So, another generic "bad things happen to head of state" movie, just set in London this time? Meh.
Anyway, did anyone else think of the browser game Fallen London based on the subject line?
"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see.
One chants out between two worlds: Fire, walk with me." - Twin Peaks
"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks
I hate to be pedantic, but it's not London bridge, it's called TOWER bridge

I do like how DC is referred to as Olympus, while London doesn't get a cool nickname.
Have you ever been to London and experienced the rip-off prices, sky high rents, air pollution, and hostility to Northerners?
If the answer is yes, you wouldn't bother with fancy nicknames, you be at London

I think that's an myth. They knew they were getting London bridge and got what they expected.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I'll probably go to see this. I really enjoy seeing things heavily featuring London as I live here, it's quite odd seeing places I've walked many times appear on the big screen.

If it's anything like Olympus, it'll be a good solid popcorn flick that harkens back to the likes of Die Hard, but with an overall darker & more gritty 'what if this really *could* happen' feel to it.
I just hope we get more interplay between Gerry & Aaron this time around. They were awesome together despite the utterly tiny amount of screen time in the previous film! (let's just hope they don't suddenly go full-on "President Jack Bauer" as that would be hilariously stupid...)
"Gritty" wasn't what I got from the first movie. Too much of the "security-throwing-themselves-at-machine-guns-so-the-hero-can-rambo-it" to qualify as gritty. It's just Die Hard (which is in no way a bad thing don't get me wrong ha)
I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
I would love a scene where Butler is hammering down some street with the president in the back of the car and slides around a corner, *crash*, leaves a shattered blue box behind him. "What was that" "Nothing, never mind".
I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
You ever get that feeling when you're watching a trailer that absolutely no-one involved in making the film gave a gak?
“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

YES.
With a look in their eye that screams "yeah yeah let's just get this done I need the money. What do you mean we need to connect the plot better? Add more explosions."
