Considering, if I do manage to get to participate, I was planning on painting a monster with a monochrome pallette, I'm a fan of this poll.

However, as it stands I don't know if I'm going to be home with my paints for long enough during the month of June. Best of luck to everyone else, anyway.

I forgot I wanted to suggest “relic” or “blast from the past” as subjects. Was looking though this months thread, and found the discussions about old stuff from the start of the month.

That’s OK, I’ve got a “monster" from the late 80’s that craves paint...

Paint your MANZ in a way that will make humans pee themselves. That's the kind of the thing I was saying previously - think around the theme and you can make it work

No excuses now, I will have to paint my monster. Just the kind of shove that I require.

Cheers TP - all going well. Finally got some time free once again now that all is done and the family have headed back home. lol. The wife has even taken to doing some of my basepainting for me lmao

Have an exalt for that reference to one of the greatest works of sci fi ever (and probably one source of inspiration for 40k)!

As I said before, I have enough monstrous stuff in my Chaos army that choosing something could be tricky. I kinda want to do my Daemon Prince, but he's a big model and several other people probably are going to do them as well. I could do some Bloodletters, but that might actually be too easy unless I decide to get really fancy. I have a Bloodthirster of Insensate Rage that will look amazing when it's done, but I don't know if I could do that model justice in a month (unless I had the month off work!), or at all until my skills improve. Ditto for my Heldrake. Maybe my DV Helbrute could use a little paint. Perhaps the most ambitious thing I could do would be to assemble and paint my Soul Grinder (I am planning to paint it in subassemblies since it would be pretty hard to get good coverage with it all put together). Decisions, decisions...

Go for the Helbrute - very tasty model, minimum sub assembly and well doable in a month's time slot

Would some Chaos Marines qualify as monstrous? I'd assume so but just want to make sure before I decide on entering next months challenge.

I asked Para that earlier and he said rock on. Chaos Marines would defintely freak the bejayus out of your average human eh?!

I know the feeling. I’ve already got my proof picture, and am having to restrain myself from slapping paint on him. That’s OK though; I can try to use that energy to knock some other things of my paint bench that have stalled out.

Lol me too! I think I will do the DV Helbrute as he should be relatively easy compared to other miniatures of similar size (there's even a painting tutorial from Duncan Rhodes for me to make reference to if I get stuck!) and should be a blast to paint. I may work on some Bloodletters in the meantime. Hope I don't get tired of red paint (I'm not an Ork, after all!)

I have 20 or so old style geanstealers in the back of my cupboard... Let's see if i can win with them
