A lot. I have about the same loadout. Be ready for one hit deaths. Haha.

Anyone done the Pickman quest. That's one creepy guy.

...10 shots from an Explosive Powerful Combat Shotgun. Problem solved WAY too easily. I wish I hadn't waited so long to do that one. Took the fun right out of it. Kinda felt like an exterminator going after a Radroach on that one.

I did Pinkman's house, does he have another quest? That's a character I want to run into more on pure creep factor alone.

So, can companions die for good like in Skyrim? So far I've left Dogmeat to fend off lots of big nasty things, only to return to my side a few minutes later. Mans best friend indeed.

I read that the power armor suits that you can find "in the wild" are level dependant. I got my T51 set at a national guard armory while on the mission to find a list BoS recon team for Danse.
I found a T51 in the exact same place (behind a master lock, through a terminal?), so I think it might not be level dependent. Did you get attacked by a sentry bot when you left the building?

Yep, sentry bot attacked me. While poking online, apparently at level 40+ is when the "in the wild" suits start becoming enclave armor.

Anyway, finally got two genuinely useful pieces of legendary gear. A synth chest piece with +2 Luck and a 10mm pistol with bonus damage to humans (which is now my stealth pistol).

Nope, they just fall down until combat is over or you use a stimpack on them.

I also food the Pickman Gallery yesterday, another nifty Lovecraft reference.

Cool. I found some dog armor, but when I traded it to dogmeat he didn't equip it :( Guess that doesn't work like skyrim? Companions just stay the same?

I have that power armor suit from an early quest, where you also get the minigun.. but it's out of juice and there's also 2 pieces of armor that are broken and just sitting in my inventory weighing me down. it keeps saying i have to fix them before I can put them back onto the suit.. do you need a special perk to craft power armor? it doesn't even show up on my list of items when I'm crafting

and do you ever get to craft ammo? I'm always running short cuz I like to spray and pray.

Yeah I love when Dogmeat takes someone down and I can just pop em in the head I was creeping through the city and some sniper guy was on a roof, he was a character with a red skull but Dogmeat kept him busy so I could take him down and I got a pretty awesome sniper rifle out of it, I think it does 68 dmg. I can 2-shot armored brutes with it.. took about 50 shots and lots of kiting for that queen crab thing at the cast though, but I would have never killed that thing without it.

You have to press a button to equip armor from Dogmeat's inventory. Same with guns on human companions. And give them ammo too... Not happy about that addition. Skyrim, just give them one Ebony arrow and they had infinite. I haven't been able to use lasers all game since I give them all to my companions. Solid slugs for me...

Power Armor can only be repaired and upgraded on the specific workstation. The engine lifter in places like Sanctuary Hills and Red Rocket. But, when it's broken, it weighs 0 so it's not weighing you down.

No you can't craft ammo for any gun but the Syringer. Conserve ammo or carry 5 types of weapons. Bolt Actions also reduce spray and praying.

68 Damage is a good amount, even late in the game. Don't forget that you can take the scope off and turn it into more of a normal gun with the same damage output. I used to use Reflex Sights on Hunting Rifles all the time.

I do the multiple firearm type option.

My primary weapon of choice uses the .45 ammunition, but I keep a .38, .308, shotgun, and 10mm weapon on me at all times as well.

I'm starting to have to explore the area's where I need to start bringing my missile launcher with me, but the ammo I've saved up for that is still relatively low.

Yeah I just carry tons o' guns. That big sniper rifle I got uses .308, I'm almost all out now though. The guy also had a full suit of combat armor, so it doesn't hurt so bad now when ghouls jump the length of a football field and bite me in the face.

Can you reset your stat points? When i first started I cranked Perception up to 10, I thought I need that to be able to get the next skill below it.. now I realized I didn't have to so there's a bunch of points in there I'd love to get back to use elsewhere.

I played about 24 hours now and i still dont know what i think of Fallout 4 (on Xbox One).

What changed in relation to Fallout 3 is mostly good IMO.

But i hoped for more changes or new things in terms of environment, enemies or anything really.

The thing i like most is just wandering around.

Building power-armour is fun.
Modding weapons, apparel and building houses and settlements is fun, but i quickly lose interest.

What i have already learned, is that i do NOT like managing all those settlements that have to be "kept happy".
Nice addition for many players i presume, but not my thing; not because it is not fun, but because it keeps taking quite a lot of time, which i rather spent on quests and exploring.

I have 5 settlements now and yesterday it took me almost 1 hour just to solve all their problems.
I have decided that i will not create new ones untill i have played more actual quests and storyline.

Because that i do like.

I haven't delved to much into the settlements. I think my biggest problem with the game so far is the scope of it all. It's just a bit to much, and I can do it all.

Yeah, I almost fell into that trap as well with the stats. I caught it maybe level 4 or so.

I have like 6 settlements now, I just go and kill whoever is bugging them to get them on my side. Do you have to go and build beds and houses and everything at each one to keep them happy? I kinda just did that quest and left. I've been building up sanctuary as my home area, I don't think I want to spend all that time doing it everywhere else

I haven't done anything to any of the settlements except break their wrecked cars and stuff for scrap and build up Sanctuary with some metal houses. I haven't seen it impacting anything yet negatively.

That's not just reading material, you know!

I'd have activated a stealthboy and nicked his toilet - just so he had nothing to go on!

Useful bit of info for anyone who doesn't know yet, as I had to look it up. If a companion is in power armor (like if you have an extra suit lying around your base and someone attacks, your companion might hop into the PA), to get them out, talk to them, choose the talk option, and there will be a get out of power armor command.

Another question - is there Hardcore mode like in New Vegas?
Are there actual survival elements and inventory management?
Or can I carry 1000000 missiles like in FO3?

It's not even "hardcore" in the slightest sense. There's no food or water requirement, just slower healing + bullet spongy enemies

So...its crap.
Is there a decent weight system though? Like bullets having weight?
I never liked how I can carry heavy armor + 15 different guns, some of which heavy weapons + food and drugs + ammo + junk.

Nope, but chems do have weight now. Weights also done a bit better too (i.e. no more multiples of 0.5 only, a lot of junk items are 0.1 to 0.2)

I expect there to be an overhaul of "survival" mode once the real mod tools come out.

Hopefully, I always enjoyed that in NV. Although it made .50's for the anti-materiel rifle a pain

There is actually, but its very lenient. There are H20 and FOOD scales, similar to the RAD scale, which increase over time. You need to drink water and eat food to reduce the scales back to 0. I had the Vault 13 flask (DLC item) which never empties, and you automatically take a sip every 10 min or so. That one item alone completely accounted for my water needs.

I gave the mode a try but gave up because hardcore assigns weights to everything including ammo and because I'm a hoarder who sells all the gear he finds it just made the game tedious.

Getting frag-grenades early game is a god-send. I was attacked by a legion hit-team at level 4 or so (and they killed me twice), but 2 frags took them all out like nothing.

I was asking if it existed in FO4
I do understand the confusion though; I borked my question.
I actually thought that the survival scales were too lenient, and modded them to be harsher.
Ditto for the weight limits.
I vastly prefer STALKER's approach to weight; you can't carry a small armory with you in those games.
