep... across the street in the ditch... under our porch... ETC (we had one of ours give birth to 4 kittens about 2 months ago)

That cat reading the book really has The Art of War by Sun Tzu tucked in there. Plus, he's reading it in Chinese.

Friends for life - Get a dog. Accept no feline substitutes.
Minimum maintenance pet - Get some rats. Always get more than one. They will reward you, rats can be very loving pets.
Budget rats - Get some mice. Same but smaller.

Rats are awesome but they don't live very long. I grew as attached to our pair of rats as I have any dog and when they both died within a couple-three years it was pretty brutal. Not sure I could do it again.

My dog, Kobe, is the best pet for a war gamer. He doesn't take up a lot of your time, he's clean and well behaved (mostly) and he's smart. He's also the perfect early warning system. If my wife goes out he lets me know when she's back almost before she knows. That rattling clacker of an old Diesel engine has him up and barking straight away.
This is perfect if I'm busy cocking about on my Xbox or playing Diablo 3 on my Mac when I should be working on my degree!
Plus, he's a Yorkshire Terrier and so is cute as button!

Mice live longer I find, Whisper, my last remaining mouse is four years old and doesn't look old yet, and she is a fit as a fiddle.
Thing with ratties and rodents in general is that you have to accept their short lives. Having a large colony of rats is one way, so there is a continuous cycle, but I don't think so. Just a pair will do, eventually one will go and the other will need lots of love in the remaining months. Your rats will gently teach you about mortality, death and the way of all things.
I had some rats, they lived their lives and I loved them, I dont need to get more, I learned their lesson while they were still alive and in their prime, and celebrated their lives rather than mourned them. I do miss my first mouse, Geri, though, she was a most extraordinary animal.

We had a pair of rats. The first died the other week but we new it was coming. You know how sometimes rats lose their ability to walk using their back legs? This one also started to go blind. The other one is very much alive and still going strong but its interesting to note how rats mourn as well.

Absolutely adorable, and super mellow all the time. Added bonus if you like to hunt or get rid of pests.
Doesn't bother me when he sees me when its miniatures time. Bribe him with treats though just to be sure.

I've 2 kittens who are now five & almost four and half years old.
Stitch, the older kitten, is kind of a pill with my wargaming as she's a constant attention seeker, or else practices her hockey moves with anything left lying about. I have a rule that if she jumps up onto the table and demands a belly rub, anything she squashes is automatically removed as if it has suffered a '6' result from a Destroyer attack - including any terrain!
We call it the 'Judgment of the Fluffy Mass'
Loki, the younger one couldn't give a rat's fart about any of it, as she's more interested in either eating, sleeping, eating, emulating Stitch for belly rubs, eating, or else hunting down anything non-human/feline that so much as twitches...

Cockatoo. Nobody will want to play at your place again. Can be used as sonic warfare against other players, or neibors. Greater threat range than wienerdogs when wings are not clipped. Can be color coded to many SM armies.

We have two greyhounds, they are about as good of dogs as you can ask for.
The only real issue we have is that they really like to chase anything that runs away; and that is really a pretty minor thing.
You can get them from adoption groups for a very reasonable price.

A miniature horse might need less room than a regular horse, but it still needs a lot of room and some pasture.
They also have the problem of having the same nutritional needs as a horse, but the appetite of a pony. Meaning they get fat and founder much easier than a regular horse.
