That's looking gorgeous, even if you did sacrifice your eyesight.
I'm not sure I'll be able to finish because I've been hit with a virus that's basically slow-motion narcolepsy. I get about half an hour's notice and am then fit for nothing and have to sleep 5-10 hours.
Frustrating as Hell.

You can't kill what isn't there! *throws smoke grenade and runs*
Right, I've got my two Alpha Legion operatives finished; I also added a barricade because someone is apparently hunting cultists around here... and the mission must not be interrupted!
Here are my final pics:
Operative "Scarecrow"
Operative "Bolt"
Added equipment
Barricade
In hiding
"I'm telling you Bolt, I'm not taking any chances with that maniac running around. You hear what he did to that outpost? Slaughtered four cultists by himself, their throats slit before they even knew he was there. I say we stay right here, call for back-up and hope the squad gets here before he does. "
"He's just one guy, Scarecrow. What's the worst he can do?"
The commando, who was now on the roof of the building behind them, smiled at the remark. He'd have to wait for the other operatives to arrive before he could start slitting throats again, but it would be worth the wait. After all, finding out what the Alpha Legion was up to was a prize he just couldn't resist...
Hope you like 'em!

My Darkshroud is nearly done, I should be able to add the final touches and put up some final pics either tonight (local time) or tomorrow night. It probably won't be my best work, though. I've run out of time for the really fancy stuff. I love what I've seen so far from everybody; it should be a pretty good competition.

I had wanted to paint up sniper rifle scouts to go with this drop pod, but it wasn't meant to be -- Age of Sigmar models, real life, and even some gaming got in the way So, it's not as sneaky as I had wanted it to be. But here it is! And just for the contest, I took out one tactical marine to make it 5 models

Talys, how do you get such clean and smooth coats with a brush? I am having a hard time with my consistency though I only have a few miniatures under my belt so that could be the reason.

A combination of a few things, I guess. Mephiston red is a pretty good red, and I paint it on very thin. I use a the widest flat brush appropriate, so that I'm painting with as few brush strokes as possible, and I keep my brushes very clean, even during painting..
When I'm painting red onto black, I'll give it a coat of Averland Sunset (a mustard yellow) first, a little trick I learned from one of the Duncan Rhodes GW videos. I used to use brown, but Averland works MUCH better, as the resulting red is very bright. Still, I doubt I paint any bright solid color onto black in less than 4 coats; probably closer to 8-10.
Another excellent product is Liquitex Flo-Aid, which greatly reduces brushstrokes. I don't use this on red, however (not that it wouldn't work; it's just water works fine). It's my go-to for thinning white.

Gamma-Hydra-Seven to Lambda-Kappa-Twelve, we have successfully infiltrated the thread. Subject "Talys" has drawn the attention of the Inquisition as foreseen by our handlers. Subject "Nevelon" has called upon his ally in the ranks of the Ordo Hereticus, who is already on-route towards the thread. The Inquisitor will not escape us this time.
Gamma-Hydra-Seven out.
Anyways, good to see such strong entries coming up, it's going to be difficult to pick a winner

Sebastian is completed in all his bloodsplattering glory!
I have to say that flicking red paint on a mini I spent a good ten hours painting was nerve wrecking to say the least! But it was something I have wanted to try out for a long time and it turned out just fine thanks to some lessons learnt doing practice runs before flicking blood on the actual model.

Thanks Paradigm for pointing me to the layering technique, previously the only highlighting I knew was dry-brushing.
Anyway, here is my finished model for this month - Nightunner:
I used layering on the chest, boots, and knee-pads, and dry-brushing on the pants, skin, gloves, and elbow-pads. (Also, I wish I could say I painted those deep shadows on the inside of the legs, but that's just a real shadow!)
More pictures:
Jeez man I am sorry I didn't see this till now. I used woodland scenics realistic water for the water. It's kind of a resin type material that hardens when introduced to air.

@Zoat: that's awesome! While I tend to use good old BFTGB these days, the effect you can get with the flicking method is always good! Compliments the mini very well!
@Grim: just epic! Nice use of OSL and the gun (NMM) looks great! Might be a rush job, but you've got one of my votes for sure!

Wow, more Infinity models this month than all the previous ones put together! And really nice ones too. Just a WIP for my Yu Jing Ninja as not sure I'll get her finished and thought I'd better post something. Needless to say I'm trying for a Tron theme, but still want to have a go at lots of OSL before calling it a day.
edit - wow, the camera on my phone is awful! or... my eyes and brain are very complimentary about my painting skills and are deceiving me!

Thanks Paradigm!
Actually I used a bit of both. Flicking was used for splashes up the apron, while the gash on the hand and the blood on the saw were BFTBG applied the traditional way. And though it doesn't really show in this pic, the bright red dots on the apron is thinned down BFTBG

Well, I managed to finish in time after all! I present to you, my Ravenwing Darkshroud (pics spoilered due to size):
Definitely not my best work, but I'm happy with it. Definitely low-to-medium tabletop standard. I love the stuff I've seen so far, and I will make a note of Talys' suggestion of painting yellow under red, as my Khorne Daemonkin army's main armor color is red. Good luck to everyone doing last-minute touchups and additions, and I'm looking forward to the voting!
