Paradigm, it seems that Photobucket messed up something and I've had to reupload my proof, inside the spoiler

Spoiler:

I also finished another paracadutisti

And I remembered something, my deadline is five days shorter than everyone else's because on the 26th I'm leaving for Ireland, to learn proper English or something during three weeks, so I may have problems with next month's challenge.

Anyway, I, will be watching.

I love XCOM, I may have to convert some minis into XCOM operatives.

Love me some XCOM.

Anyways I put some more paint to the shadow captain. I used the new gw gold base coat color and I gotta say I love it way more than gehenna's gold, I also seemed to have found a good edge highlight color for black that is light enough to be seen but dark enough to not take away from the black power armor.

So... I failed to finish the fast & furious challenge a while back (the Ragik is still on my desk, thanks Witcher 3)... I have just the thing for this one though! Proof pic:

Frankly the this month is going to be crazy busy for me so I wouldn't place good odds on me finishing this time either... but here goes!

Tanith First and Only.

Proof:

They have black and green already placed, and I did the basing a while back.

I'll pick out the ones I'm happiest with at the end.

High five, comrade! I've just found that I have 75 IG, 40 Skits, a tank and a sentinel to do in 53 days.

I better do these at the can-still-give-a-feth end of that, huh?

Some good progress in the last few days- got some bases and washes down. I really love this model!

Still a way to go!

Airbrush seems to have been abandoned full of paint.

Managed to clean it quickly enough to be able to get down the primer, sitting in the ultrasonic waiting for morning before I give it a few belts, should be able to basecoat tomorrow.

This is my proof;

Part of it is missing (the chassis, seats, bottom missile launcher) they are primed and out of shot

WE'RE ALL GOING TO MAKE IT!

Nice load of Tanith in those pics Buttery

I hope you can figure out the seasonal cloaks sounds like a great idea if you can get it to work.

I will be watching yours develop with great anticipation, it will be interesting to see how we both interpret the Tanith theme.

Haha, apologies for doubling up with you, sort of - though last month it was trolls that came in numbers.
I just can't see me doing much else this month with cracking on for Council of War on the 5th, and my Mordians definitely don't fit the theme!

That's juuust under half of my GW Tanith, I'm rounding out to 100 even and stopping for sake of my sanity. I'd rather have done VL like yours, because I think they're amazing! But metal speaks to me.

Hmm, I think I can do this. Here's my guy--a one-sized-fits-all Vindicare/Illic Nightspear (that might, every once in a while, pull duty as an honest-to-goodness warrior with Dark Lance):

Damn it I was really hoping to get in on the action again this month, but alas, work, life and stuff are just not going to give me the time.

Alright got korvydae mostly done, just waiting on the water to dry and see tomorrow if I need a second application. After that I gotta paint the base rim, I was thinking loren green to match the wetlands theme.

Wow, that's impressive! What did you use for the water effect, PVA glue?

Thanks Paradigm for pointing me to the layering technique, previously the only highlighting I knew was dry-brushing.

Anyway, here is my finished model for this month - Nightunner:

I used layering on the chest, boots, and knee-pads, and dry-brushing on the pants, skin, gloves, and elbow-pads. (Also, I wish I could say I painted those deep shadows on the inside of the legs, but that's just a real shadow!)

Looking good! Learning layering will certainly pay off the more you paint, once you understand the theory it can be applied to almost anything, from realistic fabrics to NMM armour!

A few WiPs of mine. Gollum is basically done, and depending on how I get on with the Rangers I might just enter him and the other version:
(Scuse the fingers in some pics, he's hard to photograph flat)

Looks like some good progress is being made. I have managed to get my dudes based and assembled ready to prime.

Except for the moldline on the ninja's head i just noticed! Should be able to start painting these over the weekend.

So I feel that I have finished korvydae, so unless I find any glaring mistakes (or my pictures are so terrible everyone yells at me to re take them) I am calling this one done!

Looking good! If I were to really nitpick, I'd suggest painting the lens on the bionic eye (or take it brighter if it's already done) just to add a bit more contrast/colour, and just a bit of freehand on the purity seals, but that's all!

I used moot green on the bionic eye, but I think because its so small that it doesnt show up well on camera. And I will try the purity seal free hand, hopefully I dont mess it up too bad

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Alright I added some "text" to the purity seals. I went kinda light to match the old worn look of the parchment itself.

Oops! I forgot to upload my proof pics O.O

I don't have a good match for the subject matter of the contest this month with what I'm doing, so I'm going to wing it :( It will be either a scout squad or tactical squad arriving via a drop pod (I happen to be painting tactical, scout, and drop pods... and terrain... hehe). I think that's a better match for the subject matter than... Lord Castellan on a... Sneaky Cat!!

When it's done, should I photograph it with a drop pod + 4 models to keep it in contest rules? I mean, the squad is going to be 5 anyways, but I can take out one scout or tac for the contest.

Proof pic -

Sorry I forgot to upload this earlier on!

Here is my finished diorama.
As U might see, the IG is sneaking into a threatening environment armed with only his veteran knife and a lot of anger.
The Chaos Cultist have no clou that this is the last night they have to wait to see their creator - GW

(If you look cloesely you might see a few helpful goods, I placed to help the IG to fulfill his mission...)

Good luck to all of you. Can´t wait to see everyones finished minis.

Cheers,

K D

Really tough subject this month! For me the difficulty to show off how sneaky you are without having a subject. Made me think about doing a diorama, but I am travelling a lot this month, so I won't have time for that. A single miniature it is, but I have yet to decide which.

For now I just wanted to share the sneakiest 40k minis on the web in case you haven't seen them. The space marine poster is just fantastic! I remember them as part of a diorama, but I couldn't find it....

Wow KD, that's fantastic! And great to see the IG not being played for laughs or stomped for once. They can be pretty scary guys in their own right.
